It appears the time sync with the aromic clock is not accurate or has a lag. this causes huge swings in calculated "accuracy" of watches. My quartz was running +1.1 seconds which was probably close to correct, the next day it says its 102 seconds fast. I rechecked it with the atomic clock on the internet and it was spot on. If it was consistent this would be a great app, unfortunately, its not worth it if it cannot do its job well.
Makes no sense, as it simply forces you to compare your own watch to network time servers over long periods of time. A real watch analysis tool (like Tickoprint) 'reads' the beat rate via microphone, measures beat errors down to microseconds. Only THEN an accurate and fast measurement of timing errors can be seen and quickly adjusted, by regulating the balancer. This app is usesless: anyone can compare any watch against radio time signals (TV, GPS, atomic clock receivers) at any time and anywhere - without an 'app'!
Tap the button when the second hand reaches 12? I'm using an old pocket watch that doesn't have (never had) a second hand! This app is totally useless! No, it's NOT useless. The width of the minute hand is the same as the width of the minute marks on the dial, and if I watch the watch with a loupe I can tell to the second when the minute hand is pointing exactly at a mark. It will work—especially since the watch was built as a "dollar watch" and isn't all that accurate to begin with.
Inaccurate and useless app. I tried 2x to sync my watch with this app and set the time so I can measure accurately. After exiting, I decided to check again immediately using the app's regular clock on the dashboard. The app was suddenly 15 seconds behind! My atomic clock is far more accurate.
The app doesn't work properly and I uninstalled it. I've always timed my watch to the atomic clock daily and it generally gains between 6 to 15 seconds per day. This app is saying it's gaining 113 to 128 seconds per day, which is completely incorrect and ridiculous. I tried using the function several times in conjunction with atomic clock and it's the same thing. Don't waste your time with this app!
Cool idea for an app, but for Australian users it can be about 20-30 seconds out of sync with other timers depending on how long it takes to talk to the US Navy clock and update. Refresh can make it jump a big jump ahead. Wonder if it would be good to sync locally depending on area?
Slow and unresponsive. Takes a long time to load time from the server. Often just sits on spinning green circle after taking measurement. In fact one of the least easy ways to measure your watch. Not sure how to load the details of the measurements or if that is even possible. WatchCheck is far easier and no need for a pointless account.
Unfortunately this app is unusable outside the US. The clock doesn't sync up properly, and is consistently out by several seconds. It's a shame, the author has obviously put some work in to the UI but an inaccurate app for measuring accuracy isn't any use.
Love the concept and some of the execution. However, the atomic clock syncing is not accurate at all and leads to inaccurate time deviation readings. Devs should really consider fixing the sync issues and using the NIST atomic clock.
Doesn't seem to work as it should. Whilst another app has my watch running about 6 seconds ahead this app recorded it over 20 seconds slow. I reset the app but now it just doesn't appear to work. Pity, its a neat concept.
I have found this app to be the best and surest way of synchronising and checking the accuracy of your automatic watch. Really simple to use and allows you to store data on multiple watches👍👍
Really easy to use. It features easy to use menu's, simple measuring functions, and a virtual watch box to view. Thank you.
Really poor privacy. After I just started to use the App, I start getting all kinds of emails from the developer giving "Suggestions" on what to buy and use, and talking about my watches like we are friends. Don't do it, and don't give out your information.....Terrible privacy just to check time.
Even though extremely simple to use, it makes a common need of all of watch nerds. My life became simpler because if it, and that is exactly what good apps are supposed to do. Kudos to the developer.
Truly a waste of time. It appears to be a do nothing app except to gather user data. Anyone can check the accuracy of a watch using the Naval Time Clock.
So far I am not impressed. Super slow app, and I had to synchronize my watch three times before the accuracy showed up.
The clock sync does not work correctly for me in the UK. Using my GPS watch as a reference, this always syncs 6 seconds slow.
This app is junk. It isn't even close to atomic time. Off by almost 5 seconds from actual atomic time. Use WatchCheck instead. Works perfectly. This app is not even worth 1 star.
Stuck synchronizing to atomic clock. Pretty much useless. And oh, why the hell would I need to create an account to measure my watches. At least give people an option to sign up or not.
Very buggy app. Forced registration and bugs everywhere. Even time synching via NTP seems flawed. Poor usability too. Sticking with WatchCheck.
Used this app for a while now and found it very useful. A must have for anyone who wears automatic watches. Works perfectly and very user friendly.
This app is almost useless in the UK and gives inaccurate timings probably due to variable internet delay between the US navy atomic clock time and the observed time.
The application does not keep accurate time, making it 100% useless. Which is a shame, because it has a lot of potential. Hope to see it fixed.
Lots of nonsense emails sent to you when you are forced to sign up for an account. I don't need all this unnecessary stuff. There are better apps out there that's does a simple function. I will use an excel spread sheet and graph if I have to. Simple things made complicated in this app. Uninstalling it.
