Asking for your money back doesn’t have to be difficult. Using Tikkie, you can have friends pay you back quickly and easily over WhatsApp. It’s completely free and it doesn’t matter which bank you are with. Anyone can use Tikkie!
When to use TikkieTikkie comes in handy when you have paid for someone else and you want your money back. You might have paid for:
- drinks with your university friends;
- post-match drinks with your team;
- tickets for a festival.

Just a WhatsApp awayUsing Tikkie, you send a payment request over WhatsApp. The request will contain a link which your friends can use to pay you back. So you no longer need to exchange account numbers! Your friends do not need to have Tikkie but they do need to have a Dutch current account and be at least 18 years of age.

iDEAL paymentsYour friends will reimburse you by making iDEAL payments using their own banking app. No transaction costs will be charged and the money will be transferred directly into your bank account. So you don’t need to have a balance in Tikkie.

Summary of your payment requestsYou can view the current status of each request by going to the summary screen in the app. If it's taking ages for you to get your money back, you can always send a quick reminder.

ABN AMRO initiativeTikkie is an ABN AMRO initiative. This means your information is secure. ABN AMRO will only use your information for the purposes of payment requests. Your information will not be used for commercial purposes.

It's def a good app. Better than any alternatives out there. But like any other app it has room for improvement. For example, it would be great for an alternative to the open tikkie function. It would be nice if a one could mention a amount and in the settings one could allow for the person to add on top of that amount (as a sign of appreciation).

It's ok but too much work. It doesn't properly read the code from SMS, doesn't allow you to paste it, or to paste the bank account number, have to type and switch apps multiple times

Tikkie not working. I have deleted and reinstalled the app 4 times now, but am unable to put in any amount after the € sign. I read somewhere that the Dutch version is still working? How do I install the Dutch version. It is really frustrating as I have now reinstalled 4 times. I have the latest Android 11 phone version. Tikkie worked fine before, but now it is impossible to enter an amount.

The app indicates my bank account is not confirmed. I proceed with confirming it, it asks for the last name. I enter it correctly, it is happy. However next time I start the app the bank account is again not verified. Whenever I create a Tikkie and want to share it, it mentions 'er is iets fout gegaan, neem contact met ons op' (something has gone wrong, contact us)

It is not possible to use the app with an international phone numbers. I see this as a limitation. iDeal is for Dutch Bank accounts, thus I don't see the necessity of having a Dutch mobile phone number (which is used only for registration) in order to transfer money. The two things should be quite disentangled in my view. Possible to see a new release soon with this feature?

For a long time the app was perfect. But 3 weeks ago I got the message "tikkie could not connect to the server" and it didnt go away, while I was connected to wifi and/or data. I deleted the app and downloaded it today, and I still get the same message. Please fix this.

Terrible app. I've been unable to access the app for quite some time. Every time I try to open it, it closes immediately. I can't find the reason why it does this.

I have recently changed my name in the app due to a legal change of the same nature, but while in app the name is changed, in the tikkie sent out, it is not. I uninstalled and reinstalled and accidentally made a typo in my first name and the problem was the same. Other than that, great app! 😊

Can't verify the number. Need to contact them, but no info in the app how to contact them. If it works, it is great, but when you can't switch phones, it becomes a pain in the *ss. Need to change to a new bank that let's you send these things from banking app

Recently installed Tikkie on a new phone. Existing and previous tikkies didn't show up which is a bit of a shame. Generally this is a good app but basic things like transferring data from an old phone to a new phone have been overlooked.

I havent used this app for a thew months and it keeps using my camera. I read the other reviews from people who had the same problem and the awnser whas or: it has to do with qr scanning or: ot is a bug thats fixed in the latest update, but i havent used qr scanning for like half a year and i have installed all the updates. But i did 2 stars instead of 1 because maybe im wrong.

Layout is screwed up, can not see the full amount typed. Trying to send to fb messenger opens the wrong app, same for copy link. Support tells me to reinstall my phone 🙄, I'll use ING app from now on Reply to janwalter: I've reinstalled the app,which did not resolve the problem. Re-installing the whole phone seems too much trouble and as other apps do work just fine when sharing I think the issue should be fixed in the app!

The app is great. There is one UI feature that I wished you could give more attention. In order to change [everyone] to [number of people], a +/- button should also exist, as it is one click compared to click/scroll/click. Edit: Thanks for the response.

The UX is horrible. It doesn't work well with other ABN apps. Going through the setup was clunky and I couldn't paste my bank details because the input fields were separated. Emojis are everywhere. There's no English option.

Shows spam that cannot be turned off (sponsoring posts like 'would you donate'). One star until resolved. Response 1: yes, spam = every tikkie asking for money that I did not create or added. Response 2: why do I need to send a print screen? Do you know the app? It even says so in the conditions of the app (e.g. campaigns will be shown to every user which are deemed relevant). There is no option to opt out of these campaigns. Just create an option to opt out and I will change my review.

Not working for three weeks, "Sorry, something's gone wrong. We are working on a solution for this." Is not very informative. Edit: error resolved after help and discussion with the support team. To use Tikkie you need to temporarily disable adguard.

I can't register with my Italian number. I have been living in the Netherlands for 2 years and use that number for everything here it says I need to have a German Dutch or Belgium number, you should really add all the countries. And I have Abn Amro which is one of the main Dutch banks, I should be able at least to login with that account. I'm glad you read the review, hope you can implement this in the future
