Edit, the reliability of this app and the time it takes to load, reload and retry when it doesn't sync is incredible. I've never known an app used so widely to be so poorly written First review: Reliable app, just wish it was easier for me to draw conclusions from some of the graphs and charts etc
Easy to bring up data and view individual workouts. Since I haven't used it too much, I still find the summary screens a bit hard to navigate. Overall really like the product.
If you're educated in sport science I'm sure the app is great. If not, then it is just a tool to communicate with your coach. Unfortunately training sessions never load immediately, I always need to refresh or retry to see them. The lay out of your coaches comms is too compact and is best read as an email rather than on the app. More general info should be provided for all the app sections such as graphs, peaks...therefore having the option to self study what all the data means.
I have been using the app for years and since the beginning of January 2022 I can't sync or download anything on the app. I just read on the review page that another athlete had the same issue. The app has the same issue on the my tablet. Phone and tablet are a Samsung device. It's very frustrating as I am a Triathlon Coach and can't get access to athletes programs.
I use this app with my running coach. She sets my training plan and I do the workouts. It connects to Garmin Connect so all my workouts transmit automatically to Training Peaks. I like the the use of Fatigue, Fitness and Form as cumulative scores in this app based on training stress rather than VO2max.
I've been using training peaks for years. Many features are great, but I hate the fact that you cannot unpair or pair workouts from the app. Often the system pairs with a workout inaccurately, and it is impossible to change it unless you can get to the full site. And, if you have the app installed, it's impossible to do THAT from the phone as it will always reroute you to the app. I've complained about this issue countless times, to no avail.
Training peaks is incredible, the app on android is appalling, constant glitches and inability to load / sync training. Always perfect on the desktop. Update: app doesn't even open anymore. Not acceptable for a service that many people pay for, would move to an alternative if there was an equivalent.
App not working, installed the app about a week ago, app worked once after the installation, thereafter only a blue screen blank screen. Unistalled and installed x 2 same issue occurred. Phone : Huawei
Excellent data analysis, great syncing with other electronics, intuitive interface.
For Triathletes Only. Very specific to swimming, biking, and running and very steep learning curve for me. I've applied for a coach but nobody ever gets back to me. It's March now the New Year folks are out of the gym.
The best training app I have used, only deducting one star as the premium subscription is expensive and the free version is useless. But in terms of functionality and analysis there is nothing to match it in the market currently as far as I know.
Used to be really great. Now only says critical error, restart training peaks. Not useful with my coach.
I like it. It helps me stay in touch with my coach and his plan is laid out for me. It's a little difficult to navigate at first but you get used to it.
A great app. Lets me view fitness and multiple helpful stats, and up coming workouts when away from the computer.
Very user friendly and intuitive. Have not experienced any glitches. Highly recommend.
Works well with my Garmin watch, and uploads automatically. Great metrics, and an abundance of information, and concepts that help with training.
Fantastic app that manages the training provided by a coach. It is very good because the training sessions are easy to move around, they sync with my Garmin watch and bike computer without any of my engagement. The training data like my current level of fitness or fatigue are well presented and well explained. I recommend this service to every athlete.
Not even considering the price, this is a great training program. Each workout gives a three paragraph scientific explanation about how that workout will benefit you, which really helps to push yourself into the hurt locker. And then there's the incredible price. I'll continue to use training peaks.
Regardless of what connection I'm on this app loads updates veeery slowly ans in 50% of the time just fails to load and I need to try again. The experience has to be much smoother on getting updates from the server. Outside of that the app is not too bad
Great insight, especially to stop me over doing it! The ability to work with a coach makes it even better!
I love the structured approach with progressively harder workouts. Instructions are hard to follow interfacing with C2, but support is excellent! They lead me right to C2 sending data to TP. I ended up figuring out how to use Ergzone to program the workouts pretty easily.
Very much enjoy all the stats that are kept. But, the reason I tried it out was to import a Garmin connect workouts, which I have not been able to do.
Freezes while accessing drop-down menus during account creation, cannot bypass account creation to use the app
Probably one of the best apps I've used. So much data and connects seamlessly to my zwift and Garmin accounts.
The required functionality, particularly if you purchase a premium subscription is there. However the app itself (like the desktop version) is a bit of a UI/UX disaster, it looks like it was built in the 90s. It is truly unacceptable, particularly for paying customers. A serious update is desperately needed.
