TrekPack - Packing Checklist for Trekking/Hiking

Great app for gear list, simple and effective with no adds. Can make different lists for different trails. Items can have photo, weight,brands and additional description. Issues: + Description is not saving right now on two different phones. + Weight not fully displayed in list, you enter 111g and it will show 0.11kg but total calculation remains accurate. + Gear list menu could be easier to find + category for Summer vs winter gear?

Very intuitive interface and useful categories. You can define new item types and have multiple items within each type. I wish that I could choose to mark two different items simultaneously within a type. For example, two vests with different weights (sorry UL folks!). However, that can be easily circumvented by defining two separate vest types.

This is a nice tool for your backpacking prep, but there are 2 flaws I hope will be corrected. The first is mentioned repeatedly in these reviews; you can't delete a category once you have made one. I made an error making a category and now I can't delete it. The second issue is the app rounds weights up or down. A weight of 6.3 oz will round to 6.5. This may seem like a tiny issue, but for a weight-concious or ultralight hiker planning a thru-hike, it is important. I would prefer accuracy.

A great app for preparing a trip. Useful features would be to be able to edit the item name. ie. I would prefer to call a "Bivy sack" a "Bivvy bag" and use the word "Trousers", rather than "Pants". Also I've found that once a custom item has been added, it is not possible to remove it from the "additional items" list. Otherwise a great, easy to use app.

I just downloaded the app and was looking it over. Seems very user friendly and simple to use. One thing I like is being able to add categories. For example, I added pet supplies since I take my dog with me. Having a list of his supplies helps me remember to pack his things too. Really good app.

Fantastic app, user friendly, and really helpful for cataloging gear. Love the ability to photograph gear, enter weights, and designate whether gear is packed or carried outside the pack. The shopping list is also a nice feature.

Best pack planning and weight planning app I've found. Maintain one list of your gear and put them in different arrangements for different trips. See instantly what the weight is. Suggestions: 1. Add a field to indicate if an item will go inside a pack or be stored on person 2. Add a field for volume so I can figure out the minimum size pack I'd need for a given set of gear.

Would be nice to be able to permanently delete items from original and added ones. Also, multiple lists would be good for season changes or multiple destinations.

Good visual checklist to make sure you've got what you need and what everything weighs. A little more customization within canned items would be nice.

I've been keeping great lists/weight excel sheets for years. This is so much easier and convenient. Great app for oz counters.

This little app is amazing, you can list all your gear and then great custom gear check lists using the library. Definitely recommend, the suggested list items are a nice touch also.

Great app! Able to add your own gear and weights easily. Not sure why other reviews said they couldn't. Best I've used. Shared with every one I know who may use it.

Too bad the user can't create their own catagories. It's impossible add miscellaneous items with its own title.

I mean this app is almost perfect. But we really need to be able to delete stuff. I made an test item, but its not on my gear list and I cannot delete it.

Love this app for gear inventory, sorting gear, assessing pack weight, and making sure you haven't forgotten gear while packing for your trip or on the trail.

Needs one more feature. I need to be able to edit and add categories. Otherwise it would have been perfect.

Unfortunately.... You can only log weights to the nearest 50g. Not much good for proper camping. Still 3 stars for nice design, just not useful for hiking.

Great way to document gear for a trek including weight, quantity, description, purchase date, and notes.

The fact that I can't add categories or my own items makes this app useless to me. Sad since it seems great otherwise.

Good. 4..5 years ago had idea about such app, but decided that excel is good enough for me. Glad that someone else made it.

Great app , loads of potential.. takes a while to figure but its powerful once you do

Great App. I'm planning a big bike ride and this has been a great tool so far.

I love this app. Particularly the auto-list feature.

Just Perfect, not sure how to delete new categories I've added but that does not take anything away.
