Has crashed directly upon startup for months now. Then this new version gets released today, apparently fixing the startup issue on androids. Well, it didn't. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Fix this. It has been literally months of not being able to use this app at all. Pointless to have an app when you can never use it. I will edit my review when the app-crashing is resolved.
I am now of the opinion that one cannot use only one browser. So, I've installed a few to analyze them, and settle on 3. Tor was the very first and I'm impressed already. Nice appearance, easy to get up & running, great security settings, enough options for comfortably, and a bundle of add ons to customize it. So far I'm impressed and quite taken back by the efficiency with which it displays, plus the settings are at your fingertips with no articles and 20 step procedures and protocols to forget
Crashes immediately on opening. I installed the latest version of the app and, as many recent reviewers have stated, the app opens for a second and immediately crashes. It doesn't even load a webpage. It's like a blip on the screen and immediately crashes. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. But for now it's unusable (and uninstalled).
I don't know if I'm the most "qualified" person to make a review for this browser, I don't usually use VPN's and I mainly just use browser without one. I'm giving the browser 4 stars because for what it's goal is, it seems to be fine for the most part. It's slow and on some devices it seems unstable but it's free, while the stability is still a problem, I didn't really expect it to be fast considering that the VPN is free. Outside of issues that Firefox also has, I did also notice some other issues, one being that YouTube sometimes doesn't work, although I'd imagine that's just a side effect of the VPN. Another issue being that even though they seem to install properly, you can't use Firefox extensions that aren't already installed. I tired to install Ublock Origin and it didn't work at all. Although, I guess if you are considering using Tor over something like Opera's VPN, then most of the issues I had probably wont really effect you.
Almost perfect but problems recently. Used this for a long time on nearly all my previous devices but it totally fails on my latest one. On the Samsung S22 Ultra, pages simply fail to render correctly making it unusable. Both Onion and clear Web pages simply do not render and after scrolling around, it will sometimes render something garbled. Looking on Reddit, the I see others with the same device are experiencing the same problems.
Crashes after the first run. I've used the Tor Browser before in the past few months but every single time I use it after the first time it crashes on start-up. There's nothing I can do to fix it except for reinstalling it. The app experience wasn't anything exceptional anyways. While I love TOR, this browser is just Firefox mobile with TOR support and a rebrand, nothing really extra. It evens nags me with notifications and wants to be my default browser.
Found a fox for the crashing. For me it xlcrashed the first 2 times upon enter but the third time its works. Just don't close the app when it crashes. The first ti.e it crashes it brings you back to the playstore tab, just hit open and connect. It crashed again. But upon opening and hitting connect again it works. Just don't close the app after the crashes or else this won't work. I do this every time and it's the same every time I do it.
Used to be a great app, not sure what's happened, since the latest update on my Samsung S22 Ultra, nothing in the app loads properly, all websites either load with a blank white page, or load with broken, pixilated writing or random characters, making the app completely unusable. Unstable and reinstalled 3 times, issue still remains.
Very Awesome , I even set it as my default browser ! ! ! I enjoy privacy and I also enjoy being able to surf the web , in it's entirety ! ! ! ! And with tor , and tor browser , it's a defenite great surfing experience , as well as finding websites that have downloadable , sweet Books , and I found some very inter , as well as free. !! : Books , and a bunch of cool things that I have never seen on the regular " car web ' , I am on it right now , so I better leave a 5/5 for it's 👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's been crashing sooner and sooner after launching it these last few weeks. Before, if I pressed "connect" soon enough I could squeeze through. I'd have about a second and a half window. Now, no matter how soon I press connect, it crashes within a second. Literally unusable. >:/
While the TOR itself is terrific, recently I find myself together with other people in this feedback section, because when I open the app, it crashes in a matter of seconds. You need to open it 3-4 times quickly, to then peacefully press connect and use the app. Just waiting until this bug is fixed and I will change the rating to 5 star.
Not as feature rich as the desktop version, as you would expect, but overall a great app. BUT... here's the bad bit, since upgrading to the Fold3 I've been experiencing frequent random crashes upon opening the app. Such a shame since Tor is my go to privacy conscious browser :(
This browser used to be solid and connect with no issues at all it was great for a while then got a update on my Galaxy tab s7 and kept crashing then sometimes I'll get a msg from my device telling me an error has occurred with the tor app eventually it works but I thought it was my tablet causing the issue by the latest update from Samsung but it's not the tor app is all out of whack on my phone too. I did go into the app settings and allowed it to bridge its connection which helps but plz fix
Ever since last update it's super unstable from constantly hard crashing to the app just saying connection refused. Used to work great idk what they did to change it Well they *fixed* it now it won't load any pages at all XD
You sacrifice a bit of speed in exchange for stronger security and privacy benefits. However, this version crashes almost every time at launch. I've subsequently uninstalled it.
Not the fastest but Tor constantly remains one of the most secure browsers. To top it off, one of the world's most secure VPN browsers still remains completely free. All apps have versions that sometimes glitch after an update but Tor supporters are always quick to find effective solutions!
I definitely love this app. I love what it is doing for the world and how it is helping people stay safe and private and secure. I still feel obligated to share my personal experience on my particular phone. The app crashes almost every time I launch it. Then on second attempt, it stays open. I use Android 12 on a Samsung Galaxy S20+ Ultra.
I don't know if it's a specific server issue or the Tor browser, but some sites, load really slow. I've tried nearly every remedy, but nothing works. I open the app, it crashes and my phone says there's a bug, in the app.
Would be the best private browsing browser out there, but I'm the latest update, I have to restart my phone to get it to work again. Whatever worked previously before the update appears to have broken and it crashes every time I load it until I can restart my phone.
Everything works fine . recommended for people serious about their anonymity. One small issue, I have to copy paste the links from another app and paste it in tor. I can't just click and open on tor. It just shows a blank screen when I open it directly from any other app. I don't know if it's security feature or a bug .
