How it Works:
• TimesApp displays a list of all the apps on your phone. You can create home screen shortcuts for the apps you want to launch with a time limit. You can also launch apps from this list itself if you don't want home screen shortcuts.
• A time limit dialog pops up using which you set a time limit for the app and then the app is launched.
• When the time limit is reached and your app is still being used (usage permission required), a dialog pops up notifying you of the same. From here you can either close the app or use the app for another 1 minute. If the app is not being used at the end of time limit, a notification is shown instead of a dialog (usage permission required).
Permissions Required:
•App Usage Stats: Permission to access your app usage stats is required in order to determine whether the launched app is being used at the end of the time limit. No data is saved and this permission is only used at the end of time limit. The app can function without this permission too but TimesApp is unable to determine the current app being used and a dialog is displayed(instead of a notification) even if app was closed earlier, thus spoiling the user experience.

Useful though I wish I could alter how much time I can add when the time has run out. It also freezes my ability to open any app on my phone if I tap on an app with this timer and then don't follow through with opening it. I have worked out a trick to make my phone work again but it's tedious
Would love to see an option that pauses timer when app not on screen. Also a countdown timer in notifications would be nice. Annoying feature exists where if another app is open (not timed) when a timer expires, it closes the currently opened app. For example, I had a Facebook timer running when writing this review expire which caused the play app to close resulting in me having to rewrite this review...
Simple, light, and effective app. Only missing an option to stop you going back to the app right after time's up... Is anything like this planned for the future? EDIT: i understand Android doesn't allow you to stop other apps completely, but wouldn't it be possible to just "minimize" the blocked app if I try to open it?
somehow there is no effect of the limit? i can set the limits but it does not notify me when i have reached my limit at all. not sure why this app doesn't work for me. notifications for this app were enabled yet still able to use my apps freely depsite the limit being set.
Would be great if it didn't stop timing after a few days. Uninstall, reinstall only works for a week or so each time. Samsung s9
I like the concept, however I don't like that it only limits once. If I set tik tok to 15 minutes it should limit me within a certain time period to that limit permanently, not just once.
This was great until I upgraded my phone to Android 10. Now it doesn't alert me when the timer completes, the notification just disappears.
Wanted this to limit my you tube usage. all it does is make a second shortcut, what is thr point? this is useless, i don't undeestand why someone wasted their time with this.

Time limit is too short for me, i need atleast 4 hours or more to stop my phone from running games

Awesome, much needed app
Do this app is a really cool idea hindered by 1) annoyance: having to force kill the application to get the 'counting down' notification to go away if I stop using an app early; and more importantly 2) lack of teeth: when the timer runs out, the app is simply shifted to the background. It's a three tap process to bring up the Recent Apps screen, swipe right, tap the window that you intended to not use anymore.
