This app looks better, is easier to use and better organized than Harry's lap timer. It's definitely the best free timer that I've tried. Your first time using that app it may not be obvious how the user interface works. It reminds me a bit of an iOS app in that way. Once you change a setting, you are already done and can just hit the back button on your phone.
When you get it working correctly it's a very good app, sometimes it didn't seem to know quite where the start line was even with a 10hz GPS receiver. The main problem I'm having is when transferring to race render and than uploading to YouTube. But generally it's great to get some idea whether you are making improves to your lap times with the adjustments to sets to your car.
First impression is 4 starts. I'm using it for non-race data collection so the fact that the video and csv are pre-aligned is beautiful. -1 star because the interface could be more polished and the file sharing (internal v. external) is clumsy. Maybe I just don't have the use case where that feature makes sense?
We used this app to record our autocross runs at an event this weekend. Still don't have everything on the app figured out. Navigation within the app was a bit frustrating at first. However we were able to get some video files. But could not get the auto start and stop to work properly.
Great tool for HPDE! Nice way to add some data to your videos. Ideal for those who want to improve driving skills, but not ideal for those trying to be competitive. There are better tools out there for more professional lap timing, but this is great for personal use.
Absolutely love the app, and it definitely beats riding around with the laptop all the time!!! And you can have a lot of fun with the timing trackers. Also the ability to clear check engine lights with your cell phone is awesome in and of itself!!
Works... But have to have screen on.. App not optimised, phone not on data saving mode. App is also set as "EXEMPTED" in the standby state of developer options. Should not be a reason for this to stop working as competitor apps work fine with the screen off. If I'm missing something, please tell me.
Can I export Data and Video to a MP4 file for sharing purposes without using the RaceRender application? Can't seem to find a way to do it with the DEMO version of TrackAddict. I am using Android 11. After further investigation looks like Android 11 prevents any tools from accessing the data folder. No way to get the MP4 files off of the phone. Sorry about the ongoing comment, but I think I found a way to get the MP4's. Need to do some more investigation, more later. Ok the move function from phone to external allows you to access the files. Now checking out how RaceRender adds the capability needed.
Great app. Honestly the FREE version is more then most would need. You can make MAJOR improvements on lap times with little more then a STOP WATCH, NOTEPAD & PEN, and a little KNOW HOW. However the extra features are ABSOLUTELY STILL WORTH IT... (i upgraded to grand prix). Editing a vid I shot last night of my race with modified 2019 stingray....uhh pushes throttle ONCE! and buh bye lol.... i was able to reel him in after about 110-120mph.
I've had this for quite some time now and the only time it has worked properly were the first 2 times and even then it wasn't quite right. In drag race mode, it will start counting but never reaches 1/4 mile even if I've gone 2 whole miles. Honestly this could be a great app if it worked properly...
All-in-One Package! Great for HPDE. Replaces hundreds of dollars of specialized equipment (camera, GPS logger), and automatic overlay of data on the video during playback. Real-time predictive laptimes provide instant feedback to know if you improved in that section. Seamless syncs to my OBD device via bluetooth. Running on Galaxy S9+.
This is such a thorough and well thought out app. With plenty of functionality and integration. Huge props to the team. If I have any feedback it would be this: I enjoy the data-driven nature of the UI and the information density. However, some of the UI is a bit difficult to figure out for the first time. Amazing app folks!
This app is so awesome! I use it for autocross and it's superb. You can send your video and data to the free program RaceRender and make a polished video to help you review your runs and improve, as well as show other people your cool stuff. Interface is not always intuitive so figure it out before you need to use it.
I very rarely give five stars but this is such an all inclusive and abundant app for free that I think it deserves it. I haven't gotten all of the features to work yet, it takes a minute to figure out but I like what I see so far, and everything I've seen so far is enough for a good rating. Once you learn how to use it it starts to become more intuitive and user-friendly and everything starts to flow impressively.
used to like it but recently it's gone south. I bought the external GPS they say is best, qstarz 818, and my lap times are 5 to 6 s condos off in the app. it freezes and then races. the speeds are incorrect.
I have been using this app off & on ever since getting the MPVI2. After a past update I had instances where the drag race option would continue to count up even after I passed the selected distance (1/8, 1/4 miles, etc..). It may have been resolved by now. I have a few suggestions that I think would be a nice addition. I think a nice gauge display option with up to 4 to 6 gauges per page would be awesome to have. Also making it easier to scan & clear codes from the main screen would be a nice.
