Been listening to the J's since I was 13 (1988). Over the past 34 years JJJ has always been there for me, particularly in my early 20's going through a period of isolation and self discovery. I'm as emotionally invested and super appreciative of the J's now and as much as I was 34 years ago. Thier ability to keep ears on the ground for new "Aussie sounds", is what and why I hold the J's so close too my heart. 👍 ☮❤☯️
The app concept is great, however most of the features don't work. I can't add to my playlist. The "recent" playlist is stuck on the time I opened the app, for the whole day! These are the main ones and a few others too. It's frustrating as Triple J is my favourite station and 98% of the app does not work for my S21.
Hate to do this to you dev team, but it's only 2 stars from me. I'm running build 4.11 (6665) and the app is still stopping playback after a minute or two of my phone's screen being locked, only to fire back up again after unlocking the screen. I'm running Android 9.
Wicked tunes, decent app. Triple j is easily the best radio station in Oz! Just wish the recently played songs/tracklist feature worked. I've found a way around it, just change time zones you don't have to clear your data/cache.
Mostly functional however the recently played and currently playing stick from when the app is opened so if you want to add the cool song you just heard to a playlist.... You're out of luch.... And you have to force close the app and clear the cache to get the updated tracklist... Not ideal to have to do after every song... Otherwise a great app in concept...
the app has improved a lot over recent years, the interaction and engagement is great, and it updates just as quick as the info on my car radio. Sleek design, too.
We need to see the currently playing song so we can add it to our own playlist. It's a real shame that we can't do that. It would make the app 100x better. Please fix this soon. It really would help many of us build a collection of our favorite songs.
App no longer updates the songs that are being played from the point of opening the app. Especially evident with the hottest 200 countdown, where for me it's showing the 195th ranked song and not the ones now playing.
It's OK, and the frequency is helpful, although not as good as the one in the iOS version I used a year ago which had a map so you could plan ahead when driving. Also, I'm not sure if it's in the iOS version or an older Android one but I swear you used to be able to stream specific shows from the app. I only really used it for that if not on a road trip, but now I have to go to the website, so bringing that back would improve it alot. I agree with another user that losing the songs I love feature is annoying, not everything is on Spotify even if you use it.
This version of the app is better than previous versions. However there are a few issues with casting eg. I have to be playing already for the sound to work, and even though I stop casting and then stop the app playing, it will occasionally start playing again, even if I've fully closed the app. I'd love to see an Android TV version come soon!
A great radio station, with an almost great app. It's much better than the old app, it looks nice on larger screens now, and is a great fit for the station, but it doesn't work well with high latency, while overseas and on a slow Internet connection. I'd suggest adding some feedback after pressing the play button. A wait before hearing the station is expected, but not getting any feedback until the steam has loaded is really annoying and leads to extra presses that may pause it again.
Decent app for Android. I like the interaction with Spotify. Widget recently disappeared which is a shame.
not sure if I have downloaded the wrong app but they mentioned you could message directly to the text line through the app. love the LikeAVersion playlists!
Can't multitask without the music dipping out. And chromecast is dodgy. It's only ever worked once. I love Triple J so I persist. Please fix.. thanks
mostly good app, harder to find podcasts that I favourited since the update. otherwise good for semi live streams, doesn't agree with spotty reception
just doesn't seem optimised. good for streaming live radio but finding and playing older shows is less intuitive.
Could use a better layout but apart from that shows a good history of past songs and never drops out
Killing my battery, even with the app on the highest battery restrictions. I didn't use the app once and it drained my battery 7% in a day. Uninstalling.
Audio stops playing every minute or so for no reason. I just get a pop up saying that there was a problem with the app. Have to unlock phone and go into the app to press play. Sometimes this doesn't work and I have to force close and restart app. This I really frustrating and I have stopped using this app.
The now playing screen dosemt update unless you switch to another screen and then back again, bit annoying to find the song that's playing.
Triple J is the best radio station! Great selection of music and styles. Great hosts and no adverts!!!
It's an app for a radio station, that is most popular among middle aged people, and yet calls itself "youth radio". It also plays identical pop music to the other Australian pop stations. What are you even doing here if you have internet? Download a proper music app, they have algorithms, they know what you want.
The app has consistently improved over time - when listening to Triple J this app has steadily become my default way of doing so. It's really easy to switch between the 3 stations and they've recently improved the experience when listening to previously aired shows, making it easier to find any shows in particular you might have missed.
