Toshiba Smart Remote

Second review after using the app for a few days. And now it reveals itself to be terrible. It worked for two or three days and then it stopped connecting to my TV, it doesn't even recognize it. Both my smartTV and phone are on the same network, both have good signal, so the problem logically has to be with the app.

Won't locate my TV brand new bought few days back. WiFi set up perfectly on all devices and alexia as well nothing works keeps twirling round like a numoty and then nothing. Pffff useless. If you guys are having trouble with the app we can help redesign and develop this for you. Look us up Fortnight studio we'd be happy to help full redesign and rebuild... simply for the sake of me being able to use this

Edit 05/05/20 - it works well when the TV is already on but is not able to detect the TV when it is turned off which would be really useful when you can't find the remote. Hence 4 star. Original review 5 star - instantly found TV on the network and controls it as expected. Can't fault it at the moment so 5 stars

Mediocre. Can't use your smartphone as a mouse. Using google on the tv is soooo sloooow, due to the crippling pointer scrolling. It's no better with this app, only entering text is MUCH better, everything else is the same as the tv remote, except it's layout is WORSE. IF YOU CAN'T GET IT RIGHT, DON'T BOTHER.

Found the TV on the network and was working instantly, with zero effort on my part, which we all know is the best amount of effort for an app like this! Thanks guys, you've saved me a few quid in replacing the remote batteries!

love it had an issue where my playstation pad wouldnt sync to my console altogether and it kept pairing with my phone lucky theres such thing as youtube and this app was a life saver thought i would have to pay out on a new pad and was able to control my ps go in as guest go into settings and devices and set my pad back up to the console no problem well deserved 5 start plus its the only app i found that actually works aswell

Update as of 23 Dec2020, it works very well now. Perfect score this time. The voice command works really nice too. "Keys" has 5 faces which i did not know at first. You need to swipe the screen up, down, left and right to access them.

Worked fine at the start, but possibly after an update, it now turns off the TV randomly when performing some actions on the app. Hopefully this will be resolved soon as it is an app with great potential.

Excellent but make sure you turn off the auto connect setting because your ip address is dynamic (changes) and it will stop working otherwise. Onc i discovered that its been a perfect app

Amazing so far. So simple and easy to use! Only used for 5 mins so I will update later if any problems occur... but I am so relieved, I didnt want to have to buy a new remote lol No ads so far. Paired to TV v easy. Sometimes have to press buttons twice but that's okay! Bit ugly tho lol

Worked fine first time installation. Day after turned it on and it wouldn't start up did not even give option to detect a TV. So first it was great second disappointed 😞 and there's no update pity. OK tried and tried and now it don't work so now its useless uninstall and look for something that will work sorry 1 star for presentation. And update Android 7 still isn't working. I've got a galaxy A50. Thought I'd give it a second chance but no it's still not working very disappointed 😔.

Doesn't connect to anything. Smart TV is on the same WiFi channel less than 5 feet away, and this remote "can't find" anything. Entirely useless.

Could do with a better UI doesnt look right, would be better to have different themes, and the actual layout of the real remote plus the extras

Same as everyone else. The app finds the tv ONLY on the very first time you install it. It will never find anything again, no matter how many times you uninstall and reinstall.

Exactly what I needed. I would be happy if I could change the layout of the arrow keys and ok button since they're wonky and I have to look where I'm pressing each time due to that

Does not work, I have it enabled on my tv and tried to discover but not connecting whatsoever, app warns that its not compatible with my newer Android version so i guess this app has been abandoned.

Downloaded the app Friday, it worked twice & now doesn't even pick my TV up, I downloaded this for simple reason being the actual remote doesn't work! now I can't even stop the TV shutting down as it's got a timer on!

Its the only working one ive found with my tv but could you please add maybe a youtube and netflix button... I lost my remote for my tv so this is really helpful would reccomend!!

Downloaded this app for my sisters TV whilst am at her home.. Such a good app to use.. Just opens up and is connected to the TV without any fussing around and can do everything the normal remote can.

It works perfectly fine the first time but then it does not connect again. Just disconnect your phone from the internet ans connect it and it will work

This is awesome. I've tried tonnes of apps to replace my lost remote, and this is the only one that works. No idea why it's free, you should be charging for this!

It doesn't turn my TV on. Once the TV is on (turned on with the remote controller), I have full control with the app. GalaxyS20

Useless ( works well for a bit then loses connection sick of resetting in so removed it) needs improvement only when it is updated might reinstall when the faults have been rectified.

Normally I don't give feedbacks .but this guys are awesome app. I can easily control my Toshiba smart TV, even I can use the keyboard and from the original TV remote I can't....so thanks again

I hate it! It used to work perfectly but now it does not even let me select the tv meaning that when i load into the app it will say your tv and u click on it and then you can control the tv but it does not let me so how am i supposed to control my tv? Please fix this thx

I give a 4 because everything works but i have to uninatall an app to be able to get this. Apart from that, very useful when u can't find ur remote control

I am very sorry to state after reading so many wonderful reviews, this app did not work with my New Toshiba Smart Tv. What else to do but uninstall. I will not say more than that.
