It's unnecessarily unintuitive and hard to work with imported abc files, which is my primary use for such an app. The so-called library does not offer many of the different tunes I'd expect to be available, given the app's name.
Useful app for displaying (and even editing) music files. I'd love to be able to associate this app with .abc files so that they can be opened form another app (e.g., OneDrive).
Great app for keeping all my Morris and session tunes easily accessible. Search on internet time site is also handy.
It used to be brilliant, but now it doesn't work on the latest version of Android. Is it going to be updated?
Used it to learn middle eastern melodies for purpose of singing them, by writing out the tunes in ABC notation.
works well, good no frills program does what 's needed
No instructions and doesn't work on new tablet.
Load of rubbish
Thank you for this wonderful aid in the study of Celtic tunes. All hard work that must've gone into its development is greatly appreciated.
Brilliant app, can you please add wake lock in app mate so the screen says active when learning a tune. Amazing app
The app is really good. However, I noticed that the sylesheet directives are honored in the editor but not in the viewer. In the viewer they seem to be "deleted". Is this a bug or is this intentional?
Outstanding app!!
It's a great app but there is no sound when I play a tune on Moto g4 running nougat. It helps if you notice that the sound in the app is muted😕. Upped the rating to 5.
I love this thing.
Brilliant app - minor issue with the edit and new file functions under Android 7, which I fixed by creating an abc files folder in the root of the tablet's "own" sd card (as distinct from the "external" card) and pointed the app at that - everything now seems to work. Also had email exchange with the developer - quick and helpful responses - most grateful for his input. Many thanks, Nicolas!
This is an A+ app, and the developer is responsive and very good. If you play or want to learn folk or traditional music (Irish, Italian, etc etc etc), you'll find the ABC music notation system is a great tool. There's a ton of music available in ABC, and it's easy to use, easy to learn, and easy to edit the songs. I've been waiting + looking for a way to display, play, and edit my many ABC songs on a tablet. I had not found anything that did the job until this, and this one does it very well. I had an issue on my specific version of Android- I emailed the developer and he fixed it and issued an update a few days later, bam, everything works beautifully. Kudos to him for making this. A+ !!!
Great app. I use it almost every day. I have used several abc apps, android and ipad, and overall I would say this one is definitely the best. Keep up the good work.
A fairly solid ABC-file reader. Missing a key feature: transposition. I have been using it weekly for several months now, and it is reasonably fast, easy to use, and reliable.
Excellent app. Highly recommended. I use it for learning tunes on the Uilleann pipes. Excellent website search capability. A+++++
I Love this app! The BEST ABC app ever
It's simply the best .ABC player available for android. Load melnets_big_abc_file and you have access to over 25,000 traditional tunes right on your mobile. (I've no links with either of these) . Thanks Nicolas!
The documentation seems to be missing. I'm not Session user and I haven't figured out the tunebook server stuff yet. This app does the best job of formatting music for the screen. Other ABC apps make you scroll up,down left, right to view. This one scales the music just right.
Has trouble playing back ABCs generated by Starbound Composer, yet to find 1 song that plays properly.
This app displays abc formatted highland bagpipe music perfectly, and even plays the grace notes very well indeed for most tunes. You can easily email tunes, both abc and graphics, to band members. I can store my entire collection of tunes on the tablet and find them easily.
Recommending to all my trade music friends
The Best ABC App by far
HI, Something that help me using tradmusician. First : renaming the "T:" field by adding something like "1-1"., " 1-2." regarding the sets and order of Tunes in the Set. And then reindexing the file. Second : Adding a "Z:" field copying the 2 first bars of a Tune . Whith that add , Tradmusician is a perfect app for me ! thanks Nicolas
