I'm pretty sure that this app is designed for newer devices-11 and up. Does what it says and I like that you only have to tap the camera icon for quick reset. Easy for multiple items. I would give it 5 if it could be a QR/Barcode scanner also.

I do not like the fact that you can not use your flashlight on this app and it is hard to scan your code I moved to a well lit area I was going to go outside but it is dark outside so that wouldn't of helped anyway it didn't scan the code when I tried to scan it instead it looked dark and blurry when it was clearly lit all around me.And yes I know how to scan a code I scanned a whole lot before on apps in stores and other places. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 is bc I know it's purpose.

Terrible app. Camera comes on for a half second and then goes black. No settings to mess around with either. Expected more from an Amazon app.

Literally just tells you the name of your product, great concept app but utterly pointless and fails to achieve its aims literally just has the product name not even what country it's from let alone any other supply chain information.

Completely usess and waste of time. App to scan, except the scan is so dark it cannot read.

Pointless junk. Only this app can scan and open the code on your product, and when you do, all it tells you is the name of product that's in your hand.

I don't understand why we need an app to know the product name. I can look for the product name on the box itself. I expected it to show the warranty detail of my product. Not a useful app.

Others complain that the app only tells what is in the box. But that is the point: to detect counterfeits. My complaint is that it does not optimize camera settings to clarify the image. The app may work well without such optimization on phones, but not necessarily on tablets. On my Samsung A6 it does nothing with the blurry image it gets up close. QR Reader, on the other hand, does optimize to a clear image, and works fine (just not with Transparency codes).

JUNK APP! Does nothing to confirm authenticity. I'm sick and tired of receiving emails from amazon 6 months after purchasing a product, telling me amazon sold me a counterfeit product and issuing a PARTIAL refund. CROOKS!!!!!!!!!

As others say, no reason to use this app, also it rarely scans correctly and the camera view is extremely dark and difficult to even see if I have the code in view.

Yes, it technically works in that it confirms you got what you bought and in what country it's made. Period. That's all. NOTHING ELSE It doesn't link to the product listing. Or anything useful like that. I get that it's too help detect counterfeit goods but, if the QR codes are only applied by Amazon and only on products that they sell and/or ship (fulfilled by Amazon) then what's the purpose? This is for people who are too lazy to read.

The app does not have a good night time experience. There is no way to turn on the flashlight and there is no dark mode. Like many others, I don't see this app's purpose. if it could do something useful, like let me write "verified" Amazon reviews for Christmas gifts, for example, I would be happier about it. The app "functions", so I begrudgingly give it 2 stars instead of one.

Could be better. Scanning my galaxy buds only told me what they were. Where the app said it would give me country of origin it and mfg date did not. I was also hoping for serial number. Without the serial number showing on the app, it would be pretty easy for a sketchy seller selling knock-off electronics to just scan and print off a legit code and stick it on a cheap pair of ear buds and the person that scans it in the app wouldn't know the difference.

I have another app called Flow Code when I use the Transparency app it worked well. The second time I attempted to use the app I got no response from the scan. However, after I tried it scanning the second time I quickly switched over to flow code and got results. Understanding that both the apps work but they work even better together. Why? Because if one doesn't work the other will. That's why I rated Transparency App 4.I need them both.

Complete waste of an app. Doesn't even scan properly.

Ana. E. May 29, 2022

I feel like this app would be much better if it actually told you about the origins of your product and not just what's in the box lol.

At work perfectly for me. I scanned the QR code and it popped up confirming it's authenticity. The issue with QR codes that don't come up is they are not in the transparency system if the system was wider it would work better. Extremely simple to use. No ads, probably why the transparency net maybe cast too small.

Useless app. It only shows the product name and picture from the Amazon listing.

Mre. K. Apr 19, 2022

Keep scanning the code this junk desn't read it. Extremely dark camera app. Filth!

Jer. O. Apr 9, 2022

Didn't work. The camera stayed very dark.

yas. s. Apr 28, 2022

Meaningless app, it just shows name of the product, i ordered the product, i know the name😂

Jak. L. May 16, 2022

Didn't work. Won't scan qr codes.

Vin. L. Jan 26, 2020

A simple, but effective idea. Each item has a unique qr code, and so is checked against a database for authenticity. I hope to see more products use this, as I do often wonder about the autheticity of cosmetics, etc.

Downloaded & tried to use it due to thm hvng a sticker on a product I hd purchased off of Amazon. I didn't knw wht it was? -thght it hd 2 do wth my extended warranty- WZ NT THE CSE! Wz a sticker 2 chck 4 product authentication. I did "TRY & ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES IN DIFFERENT LIGHTING AROUND MY HOME" and the thing would NOT FOCUS ON THE SCANNER! Made me believe it is a SCAM or something (only bc I've been hit by dark web activity 3 times now since late 2019 from APPS that say are ligit!)

I like the idea of Transparency codes, but there are some major blind spots: There's no specific information other than "Made in China" for the bed sheets I scanned. I expected at least a date of manufacture, materials used, the name of the manufacturer, and their address in China. Also, without granular data, how do I know this unique item is the same as the one in the DB? Uninstalling -- not ready for prime time.
