Straightforward and flexible, Time to Pray draws you into a centuries-old tradition of prayer that continues to be shared across the world today.
Many people choose to take time in the day for a daily Quiet Time, for reading the Bible and for praying. Time to Pray helps you to do this with the Church of England's Prayer During the Day, a short, simple service of prayers, psalms and readings that can be done at any time of day. The app presents everything you need to carry out Prayer During the Day, with variations according to the day of the week and the season of the Church’s year.
You can use Prayer During the Day on its own, as your sole act of prayer and praise, or you can use both Prayer During the Day and Night Prayer

The app allows you to:
- Access Prayer During the Day, a short, simple service of daily prayer, psalms and readings from Common Worship.
- Follow a simple pattern of daily prayer that varies according to the season and day of the week (with a four-week cycle in ‘Ordinary Time’).
- Access a simple service of Night Prayer, together with guidance on beginning and sustaining a pattern of regular prayer and Bible study.
- Make room for prayer and stillness wherever you are, with a simple, beautiful interface and offline access to all content.
- Bookmark your own favourite prayers, adjust text size, use day/night display and show/hide the status bar according to your needs.
The app is free to download and use for four weeks. A small annual subscription fee allows you to use a year’s worth of content offline and access material up to 12 months in advance.
Time to Pray has been developed by Aimer Media and Church House Publishing, Official Publisher of the Church of England, developers of several acclaimed apps for worship including Daily Prayer (shortlisted for ‘App of the Year’ at the Premier Digital Awards 2015).

I had problems last fall with the dates lining up on this app, so uninstalled it. I checked back today and found the issue was resolved. A wonderful app; I especially like the audio feature. I look forward to using it particularly during Lent. Thank you!
Very good on the whole, but the text doesn't always match the audio. Also, and more frustrating is the way it jumps onto another day when scrolling down. Not conducive to focussing on worship!
I like the new look app but having used the original one for some time I am now finding that when I touch the screen to scroll up or down it jumps to the previous or next day. Very frustrating and time consuming!
Firstly I never write reviews, but this app is so good, I had to say how good it was and to encourage you to use it Beautiful services to join in with. I love the fact that the service is read aloud which isn't so in other apps I've used. I love the Compline service, which over time is simple enough to learn so you can use it without needing to look at the words. I like the fact you can pause it, so at the prayers you can pause it to add your own prayers. I would definitely recommend this app.
Good concept and mostly works well but some issues. The swipe to change day is unnecessary and often results in changing days mid-audio whilst scrolling down which resets it. Also sometimes the text does not match what is happening on the audio.
I love the new layout and audio but every time I try to scroll through the prayers while listening to the audio, the page reloads to a different day, which makes the app currently unusable. I'm sure it's just a beta glitch which can be ironed out?
The app takes a lot of data. I have Time to Pray and Daily prayer on my phone and Time to Pray takes more data even though I use Daily prayer much more and it takes a long time to open/load. Other than that it's good 🙂
Having difficulty since latest update, gets stuck on "loading". Usually a great app, and I appreciate that the services are a shorter option than morning and evening prayer. Suits busy parents!
Great app. I use this and the Daily Prayer app as Daily Prayer doesn't have midday Prayer. Combining them both into one would be great, don't mind paying a bit more for a one subscription than for buying two separate ones. Keep up the good work!
Really useful and helpful app. The fact that the audio is also available on Spotify makes it it's even better!
Occasionally doesn't play whole service and cuts out. Sometimes will not load. When working well it's brilliant.
Looks good but it doesn't load for ages and then when you scroll down it jumps to another day. Pretty much unusable.
I recommend this App and have really enjoyed the Easter Services. There was a slight problem audio but this been fixed. Very good app please go ahead and enjoy and be Blessed +
A really useful app, I use it alongside 'Daily Prayer' - my only recommendation is that the two be combined for the ease of those who use Prayer During the Day alongside the major offices...?
Really very useful and Good and works well but it sometimes needs reinstalling if it crashes which it does once in a while
The app is good. And as St Paul says Prayer always Pity psalm written and psalm said are mainly different again but guess it just as it is
Good for short prayer time and it's nice to have audio as well
Love being able to follow the podcast of the service and wow sound added now superb.....I no longer feel lonely
I have used this app for years, paid to be able to use it off line - now I can't!!!! Now it is of limited use.

Very Good. An excellent App from The Church of England.
I love this app and use it to begin and end every day. I particularly love the Psalms when sung - so beautiful - and the use of different and contrasting voices. However a problem has recently occurred. Notifications appear constantly..... "Checking for new data" and "Downloading audio". These obliterate the text, have become a distraction and spoiling what had been, until recently, the perfect way to start and end each day with prayer. Apart from this, "Time to Pray" is perfect. Thank you
