So far i've had the same recurring issue, even reported the issue directly to token transit. I purchase through the GET agency, so single ride passes are $1.65. Despite having a strong internet connection, as well as money on my card, taking screen shots of myself activating the passes, and when they'd have a constant loading icon on the screen, and not activating, they haven't actually been helpful. It's very frustrating to use from time to time. Several passes failed to activate constantly.
I like the convenience this app provides. But why, after a 7 day pass has been purchased and activated, do I sometimes require access to the internet to bring up my pass? It's on my phone, with a start and expiration date. Or is it? Because I have metered internet and don't keep it on continuously, it's frustrating when I attempt to access my already activated pass and it informs me there is no internet. Why???
Edit: if you use nova launcher and a semi fast SD card this app has a likely chance to wipe the contents of the SD card. Does what it needs to do..kinda. Will freeze your phone (not screen, app functions including on/off) requiring hard reset (holding power button to force shut down the power) , hard crashing to boot (reseting itself unexpectedly) and other problems.
The app is not letting me login, no text messages have been sent to my phone for verification. The MAX bus took my $5 because there is no exchange on the bus, so i decide to use the app. Unfortunately It's not working.
Used to love this app as I had no issue purchasing passes for my bus ride home from work. Ever since they did an overhaul on the system on 2/7/22 I have been unable to purchase a pass. I thought the update on 2/10/22 would have fixed it but it did not. Now I have to pay cash when I get on the bus. Hopefully there is another update soon so I can purchase my passes on this app again.
For whatever reason my phone is not supported by the app and every morning I get on the bus and have to argue about it because they don't want to accept the visual ticket despite it flashing it being a monthly dated and time stamped it's still a problem
Token transit is the best digital pass holder I've seen and is very helpful to be able to purchase my bus passes from the app.
Barely functions. Bluetooth has not worked a single time and it's slow to pull up the manual screen, so you stand there blocking the bus line tryint to get it working. I use Bluetooth all the time for other things and have never had any issues. Almost everyone else I've witnessed use it has had the same problem. Then the app gets mad because "You can only tap once every 15 seconds." Why!? Technology is supposed to make things easier and faster. This is utter garbage.
This app has saved my bacon more than once when I needed to catch a bus and either didn't have the cash fare or didn't have time to run around finding the change. One suggestion for an added feature that would be somewhat useful is a countdown timer on the page showing the ride pass that counts down the eligible transfer time. I have coded for Android in the past so I know this is a trivial feature to add. Maybe consider it? In any case, thanks for the app!
Worked great until today, now opening the pass hijacks my volume controls. It lowers the media to zero without pausing it and sets the volume button to adjust the in call volume. It's a hassle to go and fix it every single time. Edit: it stopped doing it all of a sudden. Now it works perfectly, just like it used to.
Does not work sometimes. I keep clicking my pass that has 28 days left and click it while connected to the internet. Not worth the potential headache or embarrasment. I haven't had this issue until tonight and I tried everything short of uninstalling the software. I will try that next. It was nice not losing the physical pass but that seemed a little more reliable.
Our university switched to this, and it's honestly been a source of stress. I should have free busing as a student, but sometimes (especially in the cold) the pass won't load so the bus driver will accuse me of trying to fool him, and then I'll have to frantically find some cash at risk of missing class or not being able to go home. The physical version was so much more reliable. The concept is great, but I think more work could be done to make it less dependent on ideal WiFi conditions.
THE worse transit app I've ever used or seen. The app crashed 6 times upon the completion of a purchase on my phone. Each time it returned directly to the home screen without informing me that it had charged the credit card (1st flaw); worse still it did not display any pass nor ticket that I had paid for when I re-opened the app (2nd flaw), making us thought that the previous transactions were not successful and attempted to try again. A total of $38 was charged by the app when we were trying to buy two one-day passes without even showing a single pass/ticket on the app. In the end we had to buy our day pass from the driver for another $20 instead.
This app has saved me so many times I forgot to bring the change to metro station but now, I never buy paper tickets and just use this app. Thank you so much for the developers behind this. This is tremendously useful wherever it is supported. Hope to see it becoming standard way of buying tickets in all metro stations alongside physical tickets.
Very much dislike that this app doesn't allow me to transfer purchased rides from one phone to another without having to submit help request. Customers should be able to control their purchased rides.
This was a good app. I installed it because a friend bought me digital bus tickets and this was the only way I could go visit with him. I don't have any use for it now so I uninstalled it. It a good app and I will use it again soon.
Convenient and easy to use. Please make the expiration date on the ticket bigger so the bus drivers can read it easily when I board.
Why do you wait a week to take funds from bank accounts? I ought to start charging you $3 a day that you don't take my transit pass payment out of my account.
Excellent customer service. Got back to me the next day and solved my issue immediately.
App never works! Doesn't beep, doesn't indicate anything for the bus driver. I keep having to use visual passes, and explain to the bus driver I've already paid for that trip - and for the 10 local ride pass in the first place! I refused to pay with another form of payment like one of the users below, I'll just keep showing visual passes because this token transit needing to fix their issues in beta. It is a pilot program - improve your user experience before it's officially launched!
Look at the fees, you're charged more for buying monthly passes.
While useful and definitely far superior to needing to input change every time I find the verification of a pass lacking. Use of some time of bluetooth or wireless identifier would be a marked improvement over the current method. It's just a shame that this system is not as robust as it could be.
The app worked once, and after that it just stopped opening. I almost wasn't able to get on my bus, which happens to be my only form of transportation. Every time I would try to open the app, it would say, "token transit keeps stopping." I restarted my phone, I stopped the app, I looked for an update and nothing fixed it.
01/30/20 So far I've been loving the app, I read the reviews and was a bit worried but I figured out what works best for me. I buy a one day pass at home when connected to WiFi. When I'm out I can still pull up the pass even when I'm not connected to WiFi or data. 03/13/21 love the app still working just have to remember to pull the pass up when connect to wifi at home, now I feel more comfortable buying a week or month pass and not have to worry about wasting money.
Works well and quickly, but I can't tell my different pass types apart. I have purchased a 10 ride pass for both local and regional, but can't tell which is which. iPhone users have said they don't have a problem, but on my Samsung they all look the same. Was told the latest update would fix this, but the problem is still there on version 4.2.23
They really help you with a free 30 day pass!!
You have to re-enter your card number everytime you make a purchase. The ticket never works with or without bluetooth, I've tried multiple times & it never accepts it. Not sure if the bus drivers don't know how to operate it or if my phone is not compatible with it. I've wasted money on something that should be simple & easy to use & yet it doesn't work. XPRESS Bus should be a fast process, not a slow one.
The best thing that our local transit system has come up with for the customers in a very long time. Very convenient to use. However, I do wish that there was a way to transfer a ride pass to another person who has the app. I, also, wish that there was a way that you are able to activate your pass with wifi/bluetooth, then if you are using it at the bus stop but you don't have any internet connection, you are still able to use the pass?
