It worked... eventually. But it asks for your email to send it to, which seems a little sketchy. Plus it gives you a picture with a huge watermark, and to get the image without one it brings you all the way to step one... Where it absolutely refused to work at all. There are definitely better alternatives to this app!
It was fast at finding the top 9 without needing to email me, but wanted me to pay to remove the watermark or customize the grid in any way. They have a cool video feature, but you have to pay for that, too. Everytime I clicked on an option that you have to pay for, it wouldn't even let me back out. It was either buy or close the app. I went with Best Grid instead. Allowed me to watch an ad to get rid of their watermark and customize my grid, and it was just as fast if not faster than top 9.
Similar experience to others. Attempted to generate my top nine and the app is simply stuck on "...this could take a while". And after 24 hours, no notification in my email inbox of a completed collage. I'm sure that the service is heavily overloaded this time of year, but with this experience I'm pretty much fine with not jumping on the bandwagon this year.
States that my account is private when it has never been... nothing seems to work. If anyone could help that would be appreciated! Edit: I have upgraded my 1 star review to a 4 star after the previously stated issue was resolved! The app does what it's supposed to do and is a helpful tool! I would like to see a few more options to download (eg. Story version, post version, etc.) and if the download could show the number of likes that would be a nice addition!
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP! Unless you enjoy pop up ads every 5-10 minutes, no matter what you do on your phone. Texting? Not anymore! Let's give you an ad. Editing a photo? Hold on a second, there's another pop-up ad. I downloaded this app, thinking it would give me my top 9 photos. I tried to log in to my Instagram and the page jumped quickly and the app crashed. I tried a second time, same experience. I uninstalled it, cleaned out my phone and still the ads persisted. I'm still trying to fix it
I entered my email address about 6 days ago on the site and still hadn't received anything, so I decided to download the app. Pointlessly it asks for your email every time but then shows you the picture straight away. I tried several times to save it to my photos and it kept saying an error occurred. I did a screenshot instead but the picture quality is terrible and it's all pixelated. Nothing good to say about this app really!
Feels like a scam. They make you input your email and tell you straight out they will be using it for advertising purposes. Then when you finally put it in, you only get a water marked version of the photo! You have to pay to remove it. Not worth the download, there are knock off apps which do the same thing for free!
Just plain horrible. No customisation options, very poor interface. Just a shoddy attempt at upselling you to the "premium" stuff, which is the same level of horrible but without watermarks. To make matters worse, they literally force you to download the app when you visit their website. Despicable. Some things aren't worth it when when they're free - this is definitely an example.
I'm also having issues. Mine keeps saying it couldn't create my top nine and giving me the option to try later or choose my own top nine. When I go to choose my own, it takes me up the browser version instead and asks for permission, which I meant and then nothing happens. It just takes me back to the top nine app with the same couldn't make screen.
It could have just make the top 9 without asking for email address, but it did anyways hope I don't get spam. Don't like the fact you got "top nine" written in giant letters across your photos, and you can take it out by paying $. Unlock video cost $. And they make your photos all cropped out thats landscape in the video and its blurry. Download the photo require phone storage access yet a lot of other apps doesn't. Would not use again.
This app is crApp. Tells you they will email you your results so you don't have to wait but emails haven't been received more than 4 hours since installation. It takes forever to even show you your top nine and even when it does, there are no photo's showing! Just nine empty white squares. When Top Nine was just a website at least it worked, even when it was a little slow. But this app is so broken it literally does nothing but waste your time.
Terrible app! it would constantly say to give it a minues for housekeeping, which doesn't make sense, but then get stuck on that screen, or have me log in repeatedly and never load beyond that. I would close and open and uninstall and reinstall and it would not help! based on the large number of the same reviews I'd say dont waste your time!
Only does 1 thing and does it very poorly. I could have made a Top 9 picture faster myself by scrolling through my own profile. Charges $1 to remove watermark after putting together 9 pictures, something lots of photo apps can do for free. I look forward to Instagram adding this single feature next year and this third party app entire business crashing down.
Even though the app is free, if you don't want your top nine collage to have a watermark, you will have to pay. This isn't great as you also have to give them your email address, for no other reason than marketing purposes. To sum up - I've installed this app, gave the company my email address, and still don't have any collage to post. And the cheek of them to ask you to rate the app before you are shown the message about the required payment!
Little bit rubbish that a few days ago when I made a top 9 I could do it online for free, it didn't save. Trying to do it on New Years Eve, instantly redirects you to the app where you have to pay to remove the watermark. Typically trying to get money out of folk when they are likely to use it. Absolute scroungers.
It's not working. I paid for the app last year and it worked. Did the update for this year and it keeps telling me it too busy. I can pick and chose the photos I want in my Top Nine, which defeats the purpose or wait for an email and it may take days. Doesn't make sense when in previous years it was able to do it within seconds.
Terrible I have a private account so downloaded the app. After constantly having to grant access several times, the app would just bring up Instagram via internet app and just leave the page blank. I uninstalled and reinstalled, then made my account public and tried via both the app and the webpage (which apparently you can do without the app if it's public). Neither will load up. Terrible.
Rubbish. I paid for the video and then had to wait two weeks for it to arrive. Not only is it now completely irrelevant to my IG Stories it is also missing two images. I asked for my money back through PayPal as I had waited days and not received the video but my case was refused because the "item or service had been delivered." ( that's how I finally found out that the incomplete video was finally ready). I had also emailed Top Nine before contacting PayPal but received no reply.
Amazing app. I love looking at my top nine photos with all my accounts. The only issue is that i don't like having to put my email in because every other day I'll look at my top nine and i get a whole bunch of emails from the app. Also i wish they kept the mount of likes each photo had. It saves me time on going on each account and looking through all my photos to figure out how many likes are on that photo. But other than that love the app. I never had an issue with it.
It took way too long to actually get to the photo collage. I had to enter my info multiple times and the app redirected between my instagram app, the browser, and back to this app multiple times. The experience honestly wasn't worth it. And I'm not paying $0.99 to remove that ridiculous watermark. Don't waste your time.
Although you can opt out of providing an email, it's a little line that's hard to see. The photos are cropped a little weird and after all that you have to pay to remove the watermark. Although if you were more ambitious you could screenshot the info and just diy your own grid of the same photos.
Web version hasn't worked for days. Tried mobile app and getting same error about high traffic and my needing to try again later. Also, apparently, there's a watermark that costs $0.99 to remove. The web version also wanted a few bucks. Don't plan on trying again and am tired of the nickel and diming.
It's okay, but it has some issues. When I view my top 9 in the app, they are in a different order than when I save them. Also, once I save them, the borders between the images look weird, as the lines change in width/thickness.
Got up to the screen to authorize a 3rd party app, and when I tapped authorize on my browser it acted like it was loading a new page at the top of my browser but the screen and page wouldn't change after several attempts. Better not be abusing my private info, maybe they just want to spam my email. 12/5/19 Update: Still doesn't work, insists my profile is private after making it public, for the app to generate the top 9 collage.
I was unable to save my photo to my gallery. Instead, I have to screenshot or wait for the email to be able to download it. It also asks for my email every time I want to generate a new grid, which is annoying. Having the app makes getting your top 9 faster, but not really worth the download. It's kind of silly that I have to download the app because the website is "too busy" to generate my top 9 without taking several days.
App and website is TERRIBLE this year compared with previous years. It is constantly saying they are doing "housekeeping" and isn't available. Paying to remove a watermark is a joke. I can easily go through and pick my top 9 in a pic collage for free. I might CONSIDER paying if there were more options (like excluding certain images, giving more stats, etc). App developers - there's a void to fill here! I just don't see many people paying for such an unreliable app.
