Treadmill Speed Transmitter

Use your phone running indoor on a treadmill and enjoy sport simulation apps such as Zwift or Arcade Fitness on a second device. Treadmill Speed Transmitter act as a bluetooth low energy foot pod and sends running speed and cadence to your tablet or computer.

There are different modes : you can either set the speed manually or put your phone in an arm band (or take it in your hand). In this case, running speed will be computed automatically. In addition, you will be able to adjust running speed by setting up step length parameter. In order to get better results, we advise you to do this when you are running around 10km/h.

Other options :

Use your ANT+ Footpod with Zwift. Your phone act as an ANT+ -> BLE bridge.

Use your Garmin watch with its integrated accelerometer with Zwift.

The app is free for 8 minutes workouts, if you want to do longer exercices, you will have to buy the full version.

Please note that you need to use Zwift Companion app on a separate phone today when using Zwift on Windows (not compatible with Zwift Bluetooth beta direct connection)

Nice to be able to transmit my speed to use zwift. Could be more convenient. There is one very annoying aspect about this app, not sure why they went with this choice. When going above 10 mph (or 16 km) the +/- button increase the speed by 1 mph rather than 0.1 mph. Edit: I'm not sure why safety would be a concern, it's not an actual treadmill. If anything it's more dangerous to force us to go up by 1mph. Please consider changing or a separate +/- 1 button

I like it a lot. Works perfectly on manual mode, so much so I bought it If the developers are reading please add the features below: 1) Better usability in landscape mode, my phone is mounted horizontally while in use and the app doesn't change to match. 2) ability to add custom speeds to the buttons, would make doing workouts that bit easier If these 2 points were addressed it would be perfect.

Can only customize the speed of one button! Would it be possible to make the buttons in Manual Mode all editable like the last button? Most runners would probably appreciate being able to customize a number of the buttons based on paces they commonly run at or for setting up interval workouts. In the current format many people probably wouldn't even use some of the buttons such as the 5m13s mile pace..

I'm using the manual function to transmit treadmill speed to a PC running Zwift. It works OK with a direct connection to the PC via a Bluetooth dongle. It's a good alternative to footpods which I've found can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to speed accuracy. The interface is basic but functional. I haven't tested any other functions so YMMV.

Does what it says. Used it as a practice at first, connected and moved the avatar immediately. Edit: doesn't allow me to go over 10mph. If I press + whilst on 9.9mph it jumps me up to 10.9!! Is this a glitch?? Is it possible to rid the top row of low speeds to include a row faster options?? 2nd edit. Really disappointing that it doesn't go faster than a 6 min mile pace for safety reasons. Can't be used for any zwift workouts as it doesn't go high enough. Shame.

Would like the option to set all ten manual speeds, not just one. Speeds of 2, 3, 4 miles per hour are just not useful in a fitness context. Updating review to 4 starts for prompt response from the dev! Note: I'm noticing that Zwift on Windows will shut down while I'm using SpeedT if I set a Goal, finish a Workout, or receive a Gear prize. Perhaps there is a background process limit that could be adjusted in SpeedT to allow Zwift to smoothly continue running.

Works well with Rouvy, but a few problems. Had to reconnect a few times during my run and although I bought the full version it was still popping up messages about having to buy the full version for longer workouts. Is this caused by network connection problems? Then it feels like speed steps using a garmin watch is rough, it almost latches to specific values and doesn't change smoothly. Also had speed getting stuck at a value at some stage. But overall much cheaper solution than a foodpod and ok because I'm not running on the treadmill a lot.

After constant accuracy and then connection issues with the Zwift RunPod, I was on the lookout for a more reliable replacement. I came across this app and was almost put off by the negative reviews, but gave it a go and glad I did! This app works great for me in manual mode and ensures that my speed on Zwift reflects the treadmill perfectly, exactly what I was after. I didn't have any issues setting it up and the only time it lost connection was when I took a screenshot using the companion app on the same device, so I wonder if that breaks the bluetooth connection for some reason? Possible future improvements: - Customise speed buttons - Increase/decrease by 0.5kph Keep up the great work! My setup for Info: Zwift running on Macbook connected toTV Speed transmitter app running on phone connected to Macbook RunPod and HRM connected to MacBook for cadence and HR respectively

Tried it out with Zwift. Have this on one phone transmitting to the zwift companion app(android) on another phone. Needs bigger + and - buttons as trying to make small speed adjustments is hard while running, especially with the Stop button being right below the + button, and 8.7mph button right above. Should have an option to make those bigger in the middle of the screen. End up changing my speed much more than desired. Easy fixes would make it much better.

Work well when it works. The buttons to change stride length need to be muc bigger. You have to adjust the with every speed change on garmin option and its hard to do when running at 12-13km/h. Its a bit buggy to start sometimes but when it does, it's a good solution. DEV: please increase the stride length change buttons and make them more prominent.

The app sees my speed, cadence, and heart rate. Zwift sees the app as sensors and connects perfectly. However, Zwift does not get any speed info and my avatar won't move. I'm hoping there is a simple fix so I don't need to request a refund Also, it would be best if the app didn't send an activity to Connect or would allow that option to be disabled.

After a few glitches setting up (due to poor instructions) I am able to use with ease. I have a note 9 (A) running swift and a note 8 (B) for speed app . This is how I do it. Turn both phones on. Connect via bluetooth. On B settings > share data connection with A. A aks is it Ok >yes (so the phone with data B has the speed app on). Then start Zwift on A (have the speed app open on B) connect HRM first, then the Speed. It then works a treat. Far better than any footpod. Well done dev team.

Great concept! hit and miss at the moment probably due to Samsung's MAC address variability (per developer) regardless this developer should be encouraged as he provides a cost effective solution to use Zwift run. Not sure how the Fenix Series watch broadcasts (ANT or BLE) but it would be great if it could be picked up with an ANT key for IOS or when enabled Zwift for Android with ANT. Not losing hope...cheaper than Stryd ;) The GUI and Dashboard needs some love...

Used auto mode most of the time to connect to Zwift. However, always faced 2 problems, 1) the app will auto jump out from auto mode and often disconnected from Zwift. I need to close the app and restart it few times in order to make it connected again. Both Bluetooth and WiFi are on. 2) sometimes does not detect the speed. Although been using the same speed to run. It will suddenly slow down. Please fix it.

Have a Samsung Galaxy J7 and Amazon Fire HD 10 with Zwift on PC. No problem running the apps or pairing the Speed T run/cadence sensor in either configuration of device acting as Companion, but never able to see an actual speed detected after hours of cycling power on devices, uninstalling and reinstalling apps, forgetting and pairing Bluetooth connections, and checking permissions.

Only used the manual functio which works great unless you're doing short fast intervals when its difficult pressing the buttons. Could do with bigger buttons or a page where you can select the speeds you may need. No point seeing loads of buttons if you only intend on using 4. Overall a great app.

Please add the function to modify ALL buttons. I'm a noob runner and any settings above 7mph are basically never going to get used by me. Yes I know there's is the ability to edit a single button. Please allow customization of ALL buttons

note 8 and zwift on ipad, about 2 years trying, finally got this to work today after seeing one review below about the reviewer pairing his two galaxy note phones in bluetooth settings. so i did the same with my note 8 and ipad, tested for 5 mins with no drops! i've paid for this now, it's a really handy app to have on days the footpod doesn't behave. p/s: just pairing and letting the phone and ipad recognize each other seemed to do the trick, i didn't set it to share internet connection.

Sort of works for me. I am only interested in the manual mode to send a treadmill speed to Zwift. Typically works for about 20-25 minutes and then the Bluetooth connection drops out. Better than my Runpod for most of the time but not perfect.

Trying to get it to work with the pixel 3 and vivoactive 3 music. Everything goes well but then the launch hr run transmitter button won't activate the app. Only the cancel side of the button works. Installed and reinstalled. Not sure what the problem is.

Your app for garmin watch when used with zwift sometimes ends when set workout is completed ,however if continue and go for longer distance after the goal is met, it doesn't read anymore, though zwift is still capturing but the app and watch showed zero movement. Hi developer, i tried on another day and it worked ok. Why sometimes it auto stop although I'm still running, that's what I'm puzzled.

Jam. m. Nov 19, 2020

I tried the free app and it seemed to work ok so I bought the paid for version. This worked a few times then just stopped connecting with my tablet. I can't get it to connect now whatever I try. Nothing has changed with the phone or the tablet but now it just won't connect.

I'm interested in using this but with the trial being so short I'm considering the full app - but no indication about how much it costs and where from as I can't see the full version on play store only a link ditect from the app which doesnt give a price either . Any advice ? Thanks

Very difficult to get it connected to zwift via ZC. Takes around 30 min after restarting everything a few times. Undortunately I have to give up. Might be the devices I don't know.

Suw. K. Apr 7, 2020

Using this app on an android 8.0 phone connecting to Zwift app on iPad Air 2. Will this be a good combination? The running avatar stops running for 1-2 secs before it continues running again. This happens every minute of the workout. Is this because of free version?

Jas. M. Jul 3, 2021

Why can you not edit the buttons? I'd like to be able to set multiple custom speeds. We should be able to edit all if the buttons in the app, not just the 1 custom button you get.

Edy. L. Jan 6, 2019

Doesn't work with LG v20 and even my old Sony Z2. Brilliant idea but its a shame that its now being abandoned. Not even the manual option works, need not to mentioned Garmin watch. I would buy it if any of the options above works. Come on developer you can do better than this!

My search officially ends here. I was looking for an app so I can run on my treadmill and link it with zwift. Tried it free for the first 7 minutes, managed to stay connected in Zwift without ANY hickup, didn't hesitate to pay for the full version right after.
