TP-Link Tapo

Used to be great but now getting more and more frustrating due to three recurring and very annoying bugs: 1: Recently started randomly crashing out to screen that says "app has stopped" or some such similar message. App needs restarting. Sometimes the phone needs restarting! 2: Cameras often stop and screen goes blank with message "tap to refresh". Very annoying. 3: Often seems to view the cams remotely via internet even when cams and app are on the local network. Can use up a ton of data!

This is my the first CCTV app I've used and it has an easy to use interface. Video quality is very good. I wish there was a way though to choose which detection events I would be notified on. Like in my case, I'd like for the camera to record every time there is motion detected but I'd like to be notified only when there is a line crossing detection event. Also could be better if there was a download option for the videos captured by the camera. But overall, great and stable app!

I got the c310 2 weeks ago. I am really impressed with how easy is it was to setup. The image is crisp ,and the night vision is so bright. Everything went well for the first week. I updated the cam software straight away. The past week ,my cats have been picked up as motion detection,and if a person came up my drive ,it would say person detected great! This week person detection has been my cats all day. A little frustrating,but overall good camera. I hope future updates can solve this issue.

The reason it's not 5* is because the voice bit isn't always clear and there is a pop up every 5 minutes asking if I'm still viewing, then I have to press continue only for it to refresh which take a few moments which is outrageous when your trying to keep an eye on the place, or when your waiting for deliveries. It's security cameras you should be able to watch it without continue viewing pop-ups. Other than that my experience has been pretty amazing.

Simplicity: Its is easy to navigate through with clear uncluttered obvious leads in response to any prompts. Speed: It is not quick to load up the screens (mostly home page). Flexibility: It's is usually non responsive and eventually crashes to any request. Security: The app security isn't water tight as it has no option for biometric login, log in notification,

Having to download a cloud video back to the camera memory, and then having to access the camera memory to save it to your phone/tablet is a poor customer experience. Let us download directly from the cloud. Sometimes after downloading to the camera memory it doesn't even appear and you have to close and reopen the app to be able to save it to your phone.

Easy to set up. No guidance as to how high it should be fitted, so we've probably fixed ours too high - had a bit of a game drilling through the wall up a ladder! Picture quality is very good, both day and night. Worth playing around with setting boundaries and areas to avoid getting too many alerts.

I only have one camera but so far I'm very impressed. The fact that I can add your devices (ip cams) to my NAS is excellent. They software is well thought out and has all the control I want, not like some other proprietary doorbell systems. The fact you've included a feedback in the app is also impressive. I hope you take note of the suggestions; mine is to add a timed mute button for notifications. Well done! I'll get a doorbell as soon as available in they UK if it'll connect to my NAS.

Acceptable, but not reliable. App regularly refuses to load video feed, sometimes gets there, then instantly crashes back to home, multiscreen mode takes ages to load, won't always add extra cameras in anything even resembling a logical order. Extremely unstable app, very frustrating to use, even over high speed broadband. Using to keep an eye on dementia sufferers.

Cameras very good for the price. Would rate 5/5 if the live view worked better when not at home. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. At home it works perfectly though I want to see my live cameras away from home with no problems. The time line bar on sd card preview is very stuttery and it's not great to use. I'd prefer detections to appear on timeline only and not push notifications. A quiet detection if you will. In summary good value

Camera freezes after 5 minutes and you have to press continue in order to keep viewing. Very iratating and easily fixed. People have been complaining about this feature for a while and still no fix. Would give 5 stars if it wasnt for this feature and the feeling that TP-link dont care about their customers.

Useless program. Implements 5 mins timeout regardless if you're on the same wifi or not. All tickets you raise will be met with the same response of either downloading a 3rd party app so you can view uninterrupted or to modify router settings. DO NOT BUY THEIR CAMERAS

Easy to use and manage devices. Works well with Alexa. Unable to update firmware for devices (to be fair, I dont really care either). Would be nice to have more icons.

Used to be decent with crashes occuring every now and then. After the latest update, the app either crashes immediately or crashes after you try to view a camera. Extremely frustrating.

Brilliant app and top quality equipment from tapo, I've got 2 cctv cameras and my whole house smart bulbs and also smart plugs, easy to set up and get going, the app is easy to use and easy to customise to your liking I can't fault it atal, apart frm the setting line boundary be good to adjust the direction of where the lines go (the direction the boundary in the middle instead of 2 ways direction either left or right) and a select all option on the app notifications apart frm that its brilliant

**2022-04 update** App is garbage again. It now won't use high quality stream despite having an expensive router that hasn't skipped a beat with any other device. **Update** app working perfectly since update. The app is draining the battery of all my devices so fast that the fast charge cable can barely keep up with it. Even with brightness of the screen turned down to minimum my phone is becoming hot to the touch. No other app on my devices does this. Sort it out please Tp-link!

Used for years now for camera's and about 8 plugs , some connect some don't over the last few weeks. Brilliant WiFi so why now. I have recommended to dozens of people in the passed but wouldn't now.

Excellent quality video and easy to control the camera from the app. For the price of the camera the quality of the video is great. Only thing I would like is an audible alarm sound from the app if movement is detected rather than from the camera which seems a bit pointless.

Although the P100 plugs are easy to set up, can be controlled via the Tapo app and linked to Google Home, for some reason they aren't actually showing up in the Home app like they used to which is really frustrating. I used to be able to tell the Google Assistant to turn on/off the lamps which are plugged into the two which are set up, but now can't. (I have tried uninstalling/unlinking, doing a factory reset then setting them up again, but they still aren't showing in the Home app)

The camera is brilliant and puts my mind at rest especially when I'm alone at night. The picture quality is excellent and it's so easy to set up that a 12yr old could do it. It brilliant u can set an alarm to scare unwanted intruders and set an alert if someone crosses your boundary. I would definitely recommend this and not had any problems since having it for a few days
