Tracking Tool for Pokemon GO

The August 7th patch for Pokemon GO patch added a new tracking system in which monsters located within a 200 meter radius are displayed in a "Sightings" list. 125664 square meters is a large area to search for a pokemon, so I created this app to help narrow it down.
Drop a blue beacon at your current location when the pokemon you want to find is on your radar and drop a red beacon when you move too far away and it disappears. You can determine the location of the pokemon by searching in the areas where blue regions intersect, and outside of the red areas. This area will be shaded green on the map.

THIS IS NOT A LIVE OR CROWD-SOURCED MAP. Pokemon WILL NOT appear in this app; you will need to use the official Pokemon GO app to actually see and catch them. The purpose of Tracking Tool is to help you manually locate Pokemon by using the Sightings list more effectively.

this app doesn't do anything

I think this app hasn't updated since sightings last changed. I think they are using a 200 yard circle, but the game shows pokemon in a 400 yard circle. Other than that I like it. Its better than nothing for sure, and that's all Niantic has left us with.

I would prefer an increased transparency on the capture & exclude circles that appear on the map. Currently multiple overlapping circles obscure the map they are overlaid with. I would also prefer if the green hexagons were smaller to increase the resolution on the area where a Pokémon could actually be

To dispay only the portion of the original circle once new circles are added. In short, don't draw another circle on top, just subtract from the original one.

Tutorial could be a bit less specific with the whole '5 hexagons or less' thing. Besides that no complaints. GPS works and the overlay is a huge help.

This tracker was amazing. But it has become unusable with the Nearby System.

...and it makes you wonder why this simple feature is not already implemented in pokemon go.

Really very useful. Dev keeps updating the app. Would happily pay $$ for this.

Do not download this app

I'm level 30 and have 137 Pokémon in my Pokédex. I have never used a scanner. I can triangulate without an app in wide open spaces but using this app is so much easier, especially in built up areas. If it appears in my sightings, I can catch it 90% of the time with this app. It takes a bit of time to learn to use it but it is time well spent. My name is Tiddlyflop, and I endorse this app :-)

Only fails when I walk too slow and can't find it before it despawn. Found three starters just today.

Would be great to have an option where red circles hides blue so you only see the blue bits.

I don't get how you see the pokemon!!!

I've been working on an app like this, and I see you've got some of the same ideas. Mad props pulling it off! I've never made a phone app before, but each one of these I see encourages me to try even if I'm slow at it, this feature-packed one especially. Thanks for the motivation and, of course, the handy tool! Great work.
