Tools & Mi Band

Get the most out of your Mi Band smart bracelet with Mi Band Tools! Set up your own, individual and fully customizable notifications for incoming calls and applications. Energize your brain during a hard day using the power nap feature, configure multi-color custom patterns for each single notification, fine-tune custom content filters and a lot more!
This application works very well with original Mi Fit application (but is no way associated with Xiaomi). This means that you can always have the latest Mi Fit version and the latest Mi Band firmware in addition to great and powerful notification features.

Features:
• Application notifications (configurable per application as well as globally).
• Incoming call notifications (configurable per contact as well as globally).
• Continuous heart rate monitoring & notifying, configurable heart rate dashboard charts (Mi Band Pulse, Mi Band 2).
• Alarm notifications (including safety sound alarm
- vibrations won't wake you up? safety sound alarm will trigger after few minutes).
• Custom repeating notifications (you can set anything you like, for example: hourly chimes, change workout reminder, take a pill reminders and more).
• Fully customizable notification patterns (including multi-color notifications, custom vibration patterns).
• Notification content filters (only interested in SMS notifications for certain people? not a problem for Mi Band Tools).
• Multiple notifications per application (thanks to this feature, you can set different patterns for single application, for example you can set WhatsApp messages from your boss in red and from your friends in blue).
• Power Nap feature (need a short nap? Just activate this and Mi Band will wake you up by vibrations when you're done resting).
• Idle Alerts (you can set an alert so the band will buzz you if you've been inactive for some time). You can also control the interval, time frame and inactivity threshold.
• Configurable notifications times (even separately for weekends) and conditions (globally and per notification).
• Advanced settings (disable non-interactive notifications, shake to dismiss power nap, disable in silence mode, disable while screen is on, ...).
• Missed notifications (notification is not lost when you are out of reach of your phone, you will get the last missed notification on reconnect).
• Fully customizable widgets (daily fitness goal progress, bracelet battery, etc).
• Export/Import Settings (to your storage or to the cloud).
• Tasker, Automagic, Automate and Locale support (advanced and fully customizable action plugins).
• Designed completely according to Google's Material Design guidelines and best practices in mind.
• Many of 'those little things', for example, application automatically detects the dominant color of an application icon / contact picture and preselects it for you.
• Fully supports all original Mi Band bracelets (including the white-only 1A version for which Mi Band Tools automatically adjusts the user interface to match the features supported by this bracelet version).
• Works on all Android versions from 4.3 to 7.0+
• Many and many more yet to come!

Before Mi Fit changed to Zepp Life, this app functioned amazingly. However, after the switch, it seems to mess up my watch more than add to it's functionality. The biggest annoyance is when I receive a phone call, my watch won't start vibrating till AFTER I pick up the call. Then it won't stop vibrating till I hit a button. When I hit the button it drops the call. So it's necessary for me to uninstall this. What a shame.

This app worked for years, but in 2021 it stopped letting me export heartrate data as CSV. The file gets prepped (i see cache use go up) but when trying to send to any app its like the app doesnt get the file. This also goes for exporting settings but at least these files are created in the open android/data/[app-name] folder so i can go get them. (I dont like using this feedback method for something fixable but i dont see any other working method for feedback, but I waited half a year.)

Decent but keeps pestering for notification access. And I'm not one to complain needlessly but this has been going on for quite some time now. Also, notification doesn't seem to adapt to dark mode, leaving an ugly white bar in an otherwise black environment. Furthermore, for some reason. Once my band starts vibrating it will do so for the next 10 minutes. One notification and it just keeps repeating itself 5 or 6 times. It's horrible.

It is very stable and reliable, but I would like to see more advanced features - other than catching up with each new Mi Band model (admittedly, very important part) it does not feel like much development is going on. What I'm really missing right now is being able to dismiss a repeating notification straight from the band (as it is, you can only dismiss a single repeat)

Nice features but inconsistent. The alert/notification customization is a strong point. However, the heart rate measurement must be improved. The measurements are very intermittent and, as far as I'm aware, the app does not provide an option to back up the data automatically. Also, the user interface is not the friendliest.

The app itself seems fine, but limitations on the band itself mean that the end result is not useful as a reliable smart alarm. Mi Band Tools provides many of the "missing features" from the official Mi Fit app. One of those features is the Smart Alarm - which "tries to wake you up at the best time according to your empirical sleep patterns". Alas, I have found that the way this feature works, due to limitations on the band, is rather unreliable. I frequently find that the smart alarm does not fire at all, particularly if I haven't opened the Mi Band Tools app for a while. And an alarm that can't be relied upon to go off is not very useful, no matter how "smart" it might claim to be.

It's really good, but it's not perfect. The watch faces fail to sync every time on my mi band 4. In alarms, I'd like to be able to change the vibration pattern in text and vibration mode to a custom vibration, instead of being stuck with the original vibration pattern. And lastly, like the mi fit app, for app notification management, it would make life a lot easier if you could choose which apps you want to notify you, and then configure them to your needs individually later, instead of 1 by 1.

This is very useful for custom notifications and similar features, but could do with more advanced features (especially for the price). There are other apps out there claiming to mirror phone screen onto a mi band, and do many other complex features for a lower price. I like this app because it doesn't mess up Mi Fit app, but please, please, please add more features.

It's a good app, but it needs to improve to justify the price. 2 ideas. 1) It should include different setting profiles for different activities. For example, I might want to be continuously monitored while running, but not while resting (to save battery on band); or I might want to set a certain threshold of heartbeat notifications while running (to do aerobic exercise) and a different threshold when doing weight lifting (which is anaerobic). 2) Zone charts must include total hours, not only %.

Great concept, and when ot works, it works well. The problem is that it keeps asking for you to enable notification access for the MiFit app (even though I don't have it installed since I use gadgetbridge). The funny thing is that this app is already working for me. It's only impossible to alter any settings, because once it start the popups asking to enable mifit notifications, it never stops.

I've been using it for years, and it mostly works great. Now I'm using it on MI Band 5. Everything seems fine, but when an app is giving a notification, it doesn't show anything different in the band screen. Only give some vibrations. It does exactly the same during setting and testing on this app. Kindly fix this issue.

The app supported multiple icons on the mi band 2 and also gave me the freedom to choose a custom icon for any other application which didn't have an icon built into the firmware. I loved the app with the mi band 2. Now I've got the mi band 3 and the story is back to 2016 when everything is just too early to expect and use. No icons, lack of customisation, disconnects all are a bit frustrating now. I do realise the fact that the firmware is developed by Xiaomi and only they can integrate newer icons. I'm quite excited to see what mi band tools is going to do with the next firmware update.

Changing back to five stars. All issues were remediated by latest update. Thanks. I was really satisfied as I am using this app really long time but with new updates some issues occured. Some users already mentioned that but it it looks you still do not care. First of all. Incoming call is not shown with contact names. Secondly, dnd mode in status bar does not work. When I switch off the band vibration by clicking the icon in status bar, band vibrates anyway. Pls fix it asap. My phone model is not important as it all worked before on same phone... Thank you.

Dan. R. Sep 9, 2020

It does not see some notifications (SMS on Samsung device). It sometimes gets the MiBand into such state that it drains its battery in a few hours. Only phone restart helps. One of the updates deleted all my painstakingly set up notifications. The UX overall is horrendous. Since there is no notification log or anything you have to use the tiny screen on MiBand for debugging which is extremely frustrating. It is so annoying to use I have more or less given up setting up custom notifications.

My reviews are disappearing. Sleep alarm dismiss don't work. Makes it useless pretty much. Edit: Devs blame is not accurate sadly. I checked the app numerous times. Dismiss option rarely works. Which proves that the problem is not caused by settings. Note 4 has its own battery manager. I adjusted these settings to not kill the app already. I changed my rate from one star to two to reflect the situation more accurately. Thanks for your time.

Mostly good, but definitely needs work. Especially with alarms. One alarm wouldn't dismiss, it literally went off every 5 seconds after hitting dismiss, the Bluetooth disconnected so re-syncing fixed that. Also had alarms that were turned off still go off.. Deleted any alarms I'm not using and that seemed to prevent unwanted alarms from going off again. Mostly use Sleep as Android for alarms now. However the custom watch faces are great. Haven't tried to set up notifications yet.

I've been using this app for several years, since I bought a miband 2. Now, with a miband 6 is just useless. The app randomly loses connection whenever the phone gets locked. I've tried everything (permissions, battery saver plans, etc) and nothing seems to work so I will use it again when this gets patched.

Már. P. Oct 27, 2021

Loved it for years, but: Since upgrading to Mi Band 6, it has multiple issues, watch face changing not working at all, and pulse measurement is unreliable, sometimes it measures, sometimes it does not. The support is unresponsive even though I wrote them more than a month ago, and provided all data they were asking for.

Jus. P. Oct 9, 2021

This is the worst app I've ever paid for. The watch faces don't work, alarms don't trigger when scheduled. I opened the app to see why the alarm didn't work, the alarm started chiming and there was NO WAY TO STOP IT! I had to restart my phone. No response via email and the support page is useless. The only thing I want from this terrible app is a refund!

Sleep as Android sync is amazing, though buggy. Sometimes needing to stop the app or re-add the band. The app notifications and calling (where WhatsApp calling also works, unlike Mi Fit) is amazing. The main reason I'm setting the score this low is the bugginess of Sleep As Android, and the Sync To Google Fit being absolutely broken. Every time I want to enable it, it disables it immediately afterwards. Apparently this is, according to the dev, working as intended.

Jes. R. Sep 29, 2021

It turns off my Bluetooth at random. I can't find any setting in the app or permission I've granted that allows that. When I turn the Bluetooth back on, the app turns it off again. Does not happen all the time, but enough to be really annoying or disruptive.

Great app! The best supplemental app if you want to customise your Mi Band further. I use this with my Mi Band 3 to connect my notifications from WhatsApp and set this up to send important info for MiBand tiny screen. feedback to developer: In the heart rate tab, for bar chart data visualisation, I think it would help to cut off the minimum heart rate to 30-35bpm. The current axis show minimum of 0 bpm, this leads to decrease bar height difference on the binned heart rate data

Smart alarms don't work... I setted up 2 recurrent smart alarms from Mi Band Tools v4.4.6. One is set from monday to friday and one only saturday. I can see the alarms on the Mi Band 4 v1.0.9.22, but after a while (don't know how much) if I go back to the alarms page on the band, I can't see the alarms and all I see is this message: "Set alarms on Mi Fit". If I disable and re-enable the alarms on the app, the alarms come back to the band, but just for a limited amount of time.On the Mi Fit (v.4.0.15) I don't have any alarms configured.
