Toggle Cell

I don't think this is going to work on Lollipop (android 5.1). I used to use this all the time to prevent call handover to a poor cell signal and to save battery while at home and work. After I updated to Lollipop the cell signal remains on. Mcollins please come back and help us Republic Wireless users. Thank you for making this simple and useful app.

Amazing app that is so useful as my phone will make calls over wifi so I didn't need my cell radio enabled. The only issue is that every several months, the app starts showing my cell radio as disabled when it's actually enabled so the app doesn't disable it and it remains on. The only way to fix it is to uninstall the app and then reinstall it.

Can't believe it worked on newest KitKat without root, thank you so much! For people who only use cell for data (tablets or phone VoIP) this is a godsend, my Z3 Compact will save 15% battery Cell Idle now.

Here lately, and its happening more and more often, people say my phone goes straight to VM. And when I try to call out it says turn off airplane mode? Turning off Toggle Cell fixes this, but then my battery life is shot due to no / 1 bar cell coverage at my house. Shame, used to be the most helpful app I had. Friend with republic I having same issue at his house. Same situation. Poor cell coverage, gets Airplane mode warning.

This is what I needed at my home with poor ATT signal draining my battery. It needs some imptovements, clean wifi history, and sometime it will not turn of GSM by it self and I have to manualy set OFF and ON , but great app

Mine stopped working after the latest RW update. Battery started draining faster, and the cell radio icon at the top was not blacked out. To fix it, go to the Play Store, go to My Apps, select the RW app and uninstall (it does not completely uninstall the app, just the update). Reboot your phone, then go back to the Play Store. Select the app again and Update it. Now my cell signal icon is blacked out again, and the battery is draining slower. Getting 1% drain per hour while in standby while connected to my home wifi. THANKS!

This is a GREAT app - one that has been a long LONG time in coming! A nice addition would be the option to toggle the cell based upon a daily schedule rather than access to WiFi (or in addition, rather), but even just as it is, it's WORLDS better than toggling Airplane mode 4 times a day. THANK YOU!!! Also, I would just like to note how QUICK and RESPONSIVE the app dev has been - I must have exchanged 6 or 7 emails with him. Cordial, professional, and very good at solving problems!

This software may not be useful for everyone. It was made with RepublicWireless subscribers in mind. I have poor cellular service at home but my WiFi was carefully optimized to cover my home. Using Toggle Cell I can squeeze a little extra life out of my phone.

Worked great on moto x 1st gen until recently, now I frequently miss calls, or can't place calls without a warning to "turn off airplane mode" first, which shouldn't be necessary since Wi-Fi is on... Seems like this app was broken by an update sometime this year which is really too bad because the battery savings were awesome!! Come on RW, build this functionality into your native app! Pretty please!

Works wonderfully. I would like to be able to set a threshold to enable cell service in the event of a weak WiFi signal, as I'll probably be moving to an area with better cell service.

Using Moto g and moto es as tablets with much success. Occasionally the cell modem turns on and I have to reboot.

I don't seem to have issues, maybe earlier on but it's been fine enough to leave out installed. I would like to see it optimized for moto g also though :)

The cell radio is shown to be disabled but 63% of my battery is consumed by the mobile stand by (cell radio). Not recommended.

App works great with Moto G on Republic. It saves a lot of battery. There's an option to enable cell during calls in case Wi-Fi drops out, which to me is a neat, thoughtful feature.

Seemed like I might have had a little glitch after I first installed it with it saying the cell radio was turned off when it wasn't but it seems to be working fine now. UPDATE: Definitely not turning off the cell radio when it says it is.

There could be some more customization, however this uses very little power and memory as is so it's exactly what I need.

Shuts off antenna as described without a lot of unnecessary permissions. Doesn't switch back to antenna after wifi is disabled/left. Work around is to toggle airplane mode. Thanks for the app.

App worked great until I got the lollipop update. This app is a huge battery saver when its working. Makes Republic wireless devices a dream machine.

This app is great (moto x 2013) doubled my battery life. Highly recommend if around WiFi a lot and you use google voice all day everyday.

Those having cell standby draining battery issue should use this app. (CM 11 user)

Unlike the other app I've used before to shut off the cell radio on devices I don't have cell service for and only use on wifi anyway, this one seems to work on my Moto E and should help me conserve battery. Thanks!

Works on my Moto G. I was looking for way to control my cell usage as I prefer Wifi calling with Hangouts to save cell minutes/text/data on Tracfone. I found no other app that does this. I sent you a cup of coffee to your email with Google Wallet.

This is a great app for conserving battery. However I occasionally miss text messages. May or may not be related to the app.

I tried using this and it worked for a few hours then when my moto g went to standby it came back on. Tried turning on and off again and still the cell shows being on. Hope they fix it. (KitKat 4.4.4)

Did exactly as it needed to. lets you place toggle on home screen. Old android couldn't have cell antenna off when wifi is on. (Airplane mode at the time was all radios off) Also lets you not disconnect/reconnect to WiFi on newer Androids when going into airplane mode.

I normally put my phone in airplane mode and then turn om WiFi when overseas to avoid even getting on a foreign network, but a bug in my kyrocera prevented VPN from running while in airplane mode. This allows the same functionality as airplane mode but without blocking VPN access.

Excellent battery saver! If you're on Republic Wireless you NEED this app to save battery with strong WiFi or weak Cell! Dev did an exceptional job! Kudos!
