The app is not as accurate as you would hope but it's a good reference point. My biggest complaint is when you first open the app it asks you if you are on any diets and if you say no you can not add any diets to your preferences or recipes without manually inputting them. I've never been on a Keto diet but i wanted to see if it would suggest some healthy options but it doesnt. Overall it is a decent app and the best thing is it doesnt spam you with annoying ads.
I like the variety of ways you can add food (type, barcode, or voice), especially the ability to add custom recipes. I find this easier to use than either Noom or MyFitnessPal for someone that doesn't eat a lot of processed foods. The only thing it's missing is an easy way to apply your frequent use foods (like if I always eat the same breakfast).
This is easy to use and has a nice and neat display that is free from clutter and annoying adds. My only wish is that I could connect my VeSync scale and other fitness apps so that all my information is collected in one easy to read place. *UPDATE: Please add more ways to log new products that aren't in your database, more exercise equipment such as a recumbent elliptical, and also more ways to measure your portion sizes (cups, ounces, grams, each etc.) for each item.
I've been using this app for months now and it "was" great. I'm thinking that they recently updated it badly because you used to be able to hit the meal add button and you would see a list of the foods and a drinks you've eaten in past days and were able to choose and add them without having to search all over again. Now you have to start all over again to add food each day. NOT GOOD ANY MORE... PLEASE FIX THIS BACK TO HOW IT WAS SET UP BOFORE!!!!
Loving it so far. Once you figure out how to navigate, add foods and basic use, it's very easy. Gives you protein, carbs and fats for free version. Every food i scanned with the barcode was accurate. Easy to add your own. Large data base as far as i can see. Probably going to get the pay version. Good job Nutritionix!
Needs Favorite Foods. This is the closest I've found to the Sparkpeople app I loved so much, and I'm glad to have access to it now. It logs easily, has a very wide variety of foods, and lets me pick the serving size to the gram- however, it is very time intensive because it doesn't let you keep recent or favorite foods in the search options. You have to manually search it (even in the history, foods are not just listed) each time and it's obnoxious.
It does what you want great. Nothing fancy. Simple design, which I like. But it really has an excellent library of foods. Even full menu of many restaurant chains. One thing I would ask. On View daily summary I would like to proteins to percentages. And show the actual goal for each category.
This is a great app! There's a lot of features in a simple to use layout. I haven't used the app and not been able to do something I want with it. The food database is extensive, and it's easy to add foods you can't find. I find it really helpful that you can choose different types of measurement for foods, I use a kitchen scale to get really accurate numbers.
This app is simple and straightforward. It food register was created by dietitians so there is no searching for the "correct" version of foods among hundreds of options. The selections available for generic foods are accurate based on my own independent verification. I used to calculate something like potato salad by component by hand, but I trust this app to get it right. The app also has portions for all foods in grams, which is essential w/ a food scale. It also has good predictive behavior.
It was amazing until it stopped remembering my food history. Having to rescan and reenter everything everyday is deeply annoying. Other than that it's a great tool that is easy to use and provides comprehensive information about what you're eating. Please fix the history!
The history of the foods I recently ate completely disappeared. I know for a fact that I've tracked some foods, especially ones I eat everyday, but they either are no longer in my history or the barcode scanner doesn't log the food as if it has never been in the system. I've had this app for years and this has only been ongoing 1 month. The app has always been great but I can't recommend it with these minor hiccups.
Good database, does the job perfectly very well. The add to function for water is mightily appreciated. Nitpicks: can be a Pain to find the right entry for multiple outlets with the same product. Another small annoyance is that you can't see a carts total nutrient value before adding it to the log, so if you're experimenting with your options you either have to count everything manually or add the sample to the log to check it, then delete it from the log if you choose smtg else.
Good but sometimes weird, for instance when I select Today, late snack, it adds the food to tomorrow's date instead of today. I had to set it as yesterday, late snack, in order to get it to register as today's late snack. This is pretty important to me because it is the only way to record 6 meals a day without doubling up the meals under breakfast, lunch, dinner, so I can see how each meal looks in regards of macros. Aside from that, pretty good.
Brilliant. Extremely simple, lightweight app. Gets the job done well. It's really focused on doing a few things right instead of having too many features. What I love about Nutritionix is that it doesn't keep pushing me to buy a premium subscription for keeping a basic food diary. Really happy with it and looking forward to using this app for quite a while.
