Tide Now OR

Tide Now OR is a tide calculator for Oregon State. It displays a tide graph, daily tide table, present tide status, and daylight hours. It supports forty five locations in Oregon.
Self Contained

This app does not use the internet to get its results. It performs its function purely by calculation. It will work on a phone or a tablet in or out of range of communications.

Quick Simple and Clean

Predictions are quick and the app is simple to use and understand. Gestures are supported for looking at the next and prior day tides. There are no ads and app cannot access phone features. The app is small (264 KB).

User Options

Controls for the user are provided by three action bar icons and four items in the settings menu. The action bar controls are Set Location, Set Date, and Refresh. The settings controls are Add Station to Favorites, GMap Station (internet), Change Color Scheme, and About Gestures.

Phone or Tablet

The app works on any Android device at level 3.0.3 or above, most phones and tablets are supported. Depending on the nature of your android device, the landscape or portrait mode display may present a more useful size.

Accurate Predictions

This app was written using well-known tidal prediction algorithms and publicly available location data. It can be expected to match very closely to federally-published tide tables. It uses the "Harmonic Prediction of Tides" methodology in long use for tide elevation predictions.

Designed for On The Spot Use

The tidal status presentation gives an immediate snapshot of the tide situation, more useful than just a standard list of highs and lows. The display can be refreshed at any time to update this status. This app is designed for use while actively out and about along the waterfront. It uses large text and the white on black text choice is easily read on the bright sun.

200 Year Calendar

In addition to today's tides, a date picker is available to choose any date from 1901 to 2100. The app does not have to be refreshed on the new year.Oregon is broken down into four regions.

Columbia River Region : Hammond, Warrenton, Astoria Port Docks, Astoria Tongue Point, Cathcart Landing, Settler Point, Knappa, Wauna, Saint Helens, Rocky Point, Portland.

I really love no ads. thank you! also like you can customize your view of it. the finger swipe action is super smooth - but it does hesitate/pause a bit. it would be soooo nice to see one whole month- even one week at a time. good job!!

The charts are divided into sections that aren't specific enough. For example Yachats tides are NOT the same as Waldport or Florence or Reedsport.

I use this app to plan clamming and crabbing trips to the various bays. I create a list of low-tide weekends and plan with friends our trips.

Simple format lets you see what you need to see without eating processing power. Just the right information for boat freaks and fishermen.

This thing is fast - fast - fast and doesn't need internet access. This app has never bobbled once. I have paid for two other tidal apps from other vendors and they have went belly up. Not this one. I would have paid $5 for this compared to the other two. The display is simple and effective. If you want or need tidal information for your area listed in the application description and you want a simple, effective and reliable app - this is it. One happy clam digger...

No reliance on GPS or weather data here, all I want is to know when high and low tide are, and not need to use my plan's limited data to do so - especially as many areas along the OR coast have shoddy reception at best. This is pretty much like having a tide calendar in my pocket, which was all I needed and all I was wanting.

Live in Newport and use this app daily/weekly when headed to the beach. Works on my HTC One and Galaxy Tab. Easy to use. Love it!
