Love TPR's content, but this app is a mediocre delivery system. Frequently stops playing for no apparent reason, then you have to be force-fed their app-opening marketing spiel when you re-open the app...no big deal once, but REALLY annoying when you're trying to get back to what you were listening to for the second or third time.
Needs to get its buggy operations figured out and streamline the interface a but more. It's not terrible, but it will cut in and out and can take a minute to load.
No issues. Even running other apps across LTE while this is in the background is flawless. Great for listening to when in other areas that you can't use the FM radio.
Everything is slow to load and stops streaming frequently as if buffering but does not restart the program unless I intervene. This is not an issue with other apps I use to stream programming.
Poorly written app takes over sound and have to reboot sometimes.
I really like the content provided but the app itself is annoying.
This would be great if the audio did not give up after 3 to 5 minutes of listening.
Informative and concise. Keeps me in the know about TPR, and allows me to stream podcasts when out and about. Easy to use, no problems or bugs.
It's actually pretty good, responsive and kept up to date
I really like that I can get TPR news and information so easily. I think if the application responded faster itcwould only add to the experience. Very Nice!!
It works for me! The only time it doesn't is when it stops working voluntarily. Sometimes it will come right back on and other times I have to reload. But that is happening much less frequently than it did a year ago.
Content is outstanding. The app has the problem of interrupting the streaming every few minutes for buffering(?).
Regularly freezes across multiple devices running various Android versions. Also wish it would start streaming when the app is opened.
The app spontaneously closes way too often. TPR has fantastic content and should have an app that works consistently.
It goes in and out. Not reliable play, even if my phone isn't moved. If there are fixes or upgrades, please let the public know.
Always cuts in and out. Videos, which require much more bandwidth, do fine.
Reporting is top notch. App frequently cuts out in the middle of a segment, picking up many seconds later having missed important parts of the report.
5/16/20 update. For the last 2 months this TPR app has been flawless. 3/20 Like others I find the the app will shut down at times, or simply not load audio for live streaming. Well who will Still load and play pod casts it won't play live radio.
Very easy to use. It is a breeze to start streaming on of TPR's stations.
love the music and how it's passionate about this station partnering with the school's to bring classical music where otherwise not have exposure to it.
It's a good app, giving finicky at times but not bad for public radio. Allows me to be informed on the go.
app is ok but cuts in and out whereas directly streaming from the TPR website does not...nor do my other music apps.
Quick and easy. My experience with app has been great - solid and clear.
Very good the app Works very well no problems don't need an equalizer don't want to play the piano
it's ok. gets the job done when looking for local TPR station. The app does tend to randomly cut out or stop streaming what I'm listening to sometimes but I dont know if that is something that can be improved by adjusting my wifi/internet settings or whatever. Seems to be a ubiquitous problem regardless of where I am. It's a little annoying but besides that the app is convenient for listening to local NPR or nationally broadcast dailies that I may have missed like Marketplace or whatever.
