Would be nice to hear from VOX again. The app needs serious updates and definitely more support from the brand. I find really frustrating have to use my laptop every time I want to use some of the presents I have on .vtxprog format because there is no way to trace correctly the root through the android app. A simple file explorer would do. The app is not fluent at all, the efforts to make it look cool with all this wood effects made it just not nice, and the resolution of texts is not correct. Seems like somebody did a quick conversion to android from pc/mac and didn't pay attention to the usability of the app. I use a VT40X. Is not a gig amp, is something that the most of us use at home, and change between different modes with a well brewed app would be much easier than have to use a laptop and a mouse. I was expecting more attention from VOX, even on cheap modeling amplifiers... That's a shame.
Gives you all the options to change preset tone and guitar effects based on popular songs so you can create your own unique sound. I can not think of running my VT40x without it. You must make sure you have the correct USB cable as standard adapters don't work. Make sure it is USB B type data cable. I love the app greatly recommend it.
The app allows me to get a lot more out of my compatible VOX amplifier. You must have a compatible amp to use the app. You can install the app and check the list of supported amps if interested. I have the VOX Adio Air BS amp, which is a small portable, battery/wart version with stereo speakers for nice effects. It's nice for practice and maybe busking They do have 20, 30 and even 40 watt versions though. I really like being able to store and recall batches of setups! It's handy!
So the main issue most people seem to be having is connectivity. Hint of advice the VT20 and VT40 do not have bluetooth connectability on them so you have to use a cable. When buying the cable make sure it is a two way data cable not a charging cable. They are like 4 bucks on Amazon. Having got set up with the app I'm really happy with the tones it generates and some of the existing presets are pretty cool but needs updated. 3 stars for now but has awesome potential!
Poor connectivity, poor user interface. I have an Adio Air GT and it connects up Ok via Bluetooth, but everytime i use the app it has lost the connection so I have to put the amp back into pairing mode and then reconnect. Really annoying to have to do this every time I want to use the app. The second problem is the user interface which is absolutely horrible, the buttons and dials are tiny I often end up having to force close it as a way of resetting because its so confusing to use.
Great App to help really access the full capabilities of the Vox amps this works with. Saving tones in the banks are not quite as user friendly as it should be,but one you get the hang of it, it's amazingly easy.
Probably the most worthless app ever. Connecting to the amp is absolutely the most unintuitive process ever. I can not get it to even sync anymore. I regret buying the amp. Real amateur app.
Doesn't work well on Windows 10 laptop. Graphics aren't great in Android app. Could it not also include distortion effects for the Adio desktop amp. I have since bought a Chromebook and although the app is available for it, it will not connect to it.Poor.
Lacks any true control over sound other than tweeking the presets. Limited pedal choices. No sound chain customisations. No basic channels to add pedals etc to produce your own sound from scratch. No deep eq. Lacks everything you need to produce your own sounds too much click one of twenty sounds minimal tweeks- far too creatively limiting to be taken seriously
The 8 extra file settings do not save or load. Worthless. This app should never have been released in this state. Any one who gave this app a positive review did not explore enough of the app yet or work for Vox.
Broken. Not sure what caused it. Recently had an Android update which may be the cause. Was working last week, now opens with a black screen and nothing else happens. Using it on a Samsung A20 with VX50 GTV.
Garbage. Doesn't work. Can't connect to the Bluetooth midi on my Adio air GT. The app crashes everyone I try to choose the midi device when launching. Less than useless.
I have to update the rating since I got it to work by forcing always on USB OTG on my phone. The app however is still buggy, crashes often and does not render properly.
Used once. Paired with Adio Air GT then froze. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Now when I start the app all I get is a black screen. Beyond flakey.
It worked now it doesnt. im guessing it was when android upgraded now it says my vt40x isnt coonected. i just dropped it to two stars because it seems they dont care enough to respond to a simple question. Did the Android upgrade disabe tone room?
Can't connect with my Vox VT 100x.. I bought usb cables and an Otg cable.. Tried with 2 different devices, but it couldn't connect anyways.
the quality of the resolution is awful, on my Galaxy s9 user interface looks pitiful, too bad, VOX fix it ASAP!
Oh Yeah! Turn your Vox amp into 60+ amps using a great array of pedals. The sound and tone combinations are limitless.
I would like the app to be more detailed better graphics. It's nice that it works but it needs to look like something to...
App decides when it wants to connect to the amp, and thats mostly never. Junk!!!
App worked well untill I could no longer connect. No matter what I do I can't get the app to recognize I have my phone plugged into my VT40x
I have never had a problem with this app. I love it!! Easy to use. Forget the bad reviews. this spp is s must have I have it on Apple and Android. No problems to report.
Needs a more modern approach but is probably kept back by the amp hardware.
In Samsung s9, it doesnt work, because of the resolution. It cannot be used.
App hasn't been updated for 3 years. I regret buying this VOX amp.
Not bad, could be a bit more "new user" friendly... really wish there were an update though. On my tablet it doesn't fill the screen so there's a big bar of wasted black space on the right side. 10" screen would be much more useful if the app scaled properly and made use of the extra space.
