This app is easy to use and works well with one big exception. Knowing I would probably not have a signal later. I loaded up the relevant tide times before setting off for the beach. I like to go for long walks from one cove to another at low tide. When I tried to check the info on the beach, it wiped the whole screen and tried unsuccessfully to download again, and was effectively useless on that day.
Went to MA to see the ocean for the first time. I had no idea what the beach would be like at low and high tide. This app was spot on. We timed our sight seeing so we could return at high tide (the beach disappeared, by the way, at high tide) and then at low tide to play in the water. Without the app we would not have known when the beach was accessible. The accuracy of this app made our trip much more rewarding.
I use this app a lot and I have had zero problems with it. No glitches at all. Good listings of info. Great map of waterways. Smooth operation & fun to use. I live near the beach so I check it every day before I walk. Good for shelling. Also, we have a creek that changes its level with the tides, so if it's very rainy, we check the tide and watch for flooding. If we go out in the marsh I'd check to make sure the water is high enough to paddle back.
I've had this app for a long time, always reliable, and does what it should. I go kitesurfing, and this app helps me plan my session. I use other apps for the wind, and this one for tides. It's free, keeps my favorites all together, accurate, doesn't have annoying adds, settings are simple, ex. switching between feet-meters. It works for me, for years now.
It's basic but all I need. There's no point in cramming a bunch of other features into it that other apps specialise in. The less complicated, the less room for glitches - and I haven't noticed any glitches. You get: - Tide - time of high, time of low (in my timezone) - Sun and moon - rise, set - Map - with markers where tide is measured. - International info on all of the above. It's free, and the ads are not intrusive.
Finally an app that gives me just what I want, quickly and easily, in an easy to read large font, for where I am! The state of the tide just the way I would tell someone, namely, "The last (high/low) was at (time), which was (hours & minutes) ago, and the next (high/low) is at (time), which is (hours & minutes) from now.". Similarly for the next sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moonset event (plus percentage of moon!). Plus the next 7 days in table format. Likewise for currents data. Well done!
Intuitive, fast access to nearest tide stations (SF Bay for me). Last and next tide. Next set or rise of sun and moon. Full week of tides with heights. Pick stations from list or map. Global coverage. One star off for no apparent purchase option. Small ad at bottom. Ads can be suppressed for 3 days by watching a few seconds of a video. Would rather just pay a few bucks.
It seems there has been a temporary connection problem with this app which lasted for a few days, thankfully now fixed. All in all one of the best apps available, simple to use and accurate, perfect for me as a leisure sailor, I didn't realize just how much I had come to depend on the data until I had to go without it the last few days. Many thanks
I live a block from the beach, so I use this app often. It's accurate & easy to navigate. Only thing that bothers me is... every time I turn on my phone, it asks for a rating. You're good! Stop appearing so desperate! Thank you for including the moon rise! Last night we watched a moon rise & a launch, awesome!
The app no longer gives tide information about any of the tide stations in Ireland (Republic). It just displays a connection failure message. I can access information on any of the UK stations, including those in Northern Ireland. I emailed you about this a few weeks ago but got no response.
I've been using this app for years and it's only just dawned on me to write a review. As a photographer I use this a lot. It has always been accurate. I would have no problem paying a few euro to get an ad free version even though the single banner ad is completely unobtrusive and does not affect or delay viewing information at any time.
The usefullness of this app depends what you want to know. I dont see much use in knowing the next high or low. I need to know the tide now and how it has been in the last few hours. This knowledge imparts information regarding current tidal FLOW, which is the most useful thing you gain from tidal charts. It's the flow that gets you into trouble! So it is necessary to see a graph for this. Tides near me doesn't do graphs so I immediately uninstalled it.
This app is amazingly useful, I use it every time I go to the sea. Great if you are planning to walk across an estuary or along a beach. Also really interesting to see how much tide times vary at closely located places.
An excellent app. Very easy to use and provides all the information needed (day/date, low/high tide, time and height) whether that is for one day only or a full week.
I love it. I live on the water and use it must everyday. It's quick and not complicated like most tide table websites. It's easy àccessible and easy to read. That's good when your out in the boat and don't have time to scroll.
User friendly app! Living in FL a few miles from the beach knowing the tides is important. Weather planning a beach walk or day on the beach it's helpful to know the tides when making my plans, and placing my umbrella, chairs, etc. This application keeps me informed. The additional info on sunrise, moonrise, etc is also good to have.
Would be great if I could put terms into high and low instead of ebb and slack. I don't even know what that means. Obviously very technical terms but would love the option to change it to high and low so I can understand it. I had to delete it 5 mins after installing it. Too difficult to figure out.
Could be so good if it cached tides, but it doesn't. Result is when your out on the water, or out of range the screen is blank even if you viewed tides that morning. Also the next tides can be confusing, or at least irritating when you see low instead of high.
I use this app especially in summer to find out when it's high tide in Auckland great for swimming opportunity, and low tide for low tidal walks around the coast, also checking sunrise and sunset, good for long trips where daylight is important, it works for me. Thanks.
Whenever I am in or planning to visit coastal areas of Florida and California I am often reviewing local current and future conditions of oceans, bays and other inland waterways. Based on my experience over several years ago at least hundreds of checks I've considered Tides near me data to be highly reliable. The graphics are very simple illustrations of what might otherwise be presented as highly complex data. I fish and often plan outings based on data from this app.
Oh dear... It all looked good. We live near the coast, so I thought a tide time app would be interesting. This one fitted the bill and on the day I installed it, it worked a dream. But next time I wanted to know the tide, it just kept telling me there was a connection error. So, for the one day it worked I'd give it 5 stars. But minus 3 for not being able to use it more than once.
