Does the job pretty well, but it's an extensive battery hogger even when it is not in use. I was wondering what was taking up my phone's battery until I looked into battery usage. I was surprised how such a tiny app can use so much battery. Guess some optimizations are required before this can be the perfect app.
Great app, but if you forget to stop the server it will drain your battery. Like 50 % of it in 2 or 3 hours. Other than that, 5 stars. An timer option to auto shutdown in x minutes of standby set by the user whould fix it. Thank you for the great app. Edit: it turn itself on and kill the battery. Install, use it, uninstall ultil developer fix it.
Great ! excellent! what else can you expect. exactly what i needed for file transfer between laptop and phone without cable. tiny, fast, simple and I say elegant. wondering if i could mount ftp as windows drive ?
Use with caution. Somehow this app turns the itself on after reboot. So you have a running ftp server and a WAKELOCK. If you turn the server off manually, it will be fine. If you forget to do so... Anyway it seems this is the only working ftp server on latest android version.
Earlier It didn't have this timestamp issue but now while viewing/copying files/folders, It is not sending full timestamp to client. As result, copied files are having different time/date stamp than the originals in phone.
Worked fine using Filezilla at the other end as client. (On Win10.) Could also access files through Chrome, but not through Edge.
Tried many FTP servers and file manager but didn't work. This works.
Fatal flaw-- DateModified in directory listings is always GMT-- this app doesn't provide an option for setting time zone. 2022jan18-sls
Nice effort but it is impossible to transfer files into external sdcard. Marshmallow
I use it on a media box with Lan . It's not possible to access server from outside the local net because I cannot set the ip, it get an 127.0.0.1 generic without possibility to forward to this ip on router. Please make possible to can change ip address
Finally got a working ftp server app!!! On this app, should include the complete address need to connect to this server (that is, ftp://192.aaa.aa.a.:port)
worked well but used 52% of the phones battery even while not being used seems excessive for a relatively simple app

I had high hopes. However, with the server started, other devices could not connect. That may be due to this app not optimised for my device? The configuration screen seemed OK, just that there was no connection. Uninstalled.

A great tiny FTP server for android ! All the configuration options are in a single window, it's free and it's without ads (I simply don't use apps with ads, I buy commercial apps or I gratefully use free apps when they are really free). I use this program to connect to my phone using Total Commander on Windows and copy files in both directions. Thanks to Leonardo for this little gem.
