I've been using this app for years and always thought it was worth 5 stars. After the removal of the live train times feature I cannot rate it more than 1 star. Update: I'm not able to update my payment card details unless buying a ticket, so I must remember to have the card with me the next time I travel. I thought the idea was to use the app instead of a credit card.
Limited functionality. It's impossible to actually pick the seat you want unlike Lner. I've got zero control where I sit when using XC. Anyway in the last few months advance tickets have become incredibly difficult to find in 1st class. The trains carry very few passengers now but there's never any tickets available. This app isn't much use. Don't XC want people to travel with them anymore? Apparently not.

My favourite moments are that it saves my usual trips, how easy to pay for the chosen ticket and the way how to open tickets to scan. It helps save time to book. Book ticket in minutes. You can find tickets at great prices and the app itself is user friendly and easy to use. Highly recommend to anyone planning to travel around the UK
Used to be good but a recent update has screwed up payments so they fail. E.g. payment fails with stored card. If I enter a different card, I get a "duplicate card" error even tho that card isn't visible in the app. A shame as this app used to be pretty handy. Am about to delete it as it's now useless for purchasing tickets, at least for me.
Can't actually buy tickets anymore. The app forces you to verify through your banking app but the payment window crashes as soon as you leave the app to do so

Easy to use and I find it works better than the national rail app. Has no booking fees.
I like this app, it's more straightforward than the competition. It is, however, a bad app in Android's standards, riddled with bugs. A very annoying one is that, if you change the hour or minute on the Arrive/Depart section, it's impossible to change it back to the current hour or minute in a subsequent search. It's been there ever since the dreadful redesign and I'm almost entertained to find out every time there is an update that it is still not fixed!
Really quick way to buy train tickets skipping queues and reduce paper use. Does bug out on occasion on the final purchase screen. Would be good if you could leave the app running and when you go onto another app and then have to switch back to train tickets it showed your ticket still instead of having to reload it which is tricky in areas of bad signal.
Would be better if tickets that you've downloaded and activated stayed visible without the app repeatedly trying to redownload them. At the moment you have to make the ticket inspector wait for the app to re-display your ticket which can take a long time if you're in a poor signal area. This also delays you trying to get through automatic ticket barriers and I've nearly missed several trains as a result.
Best train app out there! A few suggestions: 1. Remember "from" and "to" on "Plan & Buy" - I buy the same journey every day. 2. For "Ticket type", accept my selection when I tap "Return" - don't make me tap "Select" as well! 3. Lose the "Activate ticket" stuff. It's annoying and pointless - I could just use the PDF ticket without activating. 4. Reduce the number of taps needed to get to my QR codes (point 3 will help!). 5. How about a notification 30 minutes before my train that takes me directly to my ticket? This would be so useful! Thanks!
A few tweaks and it'd be perfect. Easy to use. Live updates aren't always accurate but the prices are reasonable.
First timing using this app - extremely easy to book tickets.
Simple and quick. No booking fee, easy to navigate and easy to register.
This app worked just fine until the most recent update I did on 23rd july 2019 while on the way to the train station for a journey I had booked, unfortunately I couldn't even access my ticket, lucky for me that i had a very understanding ticket guy at the station otherwise I would not have been able to travel!! Fast forward to one week later I am trying to access my return ticket home, the app still does not work and crashes everytime I open it!! Sort it out PLEASE!! Its a Bloody nightmare!!!!!!

Getting better. A recent update has improved things. Still doesn't remember commonly used stations well. Split ticketing would be useful. Easy expenses export function would put this at the top of the tree for me. Generally works well when you need it though and I think the Devs are doing a good job here.

Simple, quick and convenient
Rest app and does everything I want it to do with regarding booking a ticket, reserving a seat etc, but it could be more intuitive. Recent searches and favourites should be able to also save the time that you book regular train tickets without me having to go through and select them all the time.
Easy to use - no confusing misdirection :)
If you have to use an e-Ticket App then this is possibly the one to use because it's not as bad as the others I've tried. That is about as positive I can get about it. The problem seems to be that all Rail Ticket Apps try to almost be too helpful which means that buying basic "I don't know exactly what time" tickets involves going through several pages choosing journey times to reserve seats on journeys you end up not making. You then have to make sure you're not buy Advance tickets.
I love using this app for all my travels. Super friendly
I've used this app for years now and never disappoints. Very reliable and always has the cheapest tickets. The ability to print tickets at home alongside the digital ticket is a handy bonus. It could probably do with an update for the look of the app, it doesn't look as eye catching as LNER or Trainpal apps, for instance, but it has the edge over them performance wise. The only negative is lack of warning when your train is cancelled. A notification would be nice as it's happened twice now.
