Poor offline experience. Keeps saying downloaded titles are "not found". I don't know why this happens, and its left me stuck bored on many occasions. The app also doesnt allow you to add music to your collection (liking a song) when you are offline. This is really annoying, as I must look up the song again once I get online. Spotify doesnt have these issues. Makes it really frustrating to like/use on a DAP.
Auto play playlists not as good as Google's. Sound quality can be great. Biggest complaint: "downloaded" music still struggles or often fails to play without a connection, defeating the point. Edit:I think the customer service deserves another star ⭐ good job, honestly. And I've considered it, and think it's a 4/5 ⭐ app (still kind of cluttered, bugs withstanding) but 5/5 service. Sure I wish it was perfect, but I think it's the best of top 3.
The Tidal app closes when switching apps. It will work when exiting out of the app to something else, but will closes when switching back. I have a lot of respect for the music quality that Tidal provides, but $20 a month for this kind of experience is not a justifiable expense. I've maintained my subscription hoping things will improve but things have not. I want to like this app, I do.
The service is awesome. I tried multiple streaming services that offer high res audio, and Tidal was by far the best. Great selection, plus Tidal Connect is super convenient. As for the app... I have some minor gripes like how often the login expires and I have to log back in. It always seems to happen when I'm driving and want some music.
Would be great if the app on the Samsung frame tv could be controlled from the tidal app or just being able to cast to the TV or Yamaha receiver would ve good. Seems you have to log in individually on each device and control from that device. Otherwise great sound! Integration with sonos could be improved. App starts playing on the phone after sending to external speaker.
So far so good. I love how they've added the exclusive mode for dac amps, so I can play all the music without android resampling everything. However, one issue with it, there is a blip when pausing and switching songs or even opening different apps. So if Tidal could look into that and find a fix, then it would be five stars.
From my experience, this is the best Hi-Res audio streaming service and honestly it's better than Spotify in some ways. Spotify has more options in terms of music, but Tidal offers a cleaner and more professional user interface. It's all personal taste and preference for what you want, but Tidal is a great offering for audio enthusiasts and regular users alike.
They configured their system to only accept payment through PayPal, which is not inherently bad. Now that I've paid them through PayPal using the same card I had on file before but now returns an error message when entered, all my family plan data has been lost. Everyone has to start from scratch. Giving 1 star because customer service is almost unreachable and the family subscription info should have been available to restore instead of starting over.
I've been using this app since like 2018 or so. I really like it but there are some problems. the most significant one: the search engine. I am not a fan of Spotify, but no matter how bad your spelling mistakes are, Spotify finds the song you're searching for. Tidal on the other hand... Even if you only have one spelling mistake, the song won't be found. This is really annoying. Please please please do something about that!
Tidal has really grown on me these last few months and I think it's well worth the price. I really like that you can link it up with Rekordbox and mix with the music in your playlists. One major improvement that could be made is the search engine. Sometimes I will be one letter off of a song I'm searching and returns zero results. My Spotify is really good for that and makes it less frustrating to find music. Tidal searching overall it's OK.
We tried this app because we experienced problems with others such as Spotify. I personally find this app very similar, although it's not the same. It does not show all results when searching for a less known song. Now I know that spotify does not do that either, but it still shows more and makes it easier to find. There are also a lot lesser songs on this app than on Spotify. I really doubt we will use this app again.
Hya, love the music great app, easy to navigate, love the new lyrics function. Two things, first, when I play music through my phone's speaker, sometimes the audio pauses and it tells me that "I'm playing on a raspberry pi" not major, just an annoyance. Second, I can tell the difference between this app and tidal with one thing. Song library. Compared to Spotify, the library is slightly smaller. No probs, that's it.
Music is HQ, but not the service. First of all, how come a current music streaming service doesn't support a space for public podcasts. Okay... the app focuses on music, then why is the mobile and PC app so slow, adding the low performance to stream music (including the missing synch. in cloud between devices). Also, not as other companies, they don't have an alliance or agreement to transfer all your songs from one service to Tidal. Overall, it can improve, it's not convincing yet.
Edit: for higher Bluetooth output on your cellphone, go into developer setting and adjust all your settings to high. Google has tons of info. [Less is better] I was having significant issues with other apps over amplifying everything. It gets to the point of where it's painful and sloppy at high volumes with no definition. I just want to say I respect the company for looking out for compensating artists. Ever since streaming services have come around it's really screwed over artists.
The music is fine but the app is almost unusable. The controls disappear from the lock screen and top pulldown constantly, and when listening to an album or playlist, it will suddenly revert to that song's radio (or whatever the Tidal equivalent is called). The app frequently just shuts down. They also do not have a feature to control the app on another device. Update: trying another free trial and it's still the same malfunctioning app. You guys HAVE to fix this. I so want to stay but I can't.
Definitely having trouble with app. Tidal keeps interrupting music, asking permission for headphone jack/phone adapter. I'll definitely be downgrading from hifi if this doesn't get sorted out. Also the shuffle feature seems buggy. To shuffle properly through my entire 1300 + playlist, I have to scroll to the bottom to load all songs, otherwise it keeps starting at the beginning and definitely only shufflles through a small portion of my playlist. Sure not the only one with these issues.
I've been using this ervice for 5 years. Lately I have noticed that downloading songs for offline play has become very very slow. I used to be able to download large playlists (2000 + songs) of master qualit within an hour or two but now we are talking days. The downloads start fast enough but after a while they slow right down to to a stop. I have tried multiple SD cards, clearing cache, uninstalling. I also tried to break my playlists up into smaller ones. Going to give Amazon music a go.
App itself is ok (not as good as Deezer or Spotify). The recommendation system is also just okay. In these 2 months I found some new albums I liked, but I still get shown to many artists I don't generally like. Sound quality seems good, but not something I can say as mandatory, when I use the app in public transport with Bluetooth headphones.
It's a great app, but lately I have problems streaming songs. No matter if I'm on wifi, mobile data, or offline mode, headphones on or off, I sometimes have to wait minutes before anything starts playing. I already followed all the instructions for this case, but still have that problem. Once it is fixed I'll gladly give 5 stars.
This App use to be really good and constantly improving. However, Tidal as of late have taken steps back and the experience have become horrendous. Downloading has become a chore. The offline experience has become criminal. There's times It takes 5- 10 minutes for songs to start playing. I use to love this app, it was a life style essential, it still is, it just has become a horrible experience. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this.
