Really doesn't work on a Android tablet. App won't recognize my PRO license which does work on the TroutRoutes website. Obviously a work in progress. This was eventually fixed.
Useful but annoying to use. It's nice to be able to scroll and see different streams in my area, but the endless pop-ups to start the "Pro" version are worse than YouTube.
Seems great so far, I've taken a look at the features that are provided and it seems to be a great app. However I would like to be able to see streams in the state that I live in (Oregon). I think that once the whole weastern and southern area of the US is complete, this will be an amazing app.
I want to be able to use the app but so far after paying for the pro subscription (from website) the app on my phone always logs me in with 'basic' subscription. UPDATE - support has fixed issue with my account and app is working great. Looking forward to checking out all it has to offer.
Was happy until the most recent update. All I want is to see easements in my home state (MN). Basic version doesn't have easements. If there was a time limited free trial without committing payment (ie, supplying a credit card), I would try the Pro version.
First I tried to open the app on my android and it keeps crashing, it's saying there's a bug that you need to work out. So I went on my laptop and I'm trying to purchase the pro version and after I put in my card information, it keeps asking for a name, for which there isn't a space to even enter my name! Grrrrrrrr......
Man!!!! This is what I have been looking for. Worth every penny, I have spent hours looking up new blue lines for your streams and planning a trip. I have already used it for one trip and it sent me straight to the location I marked.
This app is the single greatest tool for trout fishing since the spinner was invented. I wish the person who made this app knew how many more fish I catch because of their hard work.
Perfect! It makes it so easy to find the best trout fishing streams in my area. It's just like using any of the best mapping apps but it shows where the fish are.
Good app. Love the crowd sourcing for parking options
It does what is described and expected on a basic level. I'm using the free version right now which may be why I have some challenges. State parks and wildlife areas are not named. My biggest challenge is when I'm zoomed into an area and tap onto the river the screen zooms out to the entire watershed so I have to zoom back in again. The upgrade cost seems reasonable for the features offered. The Play Store description indicates there are in app purchases for the upgrade but I don't see it.
Really? This is the app? Signed up for the 7 day Pro Trial, and the only information I can see being useful (for myself) is the overlay of fishing access sites, where everyone else goes! Is that worth the $40/year? Not for me.
I'm just getting into trout fishing and so far it's been a very helpful tool.
Great contact support....they answered back an fixed the issue I was having with 20mins of emailing them. Love the app so far.
This app is the bomb!! Interface is amazing, easy to find and explore new waters
Great source as long as you are in a place with internet
If there is a better option for finding trout streams in MN and WI I have yet to find. Works great when you have no service and are trying to find the parking spot on the stream. Pay for the upgraded version it is worth it. People complaining expect perfection with understanding the intricacies of what is involved in the development. The app works. Well done.
Very basic usage. Major rivers are not even on the map yet, and the only way to see a path is to search the exact river or water. There is not scrolling and exploring, and the public land and stream layovers don't work. Honestly you're better off using Google maps until this is improved, so you can at least see the names of the creeks as you scroll
Very helpful for exploring new rivers. It is nice to know where the easement, private, and public sections of water are when your exploring new tributaries. It would be cool if the app included what fish can be found in different rivers, and where impassable barriers are located.
Recently downloaded and really impressed by the accuracy of the maps and level of detail provided (streams, roads, trails, satellite views, etc.). This app is definitely going to enhance my experience on the waters this summer!
Tried signing up, and after trying 2 different emails was told that were already in use. Find that hard to believe. I contacted their support and was given help to sign in and also received a free month of the pro version. Nice!
Recent 2020 update crashes on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. No change in app response after your fix. UPDATE: Late Feb updates seems to have resolved problems. UPDATE #2: By late summer and new phone with Android 10, app crashes upon opening. Useless again.
The basic app has very little to offer. I had difficulty logging in. Tried to reset password. Never received password reset confirmation. This application needs time and work. Good luck.
I just installed this app, it's all updated. So far absolutely nothing shows up as far as stream clasification or even streams for that matter. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to even get that info on the free version. If I can't get it to work it'll be uninstalled soon.
As a guide.... this is a great tool.
The maps are very detailed and show the best access points.
Excellent features love the touch zoom and how if I find somewhere I want to go troutrouts has a link to give you directions to the exact spot and easements to enter when you get there great app! Used it yesterday to find a great Brookies spot!
Love this app has gotten me and a few buddy's out fishing news streams this year especially native stream because they are a little hard to find in Virginia
Please! for the love of all things holy, do not make this an app where people can share stream experiences/ increase ratings of the listed streams. A lot of us have spent years finding those gems, others a lifetime. Finding an unpressured stream is amazing and sharing it is forbidden, unless fishing with a friend. Thank you for keeping some great streams hidden or marked class 2 or 3. As well as marking some great yet the usual high pressure streams as 1.
Excellent app!! Very intuitive and easy to use. Great detail and lots of work put into the maps/streams. It's exactly what I've been looking for to locate local trout streams and explore new areas. Its 1000x better than the DNR website. Excellent customer service and communication, they definitely care about their product. It's like the onX of trout fishing. Thank You!
