Transfer Companion

I purchased this to transfer text messages to PDF for legal purposes. First problem, it does not include every exchange in the text message thread so the conversation seems discombobulated, but secondly it picks a random "start" date of the thread. Yes, my settings are NOT set to show a specific time frame. It is set to show all. Really annoying and highly disappointing.

At my age (75ca) doing anything like this is fraught with trouble! Well, that's normally the case, but here (after I realised the left-hand menu worked rather than the row of icons along the bottom of the screen), I managed to install the Companion app on my android phone AND Droid Transfer on my PC AND view & process my TEXT messages in Excel in less than an hour! This is a really well thought out and good app! I am very impressed. Many thanks! Andrew PS: Even the purchasing process was straightforward....

The reason I downloaded this app is that I accidentally deleted an entire text conversation and was unable to restore it using the cloud backups that I have. I would have been happy recovering any of it, even if I had lost some of the more recent texts, but the whole thing was gone. With this app, I was able to save the text conversations that are most important to me onto my computer. I can open a document and see the whole conversation easily. That is exactly what I was looking for and I'm so glad I found a way to do it. The conversations were oldest to newest, but in options, you can change that, among other things. I'm not very tech savvy, and I did it by myself!

I've used this product twice to move SMS message threads off to my laptop for archiving purposes. Both times the tool has worked as it should. Granted, it took some time to move the data over my wireless connection but, that's to be expected given the size of the thread and the amount of data being moved. Easy to use and reliable - Very good tool!

The application is very convenient and easy to use. It does not require Bluetooth connection but permissions only which is a quick touch. I can transfer my music and photos without a hassle using this application. However, it provides more than that like transferring call logs which is available in the pdf or csv form. Overall a very simple application and easy to get by and I recommend it to users who would like a quick transfer of their files.

It was very hard to get working. The people who designed it never tested this out. There was no activation or update buttons or options anywhere. after wasting a half hour trying to get it working finally a window asking for the activation code appeared. It was nothing but Agony getting this piece of junk software working. I also tried the contacts transfer app from wide-angle, and it never worked.

01/03/21 Update: While I finally got the app loaded and working, it took almost four hours to download, I appreciated the product developer's prompt response to my review and additional troubleshooting options. With that said, it may be beneficial to revisit the download speed of the app to see if there is something to be done about the frequent timing out or the absorbent time it takes to download. Busy people do not have time for the shenanigans :-). Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback, your prompt response and excellent customer service. 01/02/21 Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I literally just paid for this product and have been trying to download my text messages for a court case...after three and a half hours, the thing keeps losing connection and will not download. I'd like to think it is user error, but I tried the trouble shooting suggested in the earlier email...to no avail. Extremely disappointed with this product. I expect to request a refund. 😯👀

Pretty Easy to set up. I had to go and get my registration code off their web site because it was not sent to me by emal. The CAPTCHA on their website was a big pain. I had to go through about 6 photo sets before I was confirmed to be a human. However the software works like a charm. I'd prefer to be able to download just specific texts instead of every text on my phone though. Also no USB wires required is a plus. Just take good notes so you remember how to use it in six months. It does do everything you need though to save a date range of messages for one or any number of contacts and was worth the hassle. Easy to use, nice print-outs which shows contacts, phone numbers and time stamps. I use the HTML format because it's a smaller file. I'd prefer the windows explorer save-file component rather than the tiny save-file box they give but I'll happily live with that. Good investment for anyone needing these records. There aren't many programs out there that do a good job of it like this one.

Very Disappointed!!! I pd $30 for the premium version & what a waste. I Want a refund!!! The app is easy to use, the main problem is that it does not capture the complete messgage. I needed to use the text messages for a court case and it failed to show tye complete conversation. I thought maybe I did something wrong. I exported the text message at least 3 different times and each time the same results, incomplete messages.

Finally an SMS message transfer application that is simple and well documented. Just purchased and I am not very tech savvy but was able to use it almost right away. Transfer companion is only one part of the software needed. The other part is for your P.C. You can try the demo version for free, but will need to purchase the software if you want full functionality. Not too expensive, and well worth it from my perspective. Finally, I can free up space on my phone without losing 7 years of messages that needed to be saved for the purpose of documentation.

When you want to transfer a complete text message STRING from phone to PC, not just one message from a string, this seems to be the only quick easy way to do it. After spending 2 hours or so looking through piles of websites claiming to tell you how to transfer the whole string and ending up with only one message out of the 34 you need, I stumbled onto this excellent software. Once I installed the two apps (one on phone and one on PC), it took all of 30 seconds to get a text file of the WHOLE STRING. I had to spend 30 bucks to get the fully activated software, but it's worth it because I'm trying to get money back from a notoriously PITA airline and don't expect them to be helpful. Droid Transfer worked perfectly!

Works wonderfully. I never have any issues with transferring stuff over Wi-Fi. 4 stars because there is no option to transfer data from my SD card. Their website has an older document saying that you can by tapping the menu button (3 vertical dots) in the top corner of the app. However, the menu button does not exist with this version of the app.

This app is easy to install and simple to use. It is easy to connect via wireless (Bluetooth) I find that USB cable, as used with other apps, is a little more long winded. I have found it easy to print off and save a copy of a message thread with a customer who is denying an agreed material price . I am sure it will be useful for transferring Excel files I want to use on my phone.

Great app and great experience backing up my data! I tried the full version and I was amazed by how easy it is to transfer my photos, music, and even messages to my own PC. I loved that it let me choose to save my stuff in different formats. I'm giving it a 4 star rating because I had some issues, such as the app not updating when I took certain actions from the Windows app or having to perform some actions twice because the first time they weren't recognized. However, I'd still recommend it.

For legal purposes I needed to capture an entire text thread WITH images. I did buy the full version for PC. The cost was very low considering it's powerful capabilities. If you are running a VPN turn it off beforehand so you are connecting properly. Second if you have a Samsung phone you will need to enable de-bug mode. It is not hard to do. Just follow the prompts. This app really saved my bacon!!! Not to mention i purchased the wrong software and the company readily refunded my money.

Downloaded the trial version on my PC to ensure that I will be able to use it for what I need it for. I don't use RSC messages and I was able to see all the messages in conversations including media. Emojis were "" but that is fine for my purposes. Much better than an XML file or spreadsheet. The Exported PDF's look nice too and have the phone number and date/time with every message.

If you need an app that can copy you're messages, call history, messages, contacts, music, photos, etc over to your PC look no further! You can save conversations effortlessly as a PDF, import your calendar, you name it this app does it! Have music on your PC you want on your Android? Easy as pie! I tried Droid Transfer/Transfer Companion wirelessly without fail, with USB connection again with stellar performance! I can't rave enough about this app! Easy to understand instructions, anyone can use this!

The app itself could be great as long as you know technical information we generally don't think of everyday. I needed to convert a text conversation to a pdf for legal reasons but after making the $30 in app purchase, it only transfered one side of the conversation which was useless. Apparently the advanced settings on my phone wouldn't allow certain messages and you can't change it after the fact. Ok, no problem I'll find a different app, but no one will get back to me regarding a refund.

I love the design and layout of this software. I bought it ($30) because I need all my SMS on my Note8 transfer to PC for backup, since I about to get a new phone. Haven't deal with customer service yet so I have no comment on it. Everything seems easy and straight forward. You can transfer files either by WiFi, or by using USB cable. I tried both and all work well. If you're using WiFi, make sure you use the SAME network. I have 4 different WiFi in my house and I got trouble at first, but after set my phone and PC to the same WiFi.... problem solve.

I think this app is really well built and it gets the job done very efficiently. I've found the Text messages to PDF feature to be very useful. It can even find some really old stuff which you might have forgotten about and export them effortlessly in a PDF format. It's fast, simple to use and has a very user friendly interface. ❤️☺️ I'll recommend trying this app out for yourself. Some features are still in development, but the necessary features are in place.

Great piece of software, but it required a bit of work to get it to work. The secret for me was when I plugged in my usb cable, my Android phone defaulted to "Transfer Files." It needed to be set to "Charge Phone." The great thing is that the pdf files created from my text messages are searchable and contain any embedded images.

For legal purposes I need to save certain text messages and be able to print. I tried one program and it was awful. This is working exactly how I need it to. I am using a Google A50 phone that is certainly not a top of the line phone and it is working perfect. It also connects to my computer by scanning the Q Code with no problems. Connects instantly

Very happy with this app so far. After looking for free options for saving parent to parent text messages, I settled on Droid Transfer. Was initially hesitant based upon several of the reviews, but the process and final product (a pdf) seems to be exactly what I was looking for. The PC download and subsequent companion download to my Android (Moto G4) went very smoothly. The conversation I transferred (saved) took place over 30 months and included dozens of photos and images. All photos/images converted nicely within the finished pdf file. Total pages in the pdf was over 700. Be patient. Though it took a while to download the entire conversation (5 minutes) the companion app on my Android continually indicated that it was still in transfer mode and hadn't frozen. Note: Your initial print/download will only get you a FREE pdf of 5 messages and not the entire conversation. To print/save your entire conversation/thread you will need to pay $30 to finish your project. For me, it was worth the $30 to make sure I had an easy to read, printable and email ready PDF of the entire conversation.

The apps tell you to download two apps: one to your phone and one to your PC. It doesn't automatically tell you that it costs $30 to actually start the transfer process of documents. I installed everything, paid the $30, then after digging through my phone (through the app) I get the text messages from one of my contacts downloaded to a PDF but not all of them are there (actually, I probably only received %30 of them). It's not clear what the problem is, but further reading information provided from the company, it says that not all types of text messages are able to be downloaded from the app. It provides instructions for a few different cell phone carries (none of which are the one I use, which is a HUGE cell phone carrier on the East cost of the USA). Now, after paying the $30, the app is pretty much useless because it does not do what it promised. Very disappointed and would like a refund if someone cannot help resolve this issue.
