Navigation on Galaxy Tab S7 tablet is broken. The screen would randomly jump up and down when trying to scroll up and down on Lab Assignments. This does not happen on other installed apps and that I tested my screen to be functional without any ghost touch. In-App support questionnaire is useless as it tells me to select a specific issue category, despite the category already selected.
Awful app and website overall. There's no warning for assignment updates, things disappear and reappear close to or long after a deadline, and text boxes swallow up what you're typing all the time. I have to be careful not to submit half of what I wanted to because it lagged and erased a paragraph. And to top it off, I have to constantly check the thing or else I miss out on assignments and lose valuable points. I can't believe the university approved this expensive, useless thing.
Very good learning process for me especially doing online classes from home, its convenient and easy to use too but you can the audio cause i can hear what the presenter is saying but overall this app is good.
The update no longer works with the Fire Tablet, super frustrating. Please fix it **update*** It seems as though the issue has been resolved. It works on the Fire tablet again. Thank you.
This thing looses connection every half an hour and requires you to close your wifi and/on mobile data and switch it back on just so this app can recognize that you are connect to the network.
The app doesn’t make it easy to simply read the textbook. I am using it to access a course textbook on my tablet but after the first use the textbook dissapeared and there doesn’t appear to be an in app way to find it again. I would have thought that accessing the textbook would have been a simple, one button process.
Not pogchamp that I have to pay for it for school but it is a lot cheaper than a textbook. Only using in in BIO 101 and it worked pretty well.
This is how I get my lab done on the go. Only wish the highlighting was more functional in the app. But really it's about the same as the webpage.
It uses this thing called iframe to embed content such as videos, and it doesn't show at all, i opened from all browsers on my laptop, ipad, downloaded the app on my phone, opened from a different laptop, it still does not show the content!
It was working fine for (nearing) 3 years but on 2/4/22 it logged me out of my account and won't let me log back in (on the Top Hat mobile app. Thankfully i can get into my account on my laptop via the web as of rn) even after authenticating with my university countless times. Even uninstalled the app but still won't let me access my course. The app keeps redirecting me to login and authenticate with my school even after doing so
I'm forced to purchase this awful software that does not give updates on assignments or any notifications when assignments are due.
My classes are hard enough as is, but with tophat constantly messing up their own coding to questions and costing me points to my grade it's just too much. I would consider this service an outright scam if it weren't the requirement for my class.
Terrible UI Doesn't fill the screen when I'm in an article, instead creates these creases on the top edge. Landscape is even worse. When I use the volume buttons, exits the article I'm reading. Doesn't support dark mode or sepia. Doesn't have an option to see all assignments, instead you need to enter each course and complete them one by one. Overall, terrible app. I'm only using it because I have no option because I have a class here. Needs a serious overhaul. Don't buy the subscription.
The app looks great at first; however, it starts giving you problems. These include not connecting to their servers or not submitting homework or inclass answers. The browser version was very slow for me too. This made it very frustrating and almost impossible to turn in some homework assignments either on time or at all. I would not recommend the use of the app or Top Hat in general.
Overall great The app is easy to use and I like the set up. I think it's really useful and has good formatting. My only complaint is that the matching questions and ones that require dragging DO NOT work. I tap the screen and nothing happens. Because of this I can only view the text book and have to go desk top for questions. That means I can only do homework at home.
This is quite literally paying to be marked as present. Sure it comes with other features, but I can do all of that with free programs. My biggest issues is that you have a buy subscriptions regularly, if it was like buying a clicker, where you only ever pay once, I may have given this 3 stars. I hope that I never have to support this rip off of a company ever again.
For something so absurdly overpriced, it is actually pretty impressive that this works so inconsistently. Connection issues abound, questions sometimes don't show as submitted until you close the app, which means you then can't see the question, and more bugs than I can count in loading slides from professors. If it wasnt entirely required to pass my classes, I would avoid it like the plague.
As a student, this is a good app. Makes it easy for me to keep up my notes, quiz/test interface is very nicely designed. Kind of quirky sometimes is the only flaw. For example if I open another app and come back, sometimes the presentations and quiz questions won't load and I have to restart the app. Slows me down a bit in class.
The idea behind this app is cool. You can submit answers to quizzes or questions asked in a lecture anonymously, however this app is super buggy and sometimes the keyboard function doesn't work. Also, if you want to renew your subscription then you have to go through the website to do it because the app only let's you see when your subscription expires. It's pretty obvious that convenience and easy to use were ideas that were not thought of when this app was made.
I really dont like the new update they did. In my class we use it as in class points for showing up which is good but we also use it as a study guide. With this new update it takes so long to go over one chapter because each chapter has it's own questions and you have to unduvuallly click in and out of the questions making it more time consuming. The older tophat app made one chapter a cohesive easy way to study and go through it all in one swoop.
Top Hat is a good idea. Used for attendance, grades, keeps your slides synced with the professor, etc. However, I think it's over priced. As a low income student it was hard for me to purchase this for the semester. I feel it should be cheaper per student. Other than the hefty price, it's alright.
Top hat is not bad, it can be quite useful in helping students learn and engage in class. However, I find that its app form is rather frustrating to use, especially on a tablet, as it doesn't allow split screen. It would be great and highly useful for a lot of users if this app allowed this function ☹
No button to renew my subscription on mobile or the website. Their FAQ and customer representitives were pitiful and inadequite when trying to provide assistance. edit: Yes I see that I can buy a new subscription on the day it runs out, but I should be able to buy it early when this is going to affect my grade. I shouldn't have to scramble to get my credit card out in class when I should have been able to buy it early.
$30 for 4 months for an app just for attendance is insane, especially because one of my other classes uses a different app that's free with the same effect. I see it's possible to more with it, but tiered subscriptions to different sets of features would be nice. Idk why they'd actually implement it though because it's I pay full price or fail the class I'm taking!
They make it so difficult to subscribe on mobil. I needed the app for one of my classes, after the 7 day trial ran out they sent an email saying i had to pay but didnt supply a link, there is also no way to pay through the app. The email directions are for a desktop and do NOT work for mobil but do not state that. It took me almost 20 minutes to figure it out on my own, it shouldnt be that hars to give a company money.
Terrible app, the people working for this should be ashamed. Inventing a way to make more $$ off of broke college students. Charging me $30+ a semester just to click a button 2 times a class. It'll get back to you one day, always does, terrible people for making this.
While an overall well-made and functional app, it offers very little that isn't already offered by widely adopted services like Canvas. The attendance service is functional, but frankly cannot be touted as one of the only unique features, especially when it functionally forces me to pay a heinous amount of money so I can get automatically narc'd for ditching class. This service's presentation and functionality are good. This service's existence and price point are a blight.
Very annoying UI. Jumps around randomly making me lose my place in the document frequently. Slow and difficult to edit tables, cells do not resize to accommodate more text so cells are hard to read. You also can't scroll down far enough to see lower cells when the keyboard is visible, so any typing is blind. The keyboard used to type in answers is non default, so no autocorrect or swipe type. For some reason the top corners of the UI are rounded and black, dont need to be and just looks weird.
