Not a fan, lots if good information but it never says if I'm to low or to high in the song. I even used the tuner had the pitch right there but in the song still tells me I have the wrong note. I'm bad with timing but it never says if I'm to soon or to late. Hard to improve if I'm to busy guessing on what I did wrong in the first place. Also the song asked for a B I played Bb and got a higher score.
Been using the premium version for a few months as a complete novice. It was great when you could see your progress by colour, it was easy to see which of your previous songs you could go back to an improve. Update has made this harder with the star approach. Also seriously don't understand the tuning method now, I flatten the flute hugely and it makes no difference to where the line ends up, not sure it's working for me anymore.
In this app, you follow the sheet music to the beat of a metronome and are scored on how well you play. Campaign mode has several levels of songs which gradually get more difficult. On each song, you can pass with bronze, silver, or gold. In Challenge Mode, a small selection of songs with varying difficulty levels is presented each week, and you try to get a higher score than other app users. There is also a mode where you can just pick the songs you want to play by genre.
This whole time I thought music's apps were only for piano and strings, and until now I thought I would never find a music app for flutes :') I'm currently an intermediate flute and I'm trying to find ways to improve and get 3rd chair (currently 4th). I love this app and its told me things and didnt even I could've improved on. And since I'm competitive the leaderboard is great for me since I strive to be in the top 3. I would reccomend this to any woodwind. :))
I had previously given a glowing 5* review however after using the app further I've discovered that after the initial tutorials you must subscribe to the premium app which is over £100. The app is great and if you have that money to spend go ahead. However I don't have that kind of money and it was very disappointing to learn I would not be able to progress further. I think more clarity is needed and perhaps one month subscriptions for people who cannot afford a yearly subscription.
All in all a decent enough app to teach you flute by yourself, especially since there are an unfortunate few options to compare. But the points system is horribly depressing with it's Apparent random scoring method. Which might be tolerable If you weren't held back from advancing until getting enough points. Since the three "skills" you're measured against in each lesson are all above 80% but only worth 1 star, beginners will quickly lose motivation to continue. Sad.
Not bad as a supplement for beginners or for fun as a pro. I picked it up to help me learn flute, but I am a very experienced bassist with some limited prior experience in flute. That being know there is some great things about this gem of an app: it does a great job with rhythm and instructing basics. However it has some short comings: it doesn't distinguish between slured notes and not slurred notes. I cannot wait for the more advanced classes to see how those are.
that app has so many problems. the "learn" section is really not helpful and there are not enough tasks to learn that instrument properly. The songs to play along are trashy and really badly written. The accompaniment is trash, often, the music doesn't match to the song i play. Like a country accompaniment to songs like "la donna mobile" from Verdi is really unfitting. Also the app doesn't detect my playing right. especially for the price it doesn't fulfill my expectations!
Gone through all the lessons, so I went to do the scales, warm ups and songs but they all have notes the lessons haven't covered. So, while I can keep running through the old lessons, I can't progress until more get added. Seems pointless. The app also lags often and makes it hard to move quickly from on thing to the next.
I really like this app. I like the fact that the pieces are divided into levels. I am a complete beginner and I already managed to play a few pieces from the newbie section. Practice area is a geat idea. Perhaps in the future one would be able to select a specific section where one has most difdicuties with an practise only that specific section instead of the entire piece. I really appreciate that the app has a built-in tuner. Overall I really enjoy this app.
It keept saying that I'm not getting the timing right and I have been doing band for over a year and my band director says that I hit my notes at the exact time.
I can tell this app was well thought out. After about 30 mins with the app, I can say with confidence, I have never sounded better playing B, but that's unless you want to shell out 70 dollars. At that price I could also just go to a music store and buy one of their beginner's books. I don't hate this app at all, I can tell this app is quality, but with that quality comes a 70 dollar price tag, if you're up for it.
All of the songs where either really high above the staff or they where almost below the staff and I personally like songs and music that stays on the staff or barely above, I just couldn't find any songs that where good for me. And I couldn't change the tempo it would let me press the button to change it but it wouldnt actually change.
Really love this app, I can read music but I'm advancing a lot in fast reading and reading-playing at first attempt! 30' minutes a day is a lot better than solfeggio with metronome and a lot more funny. They can improve audio/video syncronization, audio recognition in particular legato (slur) and staccato, tone intonation recognition and even the tone of the songs palyback that is a little on cheap side. well done by the way :)
Very dissapointed. The app was great and I really Enjoyed it, and progressed through only to find that after The first exam everything is premium. Its 15 pounds a month or over 100 a year- as a student that is too much for me to Pay, and it made me dissapointed. I was having fun and Progressing, Really enjoying the flute (Which i got for free, Because i cant afford things like this.) im angry, Frustrated and really upset. i dont want to stop playing but i might have to now. Dissapointed.
Wonderful for beginners who can't afford a teacher. includes instructions (+illustrations) explaining how to assemble the flute correctly and how to aim the stream of air correctly. the instant feedback through tone recognition helps me the most. works flawlessly, thank you!
Great app for practicing. However it lack ability to detect slurs. It marks that I play correct regardless of whether I respect slurs or not (which makes me lazy) and I can even split a whole note in fourth with tongue and still get the note accepted
Great app. I haven't touch my flute for over 10 years and almot forgot how to play and cannot read note anymore. it really helps to pick up again, nice job!! Everything is awesome except it's a bit expensive for subscription
Sometimes I feel that it doesn't capture my notes correctly, but it may be a problem with my mic. Still there's lots of songs to choose from.
Oh dear, and the paid version (so you can practice for more than 5 mins without ads) is very expensive. Not sure it's worth that price.
Love it! I joined band halfway through so I'm really struggling and this helps! though I do wish there was some advice for reading notes because that's the part I struggle the most with 😅 Love the app already! Great work crew keep it up
This app is excellent for me. Total beginner, didn't read music and don't play any other instruments. Love it. Can't recommend it enough.
Sir, It's the best flute learning app i ever seen (I am a beginner 🤗). I have a flute, but i don't know the scale. Can you add that feature to app? It will be more helpful. Thank you
I haven't picked up my flute in 25 years. This app has made it easy to start over. I love the feedback it gives as well.
So far I love it. Not yet ready to invest in the premium version, but hanging around with my flute while waiting for the 30 seconds advertisement to pass. Sometimes the red metronome button doesn't go with the beep sound, but I guess it is because of the connection. Thank you 😊 Very nice app for beginners like me. P.s. I bought it, it is worth. Thank you 😘
Well this app is pretty good but lately it says that the notes I play are wrong even though it showed them as right before. I tried tuning it but that did nothing. for that resson I unistalled the app.
This is the only app I've ever found to practice flute with, and it provides detailed feedback. Very impressed.
It's fun, but for beginners you should put the letter under the notes to make it easier to learn
I took flute lessons in school from grade 6-grade 12 I have learned more in the 3 days of beginner lessons with this app, than I did in 3 years of music class I stopped playing the flute around 10 years ago, and I decided last week to pick it up again. Honestly don't know how I could have done it without this app! It's worth the 6$ a month and more! I can't wait to start playing my Disney and Harry Potter music books again!!!!
