Seems like a great way to discover new trails, but any time I try to filter by activity on the discover page (ebike) it just reverts back to mountain bike and doesn't filter for ebikes. It would be nice on the map to have the actual park labels and trails disappear when the ebike filter is active, right now just the trails gray out and it's really cluttered.

I love this app! I use it on every ride I go on. The map has so many awesome layers, my favorites are: landownership (to find blm/nf/sf for camping), light pollution (star gazing), wind fires/smoke and many more. I'm giving it 4 stars because the pro cost is ridiculous! And the app is useless without pro. I got the early adopter so it's 18$/yr for me which I'm okay paying. Would never pay 35$/yr tho

Did nothing, doesn't work. GPS is on went to download areas and nothing happened absolutely nothing. So it's a waste of an app. Uninstalled and reinstalled and then manually put in my zip code and it brought up zero results which is incorrect. And before you respond and say, it's my phone or my internet connection no it's not..

After years of giving them data, they now charge $35/yr. That's not great for a casual user. Their FREE version lacks a lot of functionality. I can download a region such as the North Shore but the trail maps don't show the same amount of detail. Sad to see the big money grab. Maybe OK for someone who rides more than once a week.

It used to be good (not great) and free. I would agree to pay something, especially if they fixed the bugs and /or made it better. But no, it is now a whopping 36$CDN and no or very little improvement. They send you an email saying you can get it at 50% off. Read the fine lines: "Don’t miss out, take 50% off now through June 1st". That means it's only 50% for the first month. They never mention it is for a whole year. And it's only for existing customers. So where are the savings?? I have never paid more than 8$ a year for an app. So even at 50% off for the whole year, it's still 18$! That is way too much.

I've had this app installed for years, liked it, but used it sparingly in that time. I couldn't work out what had changed loading it up for the first time in 2022. With the exception of this big pro advertisment front and center, blocking the view of and ability to navigate the maps. Read the latest reviews and got the info. I've no need for the app now, so I am uninstalling as well. Also, no need for a reply from the developer.

Great for finding places to ride and reports but don't trust it to save your rides. It eats a solid third of my rides after I'm done and save it.

TF basically allowed use of the app free in exchange for user data, and once they'd collected enough data that they didn't need to do that anymore, they changed to a slimy subscription model. A single payment *might* be acceptable for this app but a subscription is just greedy. Now TF are profiting from data that they collected from customers they now want to charge to use said data. Scummy.

Took all the data from the community that made the app and tried to charge that same community for using it. Pretty low if you ask me. They could have ran ads but they went full scum instead. That's why their ratings are this low.

App is unusable because it cannot download the maps. I have tried reinstalling multiple time with no success...

Jor. S. Feb 23, 2022

I understand that things can't be free but the cost of this subscription is too high. A payment model where you bought individual maps for different regions would be a fairer way to charge people for what they're actually using... And charge them again if they don't back the data up if server costs are really the issue here. 35$ a year is just milking us. Oh and lol @ charging us for keeping "illegal" trails off the app. So cool that you want to waste money doing more than just labeling them.

Great app for finding mtb trails, but annoyingly logs me out of my Pro subscription from time to time. I also dislike the underhanded way it suddenly changed from "trailforks will always be free" to a practically useless free version and having to pay a subscription to access information that users provided trailforks for free.

The trails dissappear when I zoom into them. Facebook login doesn't work. Paywall is annoying. Using on Samsung s10 ***Edit*** The trails for my area were downloaded. Reinstalling the app and downloading the map again fixed the issue. Changed to 4 stars, not 5 die to price.

Great for navigating trails, but only if you pay for them. You only get a small local area of trails unless you pay, which is not useful for travelling to other places to ride.

Great app, but there is some bug that appeared in all old versions and still is not fixed. First time i installed it everything is ok for a few days an suddenly during mountain bike riding the direction of the cursor is different then the real riding direction. I see also the map is upwards. Also when i ride by the route i see it in opposite direction. After reinstalled the app it was ok for a while but the bug returned after few rides.

App is great, but the paywall ruined it. I used this app almost every day but my experience is destroyed. Worst of all I live in a region where there is not a lot of riding, so I travel a lot and this app is utterly usles. Good app, you don't need the extra money Trailforks.

Was the go to, but now you must pay to play even for the basics. Disappointing. Dont mind paying (and currently am) for advanced functions, but to access previously free, user contributed content is greasy.

Lin. a. B. H. Mar 19, 2022

Used to be a great app, but the developers got greedy. Adding bonus content and features for a subscription is fine, but taking away previously free content and locking it behind a paywall is not. For the casual user who is just using it to find and navigate trails, this is far inferior to other free apps out there. The free version of this app is pretty pointless now.

Changed every setting and can no longer have app working on the trail without it on and in my hand ? Updates appears to have ended this being usable. All battery saver settings are off.

Why does your search engine not return many trails in my area, while your website does? Why is everything on the map grayed out (yes trailforks, I'm running an official version of Android)? Compared to MTB Project, this thing is awful. Why would anyone ever pay for the pro version when the free version is like this?

Jas. F. Dec 17, 2021

Most extensive trail database of trails from when the app was free. However the paywall destroyed the app. Not only you only have a small zone without paying you can't download the trails so when you are out there it blurs where you are which is extremely dangerous if you actually rely on the app for navigation. They should just have ads like other apps.

Dev suggestion for fixing issue I had with my maps worked. I've had some issues in the past with rides not syncing, but overall the app works pretty well.

I miss the old free version. I primarily used trailforks to find new trails when I was out on a road trip with my bike. It was nice to see some reviews, some photos, to help me decide where to go. Now it cost money for me to do the same thing, And I get a free part of my hometown map. I don't mind the idea of paying to use something I enjoy but I'd rather have and ad version or pay by state/area than a subscription model.
