On the S22 Ultra the tuner does not recieve sound also when you sustain a note it makes a weird sound every 3 seconds. After the latest update the bug has been fixed, thank you for paying attention to your customers.
Several people in my community bands use this. It's good for practice, good for lessons, but needs tweeking for small groups.
Had issue with Samsung S22 Ultra - no tuner, sound or analysis. Metronomeworked as it did with Samsung S20 Ultra. Notified developer. Received workaround by email in a few hours. The workaround solved the issues. Great support done very quickly. Great app! I really like it. So many features, I have yet to discover them all. Highly recommend this app!!!
the app crashes when i change the orientation of my phone (landscape to portrait and vice versa)
Overall good app, but it ate my 105 day practice streak when daylight saving time happened. It now shows my previous best streak is 22 days despite never having a 22 day streak. Reached out to tech support, but the fix they suggested (recalculating the streak) did nothing. They said a future Android update to give the calendar options iOS has currently should fix it or show where the problem was, but no response to whether the glitch was related to DST or when Android update will be available.
ATTENTION S22 users. Just upgraded to a s22 ultra, app works fine but does not pick up any sound on the tuner. The tuner still works on my note 20 ultra so im guessing its a software bug on the new s series phones. SOLUTION that is working for me is to enable "allow bluetooth input" in the settings in order for the tuner to pick up notes with the built in mic
This app is so much more than just a tuner/metronome. The analysis feature is such a powerful tool that can be used in personal practice or with full ensembles. Use it to visually see the consistancy of articulations, pitch, intonation, note tendencies, quality of long tones, etc... I use this with all my students and it works miracles, giving them a visual representation of every aspect of their sound. I would highly recommend it for all musicians and educators.
As I am currently concentrating on drumming, I'm more interested in the metronome feature of this app. The thing that persuaded my decision to purchase this app is the fact that the metronome is pretty robust. I especially like the voice count, as this makes drumming to the metronome a lot easier for me. as far as the other features are concerned, I haven't really evaluated them much. I do believe that they'll be useful though since I am a multi-instrumentalist.
I love this app, it has everything I need and then some. But unfortunately recently I had to uninstall it due to very high battery drain. I personally don't think the developers have spent much time trying to optimize this app for android devices. Having to deal with constant crashes and freezing make this really hard to use. I really wish I could use this app because I love it, but being someone who is in school all day using it I cant afford to have my battery die. My wish to the developer - Spend some time optimizing it for big android flagship devices. I love android but because this doesn't work all that great on it I have many times contemplating switching to an apple device. I own a galaxy s9+
This app is a must-have for serious musicians, from students to professionals, by far among the very best apps of its kind. Amazingly intuitive and easy to use features that can be customized in many ways, allowing you to tune many musical instruments accurately using many tuning modes, including Latin American and Middle Eastern instruments, and more. I even customized it to tune Great Highland Bagpipes. Metronome is second to none, with tempo variance, multiple rhythm subdivision and more.
I am a musician and have many tuners on my phone. This app is really special for some reason and I felt it immediately. The intonation interface is calming (how? ). Plenty of temperaments and also pitch playback with different timbres for tuning by ear. The metronome has a nice tap tempo setting and I especially appreciate the tuner and metronome combo. I don't use my other apps because this one is tuning and practice all in one.
Probably the best tuner out there, but couldn't give it 5 stars because the app is so thirsty on battery power. It uses more energy than a phone call (which has to power the RF transmitter in the phone)! I would also like the tuner needle in the "Sound" page to be a bit more obvious / clear.
Really cool app with lots of options. I got it since it is recommended by several professional musicians that I like. What I miss: in the Tuner and Sound façades I would like to have a bar + value of the current loudness (which helps to practice steady tones); additionally, I would like to see the tune/pitch moving in a bar (I find it more straightforward/practical). Other than that, this is the best and/or more complete tuner that I have ever tried.
It's very rare that I have genuine passion for an app, but this app has fundamentally changed my approach to practicing, which is, to edify a major part of my life. I cannot tell you the difference being able to practice within a single cent more and less of tolerance, as well as being able to switch on a dime between just tonal centers has done for my playing. And that’s only 1 aspect of the app. If you are musician and looking for the next level, this is it.
I love this app. I noticed a small mistake in the program and I thought the developers would appreciate knowing this. Under the analysis function, after selecting "Note Staff", it is possible to select different clefs, but upon selecting the Tenor Clef, an Alto Clef is shown on the staff. And when you select the Alto Clef, a Tenor Clef is shown on the staff. This doesn't hinder functionality but you probably want to fix this.
Used to be a great app. Recommended it to everyone. But I haven't had working sound on my metronome or tone generator since my S10 updated to Android 12. Worse, it doesn't look like the developer has any intention to fix it since they haven't updated the app in 7+ months.
If you don't have this app, you're not a band director. There is no better app that combines a drone, metronome, and tuner in such a way, not to mention it is designed extremely well and looks beautiful. It can also be used for students as well to tune individually. There are too many features to talk about in the 500 characters I have, so if you take anything from this review, let it be that it is SO worth the $4.
The tuner is inaccurate. I put it in c concert and the notes are in the key of Bb
The gold standard app for any musician at any skill level.
Just updated and the touch offset is fixed on galaxy S10
They fixed the problem with the Note 22 Ultra. It works so I have revised my rating to 5 star.
Hey, thanks for responding but I was the one who emailed the fix to support on yesterday. Glad to have helped.
Once your practice streak streak gets over about 100 (not to brag lol) the app starts to slow down quite a bit, taking over 30 seconds to launch, and being overall very slow. If I use the metronome for too long, my phone will shut down entirely without warning, even at high battery. Everything else works fine, but it's pretty much unuseable because of this.
After the most recent Android and tonal energy updates, the app appears to be back to functioning as normal. I'm not sure who the credit goes to, but I am very happy to be able to use this excellent app again! I've experienced the touch offset issue only intermittently recently, so hopefully this most recent TE update fixed that.
