I like that fact that I can create my own midi controllers... Its kinda hard working your way around creating your own controller via the workshop option. It should rather be a drag and drop typer setup which would make it easy to position the controls of the controller you are trying to create. I personally enjoy this app and getting the pro version. I want to create my own push 2 controller using this app. GREATE WORK!
Garbage. The free version set up fine, so then I bought the full version, and it just refuses to connect 95% of the time. If I randomly switch the connection types for an hour, there's a chance it'll work, but until it does, it's just nonsense where, e.g., it'll not display any connections or just one and not the other or force the midi controller connection to connect to the daw controller port. Also, switching between different control boards is awkward. It's a gamble. Avoid it.
I bought the paid version. It's sooo hard to use. I got it working once but you have to set it up every time and I can't get it working again. The manual is extremely badly written and not much help. If you have Reaper just use the free web remote control instead. This app is R Kelly: sounds great but is actually awful! Don't buy it until they make it user friendly.
Edit:In the previous comment I refused to buy the premium due to some unconsistencies of working through a wifi connection, now It works through USB. Only one channel... so through wifi doesnt work properly, sometimes I have the controls working, sometimes I've only midi key/pad with no controls, and even if im an "user guide maniac" I didn't get the problem, and then suddenly stuck notes.IlKeep editing this review for the developer sake if I manage to get more juice from it. I'll probably buy.
I have been wrestling with Logic Pro x and found there was a Logic Remote for iPad.... well .... this is the android version. I am loving it. Had to set up a midi WiFi network on the Mac but now very happy to have sliders and knobs on a touch screen. Got the free version and as it says, a few moves in and it stops. It's just to see if it works for you, so I have bought the paid version and works a treat. Thank You
This is a brilliant app!! Just search YouTube for TouchDAW and the name of your preferred DAW and voila, you should have some easy to follow instructions to make this app work smoothly. Perhaps I'm just lucky, but I've had no problems, it was effortless to get it working, and it works without any noticeable lag for me.
I followed steps with touchdaw and DAW install/config to the letter. Everything shows connected via RTP... no response from DAW. Dbl-checked everything from phone to router to PC to firewall to rtpMIDI. Bupkis! Spent too much time messing about with it so it's uninstalled now. Too bad. I need this!
Unlike Apple's Logic Remote app that automatically is discovered and completely and seamlessly integrates with Logic Pro X, this app is essentially "dumb" out of the box and tediously needs to be set up for every single parameter. Not worth the time. I was hoping I could use one of my spare Android tablets. I'd rather buy a 2nd iPad than to fuss with this app.
For people who think this records audio or magically connects to your daw well wake up. This app requires basic midi knowledge to setup and does exactly what it says it does. My suggestion for those who can't get it working is to school up on midi control on your daw. This has been super handy to control my daw when I am in the vocal booth or the drum room. A few buttons dont work but again if you sit down and actually learn an app you will figure out how it will work best for you.
Impossible to get it work on a Mac, the guide I found on the web is so complicated that I gave up after 3 hours.
Easy to install and very comfortable app. I tried the demo first and purchased full version
This is a really powerful app and provides a lot of different types of controls. But I am facing issues with WiFi RTP connection over mobile hotspot. This is because mobile hotspot uses swlan0 interface and the app assumes wlan0 interface, thus it finds null IP address and I am forced to connect via USB.
I have a Pixel 3a xl and I was trying to connect to Cakewalk and Kontakt. I was able to control console faders but I couldn't get the keyboard working. Very glad I tried the demo before sinking money into something that doesn't work.
I love the app and I'm going to get the premium version, the problem I have with this app is that it has no manual. Is it possible to trigger scenes in ableton with the launch pad? Can I map stuff to the pads and keyboard? This is my major reason for getting the app.
Was very easy to set up over wifi when following instrucitons. I think the knobs should be more tacitle, as of now its very fiddly to use them. If I just could drag up/down I think it would work better. Will update as I use the app more.
Good thing there is a FREE trial version because this thing didn't work! I've spent the last hour or more trying to get it to work. And I did everything carefully according to all the instructions/tutorials....it just doesn't work!
Very configurable, Easy to use, interfaces easily with windows. Skip the demo and buy the app.
I bought the paid version on the Google play store and I couldn't download it. Every time I tried to download, it kept asking me to buy it whiles I had already paid. Please do something about it or give me a refund. Thanks
Amazing. Im loving the XY controller. Google "Synaptics sound android midi controller" for the detailed instructions (FL Studio but can be used in any DAW)
Doesn't work well with win 10 and cakewalk by bandlab. Very laggy and can only get half the stuff to work using rtpmidi. Would have been the bees knees if it worked right. Oh well, can't win them all.
Installed multiple times, would not connect. Kept saying the pc wouldn't respond even when other rtp and midi devices were connected.
Can't open setup menu after turning it off, tried restarting phone and reinstalling app but still doesn't work
Great app.. thanks for making this type of app.. but do one thing, add an option that show keybord note on keybord keys... its may optional
The person who uploaded this foolish and useless app is a fool. This app is so useless, it's not doing anything at all. It's not bringing any sound but you can only see what your finger is touching. Rubbish!!!
Not connecting with Ableton and no tutorial video is available on you tube
All connected works only once with cakewalk then midi only not works others ok explain why???
App is very useful but I think previous version is better
Wow! This app is great! I use this to control amplitube 5. It is fairly easy to make a WiFi connection. Setting up for all the right buttons is a bit of work (especially because amplitube has too many options), but everything works after one initial setup. Now I have an iRig for free (or 2 beers, if you buy the full version)
