Tide Now WA

Tide Now WA is a tide calculator for Washington State. It displays a tide graph, daily tide table, present tide status, and daylight/sun/moon timing. It supports 96 locations in Washington State.
Off Line Operation
- app does not use the internet, it works by calculation.

Predictions are quick the app is simple to use. Use swipe gestures for the next and prior day tides. There are no ads and app cannot access phone features.

User Options

Controls for the user are provided by three action bar icons and five items in the settings menu. The action bar controls are Set Location, Set Date, and Refresh. The settings controls are Add Station to Favorites, GMap Station (internet), Change Color Scheme, Sun and Moon Info, and About Gestures.

Phone or Tablet

The app works on any Android device at level 3.0.3 or above, most phones and tablets are supported. Depending on the nature of your android device, the landscape or portrait mode display may present a more useful size.

Accurate Predictions

This app was written using well-known tidal prediction algorithms and publicly available location data. It can be expected to match very closely to federally-published tide tables. It uses the "Harmonic Prediction of Tides" methodology in long use for tide elevation predictions.

Designed for On The Spot Use

The tidal status presentation gives an immediate snapshot of the tide situation, more useful than just a standard list of highs and lows. The display can be refreshed at any time to update this status. This app is designed for use while actively out and about along the waterfront. It uses large text and the white on black text choice is easily read on the bright sun.

200 Year Calendar

In addition to today's tides, a date picker is available to choose any date from 1901 to 2100. The app does not have to be refreshed on the new year.

Next Day, Prior Day Swipes

Gestures are supported to go to "next day" and "past day" to step day by day through a range of dates. These operate like turning the page of a book. You can quickly swipe through a range of dates to look for good clam digging days.

Favorites

The selected station can be added to a set of eight favorites. These can be accessed by a down-swipe.

Adjustable Colors

There are five color schemes, good for situations ranging from bright sun to night use. Try each one out depending in which conditions you use the app you can find one that works best.

The best tide app bar none! I downloaded this because every other tide app was inaccurate. Some by as much as a few feet which can equal 100 yards of beach! I relied on another app to park my car on the beach, but it was so far off that the surf actually touched my front tires. Tide now showed the tide at 6ft when it was really over 10ft. I think I'll stick with this app from now on. it actually has much more info than the others. kudos developers!

Might be my all-time favorite app. Easy to use, full of information (has become my default for checking sunrise/sunset times as well as tides) and good design. It even has fun little (apparently hand-drawn) doodles for the sun, moon, and logo! Love it.

Outstanding app. Simply gives you all the useful information you need, great interface, intuitive, and extremely well done-exactly what I have been looking for.

This is an excellent tide app. I had trouble discovering how to get tidal current predictions and originally rated this 3 stars for that reason, but was provided help by the author within the hour that showed me how to use the app better. Despite the slight discoverability problem (current predictions, being half the app's functionality, would seem to warrant a less-buried UI entry point), this app is otherwise so good I'm giving it 5 stars anyway.

Love the app just because it's handy, however not being a mariner, I don't know how the hi // low numbers work, or other features read. Would you please add a menu that describes all the graphics and what they mean, represent? You could use the same menu for all your other tide table apps, I have about (4) of them installed. Thanks; love it, thanks for great honest information!

I find the app easy to use with graphs and data shown in a meaningful way. But it is missing many of the local tide points I need/use in the San Juan Islands and Puget Sound.

As a Merchant Mariner in Puget Sound, I find I prefer this app over alternatives. No ads! Instant results displayed (not bloatware), and simple to use.

Living up in Bellingham. Simple, accurate, and honest app. Would like to know how to donate money to the developer. Useful service you're providing. Thanks.

Wa. tide is a fantastic tool to get yourself and your family outside and exploring low tides. One can walk beaches that are usually covered in sea water. Look for sea creatures and take in our fabulous n.w. views. Be careful as the tide comes back in fast.

Quick, accurate tides. The only thing I'd change is me being on the water more!

Nice, simple tide prediction. Does everything to want from a ride prediction app and nothing you don't. Nice additions would be a list of nearest stations (from gps) and tidal current predictions. Thanks!
