ToPlay - Games & Gaming news

I find both the app and the widget constantly need me to sit there refreshing them as they both seem to very frequently go down. I've already made numerous attempts to reinstall, clear the cache, all the usual stuff, with no luck. As someone subscribed to this app, even if it's not an expensive subscription, I'd expect it to work more times than not. The feed also doesn't show anything new from the last 92+ hours, and attempting to contact support led to a deleted email account.

The app is aesthetically pleasing, but there's two big issues: 1. There seems to be some news that are always there even if you don't have the source subscribed. 2. The first section does not get updated, if you go to channels and look one ylu are subscribed, youll see latest news that are not present in the feed tab.

No flaws that I can see. Clean layout. Ads well integrated, not annoying. Enough sources. Not too little that there's nothing to read. Not too many that you see a bunch of duplicate stories. I've only been using it for a few days but it's much better than other apps of the same type.

Not bad but not awesome. My only complaint is a big one. It, the widget especially, loads news SLLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLY. It sometimes takes days just for the widget to show only one headline. That's less than old dial-up speeds from 1998. You've got to solve this.

The overall design is pleasant. I definitely enjoy using it. I would love it if I could choose which gaming platforms, and which news outlets show in my feed. Also, not a big deal, but maybe an option to get rid of the ads for a price?

No filters and a channel subscription function that doesn't work where it just ignores what your subscribed to or not. Other than that the design is nice and easy on the eyes. Will revisit if that ever gets fixed.

Why changed the UI it was perfect before with a bunch of links, descriptions, videos and pictures for the game ?? Also you still dont have database for games where we can search under preferred console/platform you only have metacritic list of games by ratings .. I've used this app since 2019 still no improvements and now its getting worse ..

Thought this would be promising multi gaming news source. But the more I use it, the less impressed I am. And it becomes awkward to use with intrusive functionality. Might be ok if you're willing to put up with it's negatives but not for me.

Very nice user interface and design. Would like to be able to pin certain games and be serviced with alerts for new articles for the pinned games But the search function for each game is the best experience ive found for Android.

Love the app but the widget sometimes shows no news even after pressing the refresh icon where I would need to either go into the app and then news would appear on the widget and sometimes when that doesn't work i would need to remove the widget and set it back up

Really awesome potential I already love it. Shows a lot of cool news I didn't even know I wanted to know lol. Would be great if I could scroll through a genre like fps news or rpg news stuff like that so I can see more of what I want to see. I like whole trending news idea so I can know what's generally going on in the gaming community. Anyway would be a 5 but it seems very random stuff

Not connecting anymore. I've been patient and have had it. Looking for a replacement pronto! UPDATE 27/2: Cleared up the cache (per the dev's recommendation) & it's still not working. Poor performance.

I really like this app but I think they should add a feature where you can choose a specific type of news in a certain language but apart from that really good would recommend

App freezes continuously when thumbnails play video. Half the posts don't have content and only the cover picture. And now I am getting harassed for toplay+ when toplay regular doesn't even work properly.

really like it ! i searched for an app like this for a while. i have one issue though. on my phone s10+ the upcoming games section is not working. it s showing only 4 tiles of games spread around 2 days ahead. there is no progressive bar that can be scrolled

It's neat and simple. I like the layout, the colours and the way I transition between pages. Absolutely stunning.

could be a really great app for gaming news....but a huge flaw ive noticed is that the main feed fails to update while the individual channels seem to update fine. Typically the main feed is 6-10 hours behind the channel updates....?

Uninstalled due to the inability to take certain news providers out of my feed. This resulted in spoilers for a game I was really looking forward to being shown in an article title. Shame, good app otherwise but until I can curate my own news feed by allowing some providers and hiding others I will be using a different app.

Pleasantly surprised by this app. Not many reviews made me a bit wary. The interface is clean and smooth as hell. Really liking it and will continue using it now. Good job to whoever is working on this!

This app would be great if it wasn't for one MAJOR APP BREAKING FLAW. It updates once every 5 or 6 days. So once you spend 5 mins reading your feed you have almost a week to wait to get more info. Try "I LOVE GAMING" instead. It's updated hourly. Not as swish as ToPlay but at least news updates aren't a week apart.

Truly awesome. One of the most beautifully designed news apps I've ever used. Got only one issue:- Destructoid isn't available in the channels section.

It's a slick looking app, it has release dates for games and such built in, only gripe I got is that you cant pick and chose what sort of topics you want to read about but other than that it's pretty good

At random times nothing will pull up. Mainly at evenings till mornings. Can't read any articles as it just remains blank. Need a gaming news app that won't constantly let me down.

i would gladly pay for the app if it had no adds and more filter options for upcoming game and top games (such as console or genre ), and a bigger list of upcoming and top games.

One of the worst thing about the same is that we can't use while its offline. Servers are quite slow and most of the notifications which come are in russian.

One of the best apps for gaming, tech news and some .. Hope in the game section you can also add categories like PS4, SWITCH games etc and game genres to make it just like metacritic .. I know its hard but just wishful thinking .. Incredible job Devs thank you !!
