Recently one hearing aid stops receiving. When I get a phone call I only hear it in one ear even though the Bluetooth settings say both are detected. Sometimes I cannot hear a book I have been listening to at all. After I check the settings, which say all is fine when it isn't I re-boot the phone. Usually that works. The trouble is I have to do it many times a day -- al.ost every 2 hours! This is a new problem and my audiologist couldn't figure out why either.
Unable to connect to my Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) phone despite hearing aids being paired successfully. Have to restart my phone daily to reset app so I can use the basic settings to change hearing aid mode or volume. If I switch one hearing aid off when I switch it back on the app can't see the hearing aid even if I close it down and reopen it. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Developers need to start responding to users feedback.
More than half the time that I open the app, it doesn't find one side or the other and I have to uninstall and reinstall or wait for an unusually long time (20-30 min orore) for the 2nd side to be found, which then limits my ability to use the filters. I also don't think the preloaded "memories" work all that well. For instance, I hear the TV better on stream boost than on the TV memory. It also has never connected to my Bluetooth, so I cannot hear my phone through my hearing aids.
I like the idea that I can hear things off my phone through my hearing aids, but the problem is everytime I click on anything on my phone, wether it's me going on Facebook or checking my messages or typing a message, , the volume will go all the way down for at least 3 seconds, then go back to where it's set at. The whole time I've been typing this review the volume on my hearing aids has been all the way down and wont go back to normal until 3 seconds after I'm done typing this.
Overall this is a poorly designed app with not nearly enough controls for turning off and selecting streaming and notifications sources. These issues appear to be a large concern for most reviewers as well. Surely your engineers and software writers should be able to do better. Rumor has it that you are coming out soon with an upgraded version, true? 3.3.0 was not an improvement.
Bluetooth Constantly Disconnects on my Z Flip 3. When Streaming Music; the constant dropping is irritating and upsetting. The app is also mostly useless as well. The Starkey Hearing Aids work fine without the phone but when connected do not work properly. Update: did what the developer said. Still constantly drops connection. App Developer needs to work on the app and get working properly. Hearing Aids work fine when not connected to the phone.
Doesn't work with Pixel 6 Pro. I use only 1 hearing aid for my right ear. I can pair it on Bluetooth to stream music to the hearing aid via Spotify, but whenever I select my hearing aid in Thrive it says connected and then "No hearing Aid found" when it switches to the dashboard menu, then asks me to select my hearing aid again (infinite loop). Update: Tried clearing the App cache+storage, rebooted both phone and HA, did the whole sign in/pairing/permissions again but got the same issue.
App seems very buggy, locked itself in demo mode. Heard streaming auto once through them for a brief moment, not impressed with sound quality of music, wish my Aids had better drivers. Can not get them to connect to streaming audio now for the life of me. Turned on off on all possible settings that one would think that pertain to said function. Will give an uninstall/install a chance to remedy the situation and possibly revisit this rating.
This app works even worse on my S9+ than my previous old hearing aid app. Brand new hearing aids are great, this app is not. Terrible app, incredibly limited functionality vs what I was told it would be, and most of the features aren't available on Android it seems, which is bs since Android is just a better OS overall. If I can't get this app to work properly and allow me to make or edit new modes at the very least, I may end up returning my actual hearing aids and going with a different brand.
Keeps losing connection to one or both hearing aids. Android notifications do not usually play through the hearing aids causing missed notifications. Frequent volume changes in each ear, but not at same time causing disorientation like ears popping one at a time. If you have android phone, I do not recommend this brand of hearing aid.
Most of the many features aren't functional on my Samsung S8. Streaming audio/TV and tinnitus support isn't compatible with the S8. The Reminder features speaks from the app, not the hearing aids. The "Activity" features -- Steps, for example -- doesn't function. The Tap Gestures isn't adequately documented, Memories can be created, but not deleted. No need to go on; you get the idea. Starkey: Stop advertising these wonderful features and provide an easily accessible Web link showing model compatibility. That would have saved me $6200.
Worked fine for about 6 months, now will not stay connected. Even went back to Dr. while under warranty. They replaced them, still won't work. Have a $4,000 set of junk hearing aids now! I go to bluetooth settings on phone (iPhone 12) and it tells me they're connected, but app says they're not connected. Finally one might connect, but the other will not. Have installed and reinstalled app twice. Have "unpaired" hearing aids on Bluetooth phone settings, and reconnected multiple times as well.
I was convinced the rechargeable hearind aids were the way forward. Initially i was happy, however soon found issues in that i had to restart my phone a few times each morning before the app responded to the hearing aids to enable me to turn the volume up. It was a constant fight to get them working properly. Annoyed me so much to the point I had to return the hearing aids before I threw them out my car window. May be a compatability issue with android, regardless not pleased.
Keeps closing, won't connect to hearing aid. UPDATE: Thank you for contacting me. I want to add this is a loaner hearing aid. I have also replaced my phone and get the same results on the new one. Once my new hearing aid comes, I will try it again. I have tried your suggestions multiple times, before your reply and again after. I still have the same issues. It connects and give the congratulations message followed immediately with an it can't be found message.
It needs a way to turn off automatic control. I only hear the first two bars of my radio song and the rest is muted out. It fights me night and day. I sometimes take them out to hear certain events. Later Nothing has changed here. I see nothing constructive in reply/ies, so I assume there is nothing that can be done to turn off program control or severely turn down the sensitivity ordering changes in service. :(
This is the worse application for Android phone users. It constantly tells me it can't locate my hearing aids( hello, they are in my ears!), awful feedback, horrible tinnitus magnification. For $5400, I expected much better tech support, and yes, my Bluetooth is current, my application was been downloaded, reinstalled, uninstalled, and reinstalled. The quality of the application and the oriduct is not worth the money. Going back to Widex!
This app is pretty unusable. It has taken me multiple goes for me to connect my hearing aids. Then now they are connected, I set the volume, but then the volume changes to a different setting all on its own. Its so frustrating that I don't even want to use the app anymore.
I think for money we spent we paid for the hearing aids is surely lacking A lot of improvements can be rectified. Bluetooth is main plus but at times I feel I am not heard on voice calls that well. The Bluetooth connectivity is also suspect. At times in my car it will randomly switch from in my car to hearing aids while driving
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the app. I had trouble at first with one of the hearing aids losing streaming. Support recommended some things to try by turning off sounds etc. That helped. However I figured out my versa 2 fitbit was the problem. It was paired to my phone so was causing problems. I turned off the watch and didn't wear it for 3 days and didn't experience any lost connection. Later I unpaired the versa from my bluetooth settings and seems to be working fine now.
Causes the aids to have connectivity problems cutting in and out. At first I thought it was the hearing aids, but am now becoming more and more convinced that it is the app causing the problems. I read an answer about turning off the streaming, so now I am trying that.
Loving the hearing-aids, but the app doesn't work properly. It keeps crashing. Given so many of the features are activated by the app. It's a pain that I can't use the hearing-aids to their fullest extent. I got your response, however that hasn't resolved the issue... Still facing the same problems
This is my second review... The app continuously disconnects or drops. When I go to use the smart phone the volume and sound frequencies change in each device. I have a galaxy note 20 and it seems not to play well with the devices. I am also not happy at all with Starky as the left device has malfunctioned twice in less than 30 days. The app is relentless at disconnecting from the hearing aid! If you enjoy being driven to near insanity by incompetent technology.this device and the app is 4 you.
Such a poor app...crashes regularly. Edit to respond to reply: re connection issues it would be helpful if you could write a reset button into the app rather than forcing users into phone settings every day to force a reset. And to clarify my original review was regarding app stability. It crashes so often. Starkey really need to invest much more money into app development given the amount they charge for their hearing aids.
Early on it worked, not extremely well, but functional. Streaming NEVER worked. Now it's absolute garbage, it refuses to access my hearing aids not 8 inches away! Like others, I'd prefer a ZERO star rating, that might even be too high, negative 2 more likely, but it won't accept less than 1.
Sick to the back teeth with this app, worse lately than during previous year. Can't rely on it, fed up with turning mobile on and off, reinstalling or trying to connect. So many features of the hearing aids are inaccessible much of the time. No other apps are problematic and I remain connected to my car app without difficulty while off and on connection to hearing aids. Not sure what my excellent audiologist is supposed to be able to do or why that is often suggested.
