Train times are inaccurate. They show the trains positions pretty far off from reality and compared to other apps. Map functionality is especially inaccurate.
Pretty good overall! Considerably more accurate than Google for ETAs! Not so easy to use as it mught be. I just tried to get arrival times for the Red Line at Wilson and could only get bus times from Quick Treks
Theeeee best CTA app! Love being able to see where the buses is in real time.

App is great. Of course it is as good as the data provided by CTA, but many functions (find nearby bus stop for example) are quite useful. I miss the funny comments by the developer on his blog!

Wow, I can't believe I first reviewed TreKing in 2011! Unlike me, it has only gotten better over the years. Absolutely the best of its kind. No other app has improved my quality of life more. A big thanks, again, to the developer!
Bug when using the map. It takes you to the middle of an ocean half a world away. .

I've used this app for years and at different times have tried out more alternatives than I can count. The fact that you can easily access an organized list of your favorite stops (incl. direction, which is kinda rare) and get an arrival time without 20 taps/big photos is a major win, and keeps me coming back even though the interface gets dated compared to others. Recent addition of route colors seems to hint the dev is working on it, but the result is rather jarring and not really addressing the problem.
Still the best CTA app available and I've tried them all over the past 8+ years of owning a smartphone. Developer continually adds new features. I can't recommend TreKing enough!
I rely on this app to get me around on public transit. It's fast, accurate, and easy to use. The developer is responsive when contacted directly, and has a wicked and wonderful sense of humor.
Great for planning when to leave, to make a connection. Once set-up, is faster that CTA's bus-tracker.
I tell my friends and random CTA passengers, this is the ap you want. Do the full version. It's worth it.
I needed a app for school so in can see when those trains come so I won't just be sitting and wondering, and just as well for the buses in Chicago. Now I don't pay for apps, this is the only app that I have payed money for, and it was worth it. The dev (when you email him, not leave 1 star reviews) answers questions in a very timely manner, and is very nice when explaining things. Overall, this app, for anyone living, working, or going to school in Chicago (not driving) could benefit well from this app. Update: a few years later and the developer has made this even better by tweaking the UI of the app!
Will you b supporting Android Wear, if so when do you anticipate rolling it out?
Developer very responsive. Fixed crashing issue in record time. I highly recommend it!
Been using TreKing for 4 years now (i think). Gets better with every update. Developer response is excellent!
Wish Google were this accurate
I love the app but I can't give it 5 stars when I get consistent crashes on launch. I send the error reports whenever possible. Hopefully the developer can increase the stability, I'd like to raise my rating to 5.
The latest version crashes on launch on the nexus 5x.
Keeps crashing. Was working well before about a week ago and now crashes often, and I'm prompted to submit bug reports often. Sometimes I can't even open app. Also lots of my details under My Treks have self-deleted and it won't let me enter them back in. Hopefully the bug reports will lead to a fix, otherwise i'll have to look for a different cta app, which would be too bad because it was really useful before. I have a samsung galaxy a32 5g.
