Currently very slow. Often unresponsive. Also lacking several common flashcard app features. If a word has multiple meanings (e.g. "a, an, one") either you can write your flash cards so that you are only asked for one (and only one is correct) or be forced to respond with all three in a particular order. If you want to add more information to a word but don't want to have to type it all out every time you answer, too bad. If you want to distinguish between singular and plural for instance, you could put those terms in brackets alongside the word, but then you will have to type out "(singular)" every time you give an answer. The one benefit is that it is easy to find cards which fit nicely with a Duolingo course. However, this is mostly due to the efforts of the community, as most Duolingo courses are not published as official flashcards.

Tiny cards has always been a great idea. I always had a terrible time with other online flashcard apps, but this one works because cards are broken into groups to study. It's my go-to for classes, and I've introduced most of my classmates to it. At least half of the ASU Beebe vet tech program is in your debt. However, I have noticed that, since returning from this summer, the app isn't functioning as well. It has a terrible lag and sometimes locks up. I thought it was because I had changed phones, but I notice others have reported this issue, too. This really needs to be fixed before the app is back to everything it was before. As ideas for future updates, I would LOVE to see the 150 card cap on decks removed. (The vet tech program has rather large tests sometimes.) It would be nice if we could also add more than 3 facts on the back of a card. Thanks again for this app, and I hope to see improments soon!

These are incredibly useful. There are thousands of self-made flash card sets available, but the really best thing is that you can create your own. Anything that you struggle to remember, if it can be reduced to words or simple sentences, or even equations, you can very easily make a good set. The way it works and prompts you when you make a mistake is perfect for memorisation. I use it for languages, but any kind of learning can probably work. The list is limited only by your imagination!

To be clear, I absolutely loved this app on my old Galaxy S7. But now it's completely unusable on my Pixel 2. If I try to access any of my decks it hangs up and freezes every. Single. Time. I've deinstalled/reinstalled multiple times to no avail. Very unfortunate because it's a great concept and, for me, was very helpful, but it's basically garbage now that I can't do a thing on it.

My original review was more in depth about how it could be used with Duolingo and to learn vocab and other languages, though since high quality Google Play here deleted that entirely, I'll just summarize that it has a lot of potential but is buggy sometimes which can be annoying to use and confusing to learn, especially if it marks you incorrect when you're not and you're trying to learn the material. Also, most of the content would work very well with flash cards like these, but is implemented in a way that is counterintuitive to how flash cards are designed.

Full of bugs. The language cards from Duolingo never update the audio. Most of the words are missing audio. There is no way to force an update of the audio for the cards. It's incredibly frustrating. You cannot use the back button to navigate. Sometimes it works. Most of the time nothing happens. Now there is no experience transferred to my Duolingo account. This has been ongoing for more than a month. I refuse to use this app anymore until there is some developer support.

Wow. Where this app has been all my life? It's truly great and I use it mostly for learning languages and it does really help you memorise it much quicker. You can also make your own flashcards. I have 2 issues though. It's really annoying when I put something in search bar, pinned and then it takes me back to scroll again from begining instead where I left off. And another is that it would be nice to hear how to pronauce the word in foreign languages. It would help a lot in memorising it.

I haven't been using it for very long but I have found a few issues. At the end of a lesson it will just stay as a blank screen and I can't back out of it without losing my progress, which is rather annoying. Also, I noticed the pictures were covering up part of the multiple choice questions so I can't see tue options/answers. Otherwise it's great and overall, I like it so far.

It is a useful flashcard app, but it is a little buggy. When I edit cards, the cards themselves tend to scroll into the UI and are covered as I scroll down (a picture best shows it but I can't send pictures here), as well as blank space showing on the right if I accidentally scroll to the left. If it weren't for the minor bugs this app would easily be 5/5 stars.

It can be a good app but it needs improvements. It's so slow and doesn't work most of the time. For instance when i finish a lesson, and press "continue" nothing happens and then i have to close the app and it doesn't save my progress so i won't be able to study "lesson 2". It also doesn't work when i try to close a lesson. Please fix these problems.

very cute and fun, and could be useful. EXCEPT, for some unclear reason, when I finish like 5 cards, it pauses almost ten seconds. makes the experience very uncomfortable. I want to run through these "tiny" cards, but it's laggy and slow... like, what could it possibly be "computing" there, that takes a whole ten seconds?? And this, on Galaxy Note 9, a fast device. Duolingo runs twenty times faster! this doesn't make sense, and is the only reason I avoid using this app.

It's great for reviewing other subjects, but it's not as helpful if you're trying to review Spanish. I like how they have the option to reverse learning (sometimes you translate the Spanish word into English, sometimes you translate the English word). But they should allow an answer to still be right if you forget the article (el, la). Also, they allow you to make a card have two meanings, but they make you recall the other meaning as opposed to the term itself, which gets really confusing.

It is a lot better than Anki, with the possibility to add images and audio very easily. But the app is very slow to use, I don't know why. Very slow to get back from a deck. Usually I have to quit the app and open it again to go to another deck. Edit: I found out that using the website from the phone is the same as the app but a lot faster. It set a shortcut on the home using Chrome.

This app is nice. It's great for reviewing what you already learned. Plus, it helps with spelling and learning nouns' genders (feminine, masculine or neutral). It has a great design, and its easy interface makes you feel like you're playing a game than doing a review. I especially like that it covers a wide range of subjects, not just languages, and you can make your own deck. It' a real shame they quit updating it. Duolingo really should start working on it again.

It could be a great app but the poor implementation IMHO makes it almost unusable, at least for learning languages. And now it even reduces my progress whenever I finish a lesson. I'd be happy to score it 5/5 if: 1) the progress loss speed would be adjustable, 2) a real spaced repetition algorithm would be added (so far it only works within a single lesson) 3) the "exercise" lesson would keep going until stopped (now it ends after a few words, resting it takes a bit of time) 4) the back button behavior would be improved (not it barely works) 5) bugs would be solved (like the already mentioned loss of progress when accomplishing a lesson or a lesson which keeps repeating in the exercise mode).

(To those that don't know, or are considering this app, Tinycards is now disabled) I used Tinycards both to help me memorize the words in duolingo and to study for college tests. I enjoyed the fact that it was connected to my duolingo account the most. If I could suggest anything to duolingo, it would be to add something similar in that app to help people memorize the words. It is sad to see it go, but I enjoyed it for the time it was there.

This is great for quick reviewing, and I like that the duolingo sets add xp to my duolingo streak. What I don't like is that when I turn off the sound effects in the settings, it doesn't work and I still hear effects and the audio when reviewing. Very annoying because I like listening to music while reviewing. Otherwise, the app is pretty good.

I was using the app for my college courses and loving it, until they removed the feature to turn the app into landscape mode for my tablet. I do not know why they did this, but it is only for people with Samsung or Android tablets. It seems that iPads can use the landscape feature just fine for some reason. I can not help but think that the creators are being biased against the consumer's choice of hardware. I like this app, but I might go to another app that keeps their basic features to all hardware brands. It is sad to see such a simple thing they have taken away in some sort of bias come to this app. If they ever fix it, this will definitely be the best flashcard app on any app store.

it was perfect... when it was online. I don't understand why they would get rid of it as opposed to moving it into duolingo, though maybe thats on the table for the future. if you're looking for a replacement, I found an app named "Flashcards" that lets you make your own decks. I started remaking the katakana one I was doing before it sbut down, and at first brush seems an alright replacement. (though I'll struggle to replace the hiragana mnemonics deck :'|)

Like the idea, its just... so so so so so badly designed. It frequently doubles my input, freezes or refuses to load images. The worst part imo is that text wraps around, cutting words in half instead of making them fit by properly resizing the font or stretching spaces to make text fit. WHY?? Who thought that was even remotely a good idea?? Please let us format our text (center, underline, bold, etc.) Also, the cards are way too zoomed in while making decks. I would like to see both cards without having to scroll side to side. It is completely unnecessary and bad design. I do not think I can use this app again until changes are made.

This app hasn't worked properly for a LONG time, there are a few issues with the user interface. For example clicking the x icon to close a lesson does nothing, other than making the screen go grey. Like it wants to do something, like a confirm prompt isn't displaying when it should? Overall the ux is sluggish, perhaps because it's trying to be too clever with transition animations etc. It's a shame because the web app is really nice.

Despite all of the glitches, like duplicating the lessons I'm working on in the home screen between every lesson, this app really helped me learn vocab to help me keep going successfully in DuoLingo. Now, suddenly none of my lessons are counting toward my XP, it won't let me sign out, reinstalling the app didn't work. HELP! Please fix the many bugs, especially whatever is keeping duo from connecting and advancing me.

This is the best flashcard app and tool for both mobile devices and PC!!!! It syncs easily and you can create your own flashcards with images and words in seconds! Or find sets from others. It quizzes in different ways for comprehensive learning. I was looking for a flashcard app like this to make sets for my student, an 8 year old nonverbal boy with autism and this is the perfect resource! Thank you Duolingo!!! ♥️

The app is fine. Since duolingo canceled experience gain via this app, it now lack the same thing that motivate us to learn. Off course we are not here for the exp, but we all know how hard it is to study consistently. The rivalry and competition introduced by leagues is a great motivator, and I hate they took tinycards off of that. Maybe 2 satrs is too harsh, so 3.but I hope my point is getting threw. As much as a well built of an app it could be - it's more important to assist us keeping on.

There is so much I like about the idea of this app but it is extremely unreliable. Some days it works and some days it doesn't at all. Most days when I open the app it is just a white screen. It doesn't function to have your flashcards sometimes available and sometimes not. I hope they fix the app but for reliability I would look elsewhere for your flashcard needs. Update: since writing this review 20 days ago I have not been able to open this app at all. It just gives a white screen

Could really use a lot of improvement as far as creating personal notecards. I don't know about built in card packs but when when I'm trying to study using cards I made it isn't very effective. For some reason is separates all your cards into packs of 5 and in order from how you made them. I already know the order of it so no having an option to have shuffled packs is super annoying. Plus I would like to access all cards at once in a shuffled order but I have yet to find such option. Its only real purpose is to have a place to make your notecards but has no way to personalize study styles. If I just wanted a place to right the words down I could get any other app that would probably actually have a shuffle option. I only use this app because it has other built in decks that I plan to get to.

I'm using Duolingo a lot and wanted use TinyCards to review words while commuting, but the app would constantly hang, slow or be unresponsive. When trying to press anything it would require from me to keep pressing for 1-2 seconds and the reaction would be delayed by another 2-3 seconds, also the phone would get very hot, something I never had any issues with. My phone is Xiaomi Mi A1.

I used to really like this app and I still like the idea behind it. But lately the mobile version has been very unreliable--randomly getting kicked off screens, pages not loading, progress not being tracked, etc. Until these issues get fixed I'm going to have to drop this app from my daily practice routine :(

Abh. M. Sep 19, 2018

Unable to crop images. Three different issues: 1) the image does not get loaded for cropping when I give crop, 2) sometimes, after cropping, the following message "card images could not be loaded" is displayed, 3) when I want to just display the image in full, it is a cumbersome process and also the space is not fully utilised to display it, causing it to be small and unclear.
