Only designed for max torque to shear the bolt. It doesn't take into account parent material. If I have an m12 8.8 bolt threading into 8mm think aluminium how many Nm do I use? This app can't say
Good, but needs presets for fiction. Like dry, oiled, loctite and anti seize
Seems a good thing. I also would like to see metric fine on the app.
It's a good app. For fast conversation
Not bad but there is no metric fine
The friction coefficient is important. The default of 0.14 is an ok value for a lubricated thread. For users less familiar with bolted joint design, a drop down menu with standard friction coefficients would be helpful. The idea of a calculator app should be to have all of the info quickly accessable to a busy mechanic in the field without having to look up values elsewhere. Unfortunately, many joints are installed unlubricated in real world applications. Therefore, the user should at least be alerted to the difference.
Good app, but would you please provide your reference for the calculated tourqe values as it is so important to know the origin of the information.
Love it. Very good. Thank you.
first I thought it's just got imperial threads and was ready to uninstall it but then I found I was wrong... simple and effective app. please add some more metric standards and some presets for the friction coefficient that may help people who don't have idea of its value like I do.
