Only found about after reading they were going out of business. Bought it from Amazon including the appropriate cable. Having fun learning what it can do. Auto focus works, i left it on in error. Love the GPS function works in conjunction with the phones GPS and takes photos every so many metres/km or miles

I like triggetrap and it is amazing what it can do, but it has its limitations (a lot more than I though). Camera has always to be on manual focus (which is not that bad, you can learn to manual focus better), otherwise my cam cannot take a shot. I did not explore everything whit it yet but i think that you made a good app and dongle, and you have a good support!

Never would have bought this if I had known there is no auto focus option. I understand why manual focus is preferred most of the time, but not including auto focus because you don't believe it's needed is ridiculous. Give the user the choice. As a follow up to the reply below, I have a cabled Polaroid remote for my Nikon which controls the auto focus and will not initiate the shutter until the focus is confirmed. I had hoped to use some of the features on this app that my cable release doesn't support.

I used it on my Sony Z3 to connect my Canon 5D Mark II and it worked flawlessly. But dosent work with my new Xiaomi Mi Max. I increased the volume in all and had app permission changed to "enable". It only clicks when I play a sound from my phone. Does not click through the app.

Within 40 minutes trying to figure it out its crashed nearly 10 times. A number of feature are not working, sound sensor, hdr, press and hold. Hoping triggertrap can correct these issues as I was very excited to receive. If not I'll have to return the gift and the full kit also received.

Great value overall! When in a specific trigger mode pressing the back button exits the app. It should return to the main screen - Android standard. Also entering specific times is very clumsy. One always has to backspace for every digit already entered and then enter value for all placeholders rather than just simply changing the time with a spinner for minutes or seconds etcetera. Standard Android design. A black background for night is better. On eos 70D, bulb mode not required!

Used TT when it was an Arduino board, decided to upgrade and bought the connector through Amazon. First used it through my Galaxy S5 with disastrous results. No mode would work correctly no matter what settings the TT and/or camera were set at. Oddly it works pretty well on my Galaxy Tab with Cyanogenmod (sound trigger is a bit buggy). In hindsight, I should have just bought another remote timer for camera number two.

The iOS app is vastly superior because it supports more features than the android app. Depending on how you use it, you may not care but it seems that the functions that depend on the mobile os to properly support real time audio aren't implemented on the android app. Which sorta makes sense because android for years has had problems with real time audio. Its well documented and Google can't or won't fix it. Too bad. Also no motion detection on the Android app vs the iOS app which does support it.

They could do with simplifying things in the controls, but the functionality is not bad once you have a wade through it. The way that you enter the time annoys me as you have to shove every digit along from the microseconds end, which is just silly. Even something as simple as _ _ H _ _ M _ _ S _ _ is confusing till you realise the digits are to the LEFT of the characters, so Hours on far left and on the far right are actually fractions of Seconds. Aaaargh... just confusing when you are in a hurry to set up to catch the sunrise. The getting started message zip through 4 pages before you can read them.

If you're interested in buying the hardware, I suggest saving your money. Triggertrap is pathetic on Android. Master-slave function doesn't work for most people and the developers don't care. This is an iOS centric company that doesn't care about its Android user base.

It seems like TriggerTrap can't count to 3. The time lapse function works fine with intervals of 1 or 2 seconds, but as soon as you increase it to 3 seconds or more, it starts to skip a shot every now and then. Sometimes it skips every second shot! This has messed up SO MANY time lapses for me. I just returned from a time lapse shoot, driving many kilometers to get there, just to have my time lapse ruined by an app that doesn't work. Time and money wasted! Not to mention the cost of a TriggerTrap cable...

I have the official dongle which all modes works fine with the iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.1.6). BUT, for my Samsung S7 (OS 6.0.1) its missing the Vibration sensor and Motion sensor. And the long exposure ones don't work, yes I set the camera to Bulb, it just keeps taking multiple photos. I can get the 3GS to be master and use those missing sensor options but the long exposure ones needs the phone and dongle directly. A shame they seem to be going out of business so no support available. I can't recommend it for the Android, but is fine for iOS.

I'm a happy user! Issue listing below no longer applies. -- -- Dongle plug tricky to use on my Nexus 7, fine on DROID X2. After inserting plug into Nexus 7 earphone jack I back it out just a bit. Camera and Nexus then communicate well. I hope developer catches Android features up to the excellent tricks available in iOS. I gave iOS app 5 stars.

Android users are being left behind cause this app, though has great potential is targetted mainly for iphone users. No motion detection for android etc....

Ste. R. Oct 1, 2015

The program is working great so far. Need to do some real world testing but so far do good. Had some issues when I got it, but an email to their support department solved them all.

Very glad to see this company forced out of business after they ripped off so many people with their last Kickstarter.

Oma. G. Sep 3, 2015

I just updated less then a minute ago, and it already crashed. I but this device for its intervelometer function and I have not been able to make it work.

Mar. R. Apr 12, 2016

I tried everything to make it work with my Rebel T3i. Nothing.... Customer service sends the same repetitive emails, asking the same questions over and over. Wasted money. ..

Jam. S. May 30, 2016

I could do with a few more functions like mixed mode (like bramping and time warp together) and more degrees of function on timewarp. All in all not a bad app. I'd recommend it.

Tom. A. Feb 17, 2017

I can't understand why is app won't work on a Canon EOS 1200d and I have a question why would you have to use Wi-Fi to use the app when you can't get Wi-Fi in most places because of photographer might be out of range of a Wi-Fi what wanting to use This app

Jos. H. May 17, 2016

Why not buy something that enhances your photography experience while being inexpensive in a expensive hobby. The solar calculator is especially nice with pictures of sunrise

Dav. L. Nov 26, 2016

Perfectly good app and product but wouldn't recommend to a friend. Amazing that they still haven't developed for Android Wear... Actually, they should be embarrassed that they haven't developed for Android Wear.

ahl. n. Apr 2, 2016

Stop crying that the android version is so much "worse" than iOS. Then go out and buy a stupid iPhone... Best app I've ever used, worked perfectly from the get-go. Keep it up TriggerTrap!

Pet. P. Nov 12, 2016

Why are the intro/splash screens the main focus. I didn't need to read them the first time either, please make them disappear. The functions which only appear when tapping top left should be your main screen, not some dumbed down messages that no one reads. When I hit the back button on Android it closes the app??? Why? Silly nuances that I'm sure will continue to annoy but otherwise the cable and app do what I need inexpensively. Could be 5 stars if not for the weird app layout.

Van. Mar 22, 2017

Love the app... I just wish that there was more Bramping shatter speed range.

woe. u. Sep 14, 2016

self timer feature won't work on my android phone. also some of the features are glitchy. I hope it would be addressed on the next update.

Ral. K. Mar 25, 2016

Fantastic app. Would love to see a calculator in the time-lapse function. Would love to set a timer so I'll get a time-lapse video of eg 10 seconds.

Cam. R. Dec 28, 2016

Only worked as a basic trigger. I brought this to do long exposures with a 10 stop ND filter. However 2 seconds is longest exposure on EVERYTHING!

Yur. V. Jan 20, 2016

Great App, but wifi master/slave barely works (tried multiple devices, followed instructions on website) Missing some functionality that the IOS version has. Overall great app. i'm using it to make great HDR and Star Trail photo's

Jon. B. Jan 12, 2016

Easy to use app and even easier to use product with it. It simply plugs in and you can control your camera from your phone. Although your volume needs to be in max for some reason probably the sound activate mode but I still love it.
