Traveline Cymru

An excellent app for viewing bus timetables and travel route planning throughout Wales. Good for local bus journeys as well as longer distance journeys in Wales and to bordering county destinations, as well as providing bus links into rail travel hubs. Bilingual too, offering very good access to the app in native Welsh. Da iawn.

I always liked this app, but like several users commenting below I have just experienced a problem where buses do not get listed at all. I have been in touch with the developer, but in the meantime I solved the problem, at least for me. In the latest version there is a 'preferences option. Not sure if that was there before but I never used it. One of the options is 'max walk distances in metres'. Mine was set to zero metres. I never set that, so I presume it comes as a default, which seems rather strange as if you can't even walk 1 metre how are you supposed to get to a bus stop. That, for me, was why it wasn't listing any buses. As soon I logged in and set that option to a higher figure (500) the app works perfectly. If you have this problem you might want to try setting that metres option to a reasonable figure, other than zero.

It used to be reliable, but now every time you lock your phone the app closes and you can't see the route, so you need to type it all in again. The "Earlier" and "Later" buttons now jump and then say there are no busses at all. Post codes aren't remembered any more, and I hoped they would be if I registered as a user, but I can't even do that as "Oops something went wrong" occurs and this has happened many times, so I cannot even register. I hope this helps developers and customers!

this used to be one of my favourite apps...I'm appalled to find I that an update means expected to want to 1. "create an account" 2. have lost all my existing favourite stops and 3. the app keeps crashing when I'm trying FROM SCRATCH to locate even my local bus stops 4. the font seems to have shrunk.... what on earth is going on?

Won't even let me sign up! Useful for timetables but lots of errors (still not corrected despite reporting). Times scroll independently of each stop so impossible to compare journey times etc. Room for improvement!

So far I have no complaits per se, so I've summarised some points based on some 1-star reviews: • Traveline Cymru is a website - apply for a pass there. • For complex journeys, don't use an app - use your brain and actually plan it yourself. Apps cannot account for specific requirements/conditions • The app gives you a variety of routes • I created an account with no problems whatsoever. Check your device's compatibility with the app (This could be the problem) • Timetable GUI: Needs Improvement

One of the worst apps ever. Unable to put together a complex journey for advance planning. Useless for use while out as it rarely connects and is painfully slow

The App does not hold the favourite bus stops or timetables for long - perhaps only a week or two. You have to reinstall to get your favourites back. It needs better programming!!

I am trying to obtain a travel pass for my elderly father & was directed to the app. After installing then setting up an account there appears to be no option to request a travel pass. My time is yours, Traveline.

This app is awful. It refuses to allow me to create an account. It says journeys aren't found when I know for a fact they are. The website is annoying and prone to errors but this app makes it look like the encyclopedia brittanica

Wow reinstalled this app to find its completely broken and unreliable. No trains or buses between Swansea and Carmarthen tomorrow morning? If I was a tourist I might take this information as gospel. Ridiculous.

Useless .... does not pick up timetables from local buses. Website does though. 4hr 44 mins to do what should be a 13 mile journey according to the app 1 hour 4 mins on the website! Stick to the website.

As a disabled public transport user, this app has proved invaluable HOWEVER it's no longer reliable ie. bus follwed by train from Newbridge is best route to Cardiff but app only signposts the Rhymney Valley train, a more complicated journey. Sad traveller :-(

Used this all the time now says no buses. Useless. And so far still doesn't work. Uninstalled several times too. Had a few emails but still doesn't work

You've just given me an update to this and now it keeps saying no journeys found. All the time it sets no journeys found. This never happened before.

Updated app and it disappeared from my homescreen. Used it often but now not too sure.

Very poor app, will recommend unnecessary changes and ignore direct buses. Waste of time

Use to be very reliable but now too many flaws this app need updating trying to add favorite now doesn't work great app but really need an update and upgrade pls sort it out

Updates for road closures are terrible. Clunky interface.

Abysmal. Cant even log in. No matter how many times password is reset. Dont waste your time.

How can you go from an app that works well to one that is now totally useless? Buses vanished.

you know there saying if it aint broke dont fix it. What you had before was good, all my save teavel information, it's all gone. Please put it back as use to been, thanks
