Will not use them ever again. They are fine when everything goes as planned but if you want to make any changes (eg due to the recent strikes in France) it's a major hassle. Customer service often can't/won't help, if you have a journey with connecting trains they view them as separate journeys so if something happens on part of the journey so it messes up the connection -not their problem. Better book directly with Thalys/SNCF/NS international.

So bad compared to the old Trainline (and CaptainTrain) app... the date selection without the calendar view is annoying. It used to be easy to have a ticket in my basket without buying it yet but I don't know how to do it anymore... When I go to see my bookings, there is no separations between reservations for future trains and past ones. Plus, the top one is not the closest train

A total disaster compared to Captain Train / Trainline... App Navigation is broken, the Contact us / FAQ is not user friendly at all unfortunately, you have to 'download' your ticket instead of having it preloaded, and the list goes on and on... Was a huge fan for years but fear I'll have to uninstall. Please contact me directly for more detailed feedback.

Very good app to book train tickets all around Europe. The helpline answers quickly. The only problem is that you cannot go backwards when you accidentally ask for a refund. The app doesn't ask for you confirmation before doing such important changes to your booking. This should be improved.

Great for booking, but useless if you have an issue. The app didn't show any indication that the first part of my 3-leg journey had been cancelled. Customer services suggested 2 trains that would make me miss the second leg. They outright refused to provide any kind of refund or compensation, just saying "we don't operate trains" and "check national rail for times and cancellations". Patronising and frustrating. Basically you can pay for tickets through the app but that's about it.

Works pretty well. Sometimes a bit annoying that it doesn't carry the search stations from Google over to the app. Also it doesn't make it clear that the same ticket will cover many times giving rise to"buying the wrong ticket" anxiety in case you don't get the train at the exact time on the order you made.

I've changed it to 4 stars from 5 now, as the app was much more intuitive to view favourites at a glance which was much more useful for a season ticket holder but now it requires more clicks and scrolling. Multiple journeys should be able to be shown on the same page like before to easier plan journeys.

This app is terrible, I bought a train ticket which disappeared just before the train arrived forcing me to buy another ticket at nearly twice the price. I checked several times throughout the day and no signs of the ticket until 11 hours later when it reappeared when it's worthless. You cannot get in contact with anyone at Trainline to sort issues out with this appalling app. DO NOT USE THIS APP

Something's gone wrong with the business dashboard. I used to be able to see the tickets and full journey details, as well as switch between my personal and business accounts. Not anymore. All I can do now in business is to search for new tickets. Existing bookings only appear on the mobile website and don't provide all details, like changes, seats etc. Rather unhelpful to use on the go.

I have been using this app 4 days a week for pretty much 7 months. So that over 100 bookings and journeys. It has only been down for maintenance once at a non peak time (10-11) ish and was finished before 12ish and you could still access previously bought tickets. Always emailed. Digital railcard is great and 9/10 it remembers the railcard on the last search. I find the "Favourites" view useful, it allows me to plan multi-change journeys and contingencies. Ads only shown when connected to WiFi.

It's been a brilliant app until the last update where it decided to buy a single rather than a return, so I ended up having to buy another ticket and missed my train 😭. I think the developer have added new route through the live times and search menu but it selects a single by default so unless you are looking carefully you'll buy the wrong ticket

Automatically removed my railcard then double charged me, refused to refund or help in any way. Forced me to have 2 active railcards at the same time then refused to reconcile the two, despite only needing the second because they removed the details of my first, claiming it had expired when it had 4 months remaining. Then they charged me full price for the ticket anyway and refused to refund the difference despite the fact I had TWO active railcards. Avoid Trainline at all costs.

The price you see is not the price you pay! Just before submitting your Creditcard there is usually an extra fee you have to pay. Because of this, it's more expensive then buying from other apps. In response to Andy: Costumers should told upfront how much they will pay regardless how you spend the money.

Used to be quite easy to work. But in the last month it consistently blanks when you try to search for journeys. To the point where, in critical situations, I've had to use a machine to get a train instead of the app. I'd use something else until they sort this issue out.

Usually I would rate this app a lot higher, but every time I try to add my digital Railcard, it doesn't have a single UK Railcard option from the drop-down menu. It says "find your Railcard" in an attempt to sell you one, but gives no option for linking one that already exists.

Ton. Š. May 18, 2022

I tryed booking my tickets. Total was 85€. The app refused payment because the total was not 95€. I tryed to do it again and the payment was refused again because the price is now 120€. This was all within a few minutes. It's just rude from them!

Travel companion from hell... Apps won't show tickets, or only the ones for 2 trips down the line, not the return leg ticket you need *NOW* to board your train. Also, Split Save = a wonderful way to sit duck on platforms, watching many trains for your intended destination go buy, but not being able to board any for an hour because none stop at the station stated on your *split save* ticket. App ditched.

Completely unusable in the past two weeks. Does not take payment using any of the available payment methods that work fine elsewhere, and just returns the uninformative message 'well this is awkward; we could not take your payment at the moment. It was a good app, but now is completely useless

Every time I search for a ticket all I get is a very irrelevant advert. When I look online using any other ticket vendor I can find tickets. This app was only ever useful because it was simple and easy to use. The tickets always were slightly more expensive, with a booking fee, than you could find elsewhere, but I thought it was so easy to use that it was worth paying a little extra. It is now a complete waste of time. Probably they have decided to try and get more ad revenue and broke the app

Oh.. i. Mar 9, 2022

Its good and easy to use and so does having their digital railcard. But when I wanna change a date or time due to personal circumstances it will say "something went wrong" and "cannot process your change" and it's extremely annoying. But when it works its fine.

M. D. May 23, 2022

Why are there massive adverts on your app? You've built them seamlessly into the UI that it's like you're trying to get people to direct off your website to potential threats. Oh wait no it's for a little extra monetization. Nice business model for a UK company. Worst tech around. Wish I could post a picture on this trash show.

Law. B. Apr 29, 2022

The app is easy enough to use BUT they now charge a "booking fee"!! It's £1.50 and is straight profit for Trainline. What extra costs have they incurred to deliver an online facility? None. My advice is use the rail companies direct to purchase tickets and save yourself £1.50. It's a bit more clunky but this trend towards "admin fees" needs to stop.

Nat. S. May 4, 2022

The app worked perfectly for months but recently it hasn't been applying my railcard discount when I've tried to buy tickets. The only thing that worked was uninstalling and installing again.

Ken. M. Mar 15, 2022

Fantastic app, so good and easy to use. Just take it easy as you book checking details and having your tickets on your phone ensures you never go without them. Well done. Perhaps what would be a great bonus, is having the train you have booked, showing where to board to access reserved seats? Thank you...
