Total Boox for library patrons

Great for IT books. A good collection of Safari Online books can be downloaded and read at anytime without Internet connection. Not a lot of new novels. The search UI can use some improvement. Overall a very useful app.

The app has stopped working for me. It used to work fine before but now I am getting the following error message: Cannot connect to ILS for authentication (SocketTimeoutException), verify the port is open. connect times out. Please fix!

I loved this app a few version ago but now I can't add my library card. I keep getting an error(cannot connect to library for authentication. Verify the scstatus(99) and PatronInformation(63) are allowed. Null) please fix this!

Won't let me login. I'm using the same login and password that work fine on the website, but it keeps giving me an error. I've tried rebooting.

I use to like it. Now it doesn't let you connect to the library. And I can no longer log in.

Fraud application. All books legitamately loaded are gone.

2021 time for another update. Can't download or open books for months now

Horrible buggy app, links from table of content to sections don't work even when they exist, iPhone and Android versions are bad, Android version even worse, after downloading books they are still not accessible

Too cool for school

The screen shots on the Play Store page show some sort of controls. Not on my android tablet. No "preferences", no way to adjust size, brightness, etc. This just looks like something from 10 years ago. And since my library requires it for their ebooks, I guess I'm stuck. Very disappointing.

When searching, hold the phone very steady - chsnging from portrait to landscape erases your results. The back button sends you all the way back to the opening screen, therefore never make a mistake. Be sure to click on "read" twice, so the app knows you're serious about wanting to read the book you requested. At least the text is readable.

Ridiculous! Why would I want to keep an ebook on "my device" indefinitely. My library claims to have spent almost a Million Dollars for access to this garbage. Where are Michael Connolly books for example? I tried this application several times over the last 3 years and see no improvement in the selection or the software. You're kidding; right? It's only available on my phone. Duh...how about Kindle, iPad etc. Slow loading. Yeah! I am looking at a blank yellow page for the last 10 minutes despite a very fast internet connection. This is pretty cool! I like the concept and accessibility. I love everything about it. However, I believe there's always room for improvement since I very much agree that UI/UX aspect of it is not up to par. Here's a list of room for improvements: -letting users select multiple books to drag and drop into their shelves -fonts and coloring for reading should be better -ui for bookmarking were not obvious -download should be faster -there should be a tutorial on how to download these books for users who aren't technologically savvy

Haven't used in a few months but trying again. A lot of the well known popular books and authors aren't available. I feel like this is another outlet for Indy/lesser known authors to try to advertise their books. I can get a lot of those types of books for free at Amazon. Stop wasting our money and purchase better books on Overdrive.

I've found a fix for the app crashing. On Android Marshmallow I uninstalled all updates to the Android System WebView app, then it works again. In Nougat, WebView has been replaced by a function in Chrome. I can only get the app to open my books if I disable Chrome first. Annoying, but it will work.

The TotalBoox Version on Android Tablets is not too good for programming books. THe code windows seem to be all garbled. The end of lines dont seem to be respected. Can we we please fix that.

Doesnt allow you to read books on Kindle or other E-readers. Only allows you to read on mobile devices. Awful. Never going to use it. Might tell library to stop paying for this service unless the allow you to read on E-readers.

The app crashes every time i try to open a book. I even tried using the reader. It's unfortunate that the developers aren't taking the time to keep the app up to date to work on new phones. Love the idea of connecting it through my library.

Great idea, love the selection of free books. The UI though is extremely bad. Sometimes scrolling doesn't seem to work at all. Navigating within a long book, especially a travel book, is very challenging and cumbersome.

Please update soon. Applications crashes everytime. Maybe make it accessible on computer as well as app.

Terrible programming books. The examples code are messed up and missing line breaks. So hard to read and follow example codes. Piece of junk.

this used to be a great and easy app to use but in the last few months it has completely stopped working! every time I try to open a book it just quits.

Can't open any of the books i saved. Used to love this app... now any time i want to read one of the books, the app just quits

Terrible app -- it's only available on your cell & it takes for EVER for books to load. I read my ebooks on my desktop, not a dinky little phone. Hope my library finds a better program soon.
