Translator

Well, it worked in the beginning quite well, but now the translated phrases shoot out on replay insanely too fast no matter how many times I touch the button. In the settings of the app I found nothing except one option which didn't solve the problem, then I restarted the phone, which didn't fetch me any solution either. Update: I tested other apps there playback was fine, then I reinstalled the Microsoft translator app - that didn't help to solve the replay function of the app.

easy to translate and there are many way to do it however the micro app can be improved, it doesn't seem to understand what we are saying as well as the camera app, especially when a word is cut at the end of a sentence to begin at another one, also when there are multiple translation for one word.

I think this app is simple and easy to use. But it would be better if we can switch languages between two. For example, when translate between two languages, in Google translate application, there's a reciprocal arrow between them. So, we don't need to change the input language and then change the output language separately. By clicking that reciprocal arrow, two languages can automatically (from input language place to output language place). In this application, I don't see that setting 😔.

Excellent app, have recommended to friends. Have had a few years. As a newb, I couldn't understand how to use some features at first, but love it now. I downloaded main foreign languages I anticipate for easier access. Has helped very much in many situations, including once during a medical visit (other patient came in needing guidance, no one available spoke their language and correct help was provided once staff knew what patient needed). Fantastic app! Thank you.

I needed this app to translate Japanese to English using the picture translation. I know it can be tricky, but this app just couldn't detect anything and was thus useless to me. Google's worked just fine. I'm sure this app works better with languages based in the Latin alphabet, but I can only rate it based on my experience. I did not use any other features as the photo translation was all I needed.

I had to go to Greece for business. Almost everyone was speaking Greek. There was so much to see and do and eat, but communicating and reading signs was impossible... this Microsoft translation app turned out to be invaluable... definitely a major help! Thanks!!

So far much better than Google translate... On 27/04/2022: App regularly displays msg " hmm, I can't translate that", so I need to stop the app and restart. Also, I miss alternative translation options (the way Google does). Update on 08/05/22: Stop/Restart does not really work. And neither does Uninstall/Install. I have now deleted both my data & my cache. (it would be nice if Microsoft could say something about this problem. If not a general comment, maybe an email to me)!

Does a very good job been using this for a few years. Would like javanese if possible as most people from Indonesia speak that more than bahasa. Using this with Microsoft swipe key, it no longer let's me copy and paste text into it. Which is very annoying.

Fancy UI but using it is a bad experience. Can't Text-to-Speech the source language, only the output. On the positive side, it supports Cantonese, while Google doesn't.

Give it a go and I'm very satisfied with the features. Works quicker on Wi-Fi and the dual conversation toll works fine. Less intuitive than Google Translator but that it will go away with time.

*update* Welp, app now only translates one time, when you first open it (using the keyboard translation method). If you want to switch languages, or start new sentence, you have to close the app - not minimize, *close it* - then reopen it, & do it over. It's beyond frustrating, and breaks the app, making it pretty much useless. Uninstall/reinstall, clear data/cache, VPN/no-VPN, nothing fixes it. It's a shame because I really prefer this to Google translate. M$oft, please fix it :(

I keep having to reset the app because of a recurring bug. When I use the mic feature, the app says it's listening but then nothing is translated. Resetting the app fixes the problem but only for a few days.

Amazing, I thought I will never see Cantonese speaking translator in my life. Finally I find Microsoft Translator. I have been wondering for so many years why Google Translator do not provide Cantonese speaking options. From now on, I will delete Google Translator App and switch to Microsoft Translator instead. Bravo....

This has been the best translation app. I have found for Spanish/English. It translates pretty much everything properly almost 100% of the time and it's options for input are nice.

Very good translator, have a lot of languages and very easy to use and simple interface, and the last but definitely not the least this app have alot of useful, helpful and interesting features, this app will definitely help your current translating needs!

I'm not what you would call computer savvy, but this app was 🤩🤩 I've tried seven different apps before this and they frustrated me. this app lets you say it in the language that you speak and translate it into the other language, and then you can paste it right into a conversation you wanted to have and take what they said to you and reverse it so simple. thank you!! now I can talk to so many more people

So far no problems. Used a few translate apps that have been slow and inaccurate but this one is quick, easy and as far as I can tell, accurate.

Excellent translator, great for learning languages too, I also use it in reverse to practice pronunciation. If it can understand me I know I'm saying it right.

This used to be the best app, but I have recently been receiving 'mmmm, can't translate that' messages on simple words. I often have to restart the app and can then only do one translation.

Worked great for a long time, but for the past several weeks it keeps saying "hmm. I can't translate that" for nearly every translation or it will say that half way through a translation and not translate the whole sentence.

Nice app. Unfortunately no live camera translation. The camera focus sound is pretty annoying, no option to turn off or lower the volume.

Almost near to exact translation for Tamil from English. But there is no example sentence if we search a particular word unlike Google translate. Hope features will improve...

The most amazing translate yet. Which the photograph feature you can take pictures of text and translate instantly.

"Hmmm I can't translate that." That's my experience for now with this app. I wrote the word "Toilet" to test it, and I got the message "Hmmm I can't translate that". What's going on with this app? It's served me well before but recently it's disappointing me. I will give it 5 stars when this stops this. 😵‍💫

Had given this a four star at first. Only to discover there are almost no African languages in the app translation. I've noticed this with MS.. You're way behind Google on this. Is it that Africa does not exist to you?

App will not open any more. Prior to that, camera translation function will not work, when ever you open gallery to translate a screenshot, the app will freeze and gallery will not load.

The best translator! Fast and accurate. Easy to use. Thanks Microsoft, for it being available on Linux based Android(oh, yes.) 'Linguee 'United States Spanish' is a translation joke.

Quickly recognises and predicts and gives a good recognisable translation. It'd get 5 stars if it offered alternatives to account for context.

Easy to use. Accurate. Well done. Living in a spanish speaking place makes this app so important. I like the verbal and keyboard options as well.
