2022 : switching back from Sncf Connect to This app (thank you Captain Train, your 2009 app is still thousand times more efficient than big'ol sncf !)
Worked flawlessly - used to book 6 trips on 11 trains in and between Italy, Switzerland, and France over 12 days using Android version on Motorola phone. Worked great, provinding all available options with times, classes, layovers, etc. Charging to credit card and receipt of Gmail within minutes. Able to load schedules to Google calendar via link. Easy access to QR codes in app to show onboard to conductor. Automatic reminders to phone. Fantastic!!
Absolutely ridiculous that you don't have a phone and only a email!!! Was booking a trip for 5 people 1st class and our credit card did go through the first time, so that after a call to the bank in the USA to clear matter, the app did not accept the card again!!! Needless to say Trainline lost on a massive deal! I'd suggest someone goes back to the drawing board!!
Quite nice, works well! The mobile app does not let me choose the currency, though (why do I have to pay in pounds when travelling through the Eurozone?). Also, they do not offer all of Thalys tickets (the Belgian all station option is not available, thus your tickets are pricey).
Good, but some trains/connections are not shown. For example, it might show only one train per hour when the national train app would've shown a second, quicker option using a transfer.
Great simple way to book train tickets. It's missing a few very obscure options that the SNCF website has, but it makes up for it with the efficiency of its interface.
I bought a tickets for a trip between Nice and Imperia but after getting to the train station I was told that on Saturdays the train doesn't actually go to the last station meaning my transfer won't be possible. I messaged Trainline using their "contact us" form but haven't heard back and it's been over 2 weeks. I had to buy another ticket and as I had to wait for another train my journey took much longer than expected. Needless to say I won't use it again.
Worked well on our recent 10 day trip to France and Switzerland. Was able to book tickets at short notice. American Credit cards worked seamlessly when it were being rejected by some of the other apps.
Better than trainline (non EU) app! When buying tickets through trainline EU you get to pay the actual train fare, the same ticket on the trainline app (non EU) is more expensive. It will ask to switch to the trainline (non EU) without mentioning the price difference, a bit deceiving.
I use it everytime when I travel to Italy to book my train journey and it's very handy and quick. one of the best apps. I recommend this app when traveling within EU to book your train journeys. Thanks to the devs.
Great app, but search needs more filtering! I need to be able to filter direct routes and mode. Bicycle options would be interesting too.
Most of time I receive the error "Oops an error has occurred" when trying to open/book a trip. Can't even use half of the app. Hope you fix it soon
Very convenient as long as you have a good internet connection and a credit card that is working. Took the hassle of paying through kiosk.
The user interface has a confusing (show later trains) button that will show trains for NEXT DAY. With very little warning, i ended up buying a train ticket for the day AFTER i planned to travel...
Great app! Now that there are Trainline pro accounts, it would be great to have the ability to login with more than one account (one business and one personal). Other than that, great app!
Constant updates ruin a once easy to use, aesthetically pleasing app. Its now ugly and... infact I wont bother. It's not for me. 5 years ago it was spot on. It still works. But the constant update method always kills decent apps
Extremely easy app to use, with multiple fairly useful features to check and be warned about the state of the trip and train.
I'd like Trainline to automatically add trip informations and tickets in a Google Calendar event 🗓️ after the purchase. A black theme for AMOLEDs ⬛ would be very appreciated too. Keep up the good work 😀
great user experience, interoperates flawlessly with foreign networks, including loyalty cards. Regarding France it actually works much better than the native SNCF app...
Tried to book 3 times l, got refunded and cancelled without reason. Terrible situation where there are 2 apps which are the same. Confusing customers.
Find it very easy and clear to find trains and times fares. Only thing- I don't see an option to pay with my Dutch maestro card or Ideal. Have to pay in ££ for a Euro trip.
Used it on my trip from Bratislava to Bonn, Cologne and back. More than happy with the app and prices. You can always rely on this app.
Excellent. Includes most of the discount-tickets, when possible. Very easy to use.
I used the laptop version booked my trains in France and netherland to Germany all worked well and showed on the App. I will use it again for future travel.
Very easy to use, but one must be very sure and check where they travel to first, but see their route map on sncf website.
Simple, intuitive, convenient, effective. Nothing to add.
This application does not recognize that I am in France. Hence it is impossible to use it on my smart phone has my account does not exist on the english version.
Just installed the app. But saw prices totally off. A trip Brno-Prague is not much more than 250 CZK but her it was more than 1000 CZK. So, watch out what you are paying for in here!
Lack the option to add the trip on Google agenda. Other than that perfect app
Works well and is easy to use. But now they are constantly trying to push us to switch to a new version of the app. DO NOT SWITCH. The new version removes the possibility to place options that you can pay later when you are sure of your travel plans. Any options that you have placed disappear when you switch.
