Trainspotter

I sent an email to the developer regarding the search function not searching when the return key had been pressed (my own fault) I had to tap the little magnifying glass. However, upon receiving the reply, I learned that he has added the return button search function to a new update!! Honestly, absolutely fantastic support. In 15 or so years, I've never had this experience. Brilliant !! Thank you.

This app is great! I really recommend it! My criticisms back in 2018 seem to have been looked at (quite a while ago now, so well done with that!). App seems to run smoothly so far on my new Samsung A52. One thing bugs me a little: when you are viewing the lists, click on an item/loco in a list and go back a page, it scrolls the page so that that item is at the bottom of the page - rather than where you left the scroll. Really doesn't matter but nice aesthetic features if to be considered!

Needs some tweaking. Great idea. An app based storage system for recording sightings is long overdue. However there are a couple of niggles: There appears to be no way to set the sighting date to 'unknown', useful for transferring historic data to the app. Also, long disappeared classes are included, which is fantastic, but there are notable omissions. For example, why is only 1 class 17 shown and where are all the class 41, 42 and 43 Warships?

Interface is very nice, but it irritated me that there is no option to set the date of a sighting to today automatically, or to log the time at all, and when restoring backups your it selects the folder under your finger immediately after you stop scrolling, which did get on my nerves. However, the virtual book is a pleasure to use, especially with the community-sourced images. Overall I'll stick with my current spotting app (SpotLog), but with a little more refinement I may well try this again!

Very good app, but spoilt by it seems, the complete lack of support from the developer. I have sent 2 emails regarding a query. Unfortunately I've not had any response. There may well be some genuine reason for this, but it would have been appreciated if somehow an acknowledgement had been sent. UPDATE. Pete has now got back to me, genuine reason for the delay.

Great app not one issue with it. As you can expect with trains swapping companys or being withdrawn updates might be need and the developers do that as soon as possible and is near enough all up to date. If you enter a loco in and put a location as soon as you press save it will automatically put date and time (Note only if you don't put date in manually) it remembers your location ready for your next entry and you can also can put notes on.

I have been using this app for about 6 months now and I have to say it is brilliant, I have experienced zero problems with the app, and also works very fast. I personally use the app when out trainspotting, and then transfer them into my book, the app gives livery information, allocated depot, previous numbers, owner and its' status, a personal favourite feature of mine is the trips, so I can see when and where I saw the train or loco, would definitely recommend this app to any trainspotter. 5/5

Great for the times you don't have a pen and paper. Autofill broken again in the 'edit sighting' field

A great app, beats the old pencil and notebook. A small criticism. What's included on the data base would seem a bit arbitrary as a few scrapped and preserved locos are included. I would like to see all former BR and subsequent private company locos included regardless of current status

Good app with a lot of potential. As others have said lacking a lot of correct information, would also be great if could add photos and videos.

Fantastic and invaluable app for trainspotting on the go. Use it all the time to make spots on my phone. Great features, regularly updated. Highly recommended.

great app, tells you alot for the size of the app. however the updates like photos and information can be slow. also if you uninstall the app accidentally like i did and it wipes the database clean again so id add a log in system so you don't loose your spots

Great app, contains a lot of trains, it has useful features and I have multiple trains on it. 1 problem though, I can't figure out how to add images to tags.

Great app!!! Can't fault it shame we can't upload photos tho. Otherwise everything is sound lads!!! Also if anyone is passing through Leicester. The yard has a various selection of loco's.

It's good and I like this app it saves hastle of notebooks and pens but could u please update class 313 no 313121 as it has now been stored the whole app could do with more updates but overall very good Another problem is supertram departures from Rotherham Central are glitched and just say "null"

February 2022 and the Great Northern Class 717s are still shown as 'under construction' This app would be good if it was updated once in a while

I recently got a new device and have now lost everything from this app. I backed it up, but the file says that it is empty. Perhaps you could have an option to back up to a Facebook or Google account.

I really like this app, it tells me about all of the trains in the UK. 390033's status in the Class 390/0, it should be 'Scrapped (due to the Grayrigg derailment)'. For 365526's status in the Class 365 section should be 'Withdrawn (due to the Potters Bar train crash)'. For 43002's status in the Class 43/0 section, it should be 'Preserved'. Tell me 313201's status when it goes for the National Railway museum. Also, tell me any updates lol. This is a top positive review and must be reviewed!!!!!!

Great app for spotting British trains. Although would be good if you could add your own photos aswell in a future update.

Prefect app for UK Trainspotting. Just one little niggle though, Transpennine Express doesn't seem to exist on it, the liveries are marked TPE but operator and owner are all blank

Annoying that it reverts to the beginning of each list when you back out. Thus too much scrolling. Could this be rectified?

Great app, easy to use. Only thing I could suggest is the ability to geotag with locations rather than add a manual tag

I think this app is great! Photos are very good and pretty much every every British train is in this app! HIGHLY recommend

Simple but good to use and nice to see your own photos on there from time to time.

It is great but I wish there was an option of seeing what others have spotted and they're picture of it aswell.

This version will not restore my sightings from my tablet, not very good at all bring back the old version
