GPS tracking way off. It says I'm still 29 miles away from destination. But I'm here OLD: You send me a notification for a update. So I come here... No update. Lost 1* OLD: Tried to use for GPS routing. Every time I tried to zoom out to see more of my route. Minutes later the app zoomed in to close for me. Also the Icon for my location kept going off the screen while moving. As well as the location showing on the map seems to be 1/4 mile behind me.
It's a bit barebones and like some useful features such as live traffic, but it is a solid truck navigation app. I downloaded it because my truck GPS has issues navigating in certain cities and so far the route finding has avoided all those issues, in fact if more features get added it could very well become my main GPS. Another major frustration with the app is it tends to freak out when you go off route, even if it's just a truck stop and it's extremely annoying.
So we use a Rand McNally in the truck and when it acts up we use this app and I love it. It has only one time not been able to find a location so far! It's easy to navigate and has many options to help find what location your looking for!
Needs an update. It can't tell it's right hand from the left hand side of the roads. It took me the wrong direction twice in a row and led me to an empty woods once. Please fix the bugs. A lot of us can't just turn around anywhere we please. It has caused a loss in time. 30 minutes or more.
I am a full time truck driver and also have never left a review, but this app deserves it. It's been extremely helpful with helping me decide what routes and roads to take to my destination. Before I had this app, I used Google maps and always would just wing it if I seen a low clearance or look down a road and say nope not turning there. Getting this app has made my truck driving experience a breeze!
Will recommend. The only issue I have is sometimes I'm routed the long way. Example I was driving from Secaucus to LA. Instead of directing me to i80 west it tried to rout me to 78 west. Luckily I knew i80 was quicker. Besides that, I'm satisfied with this app considering it's free.
Good For Longer Drives, Terrible in the city. It likes to take side roads rather than the freeway. It really doesn't show details for interchanges. I mean, It's ok for a Free App. I can't say anything super awful about it, but it's not the best out there. It's still a better alternative than truckerpath at $40/month.
Always gets me to my destination. Took me to 6 destinations in Brooklyn NY. fairly smoothly. Minus 1 🌟 star just because sometimes I know a shorter route But I understand it's following "truck routes" so I may come back and add the 5th star after I use it more than this one day so far.
Pretty damn decent. Would be 5 stars if it didn't drain my phone battery while it is plugged in. Other than that, so far it is a smooth running app.
Really having a hard time understanding how this app has the highest star rating of all truck gps apps. If the "free" version is any indication of the premium service....its a hard no from me!! The free version of Hammer, although not 100% great, is far superior to this app. And Trucker Path, although WAY over priced, it's free version is far superior as well.
Please realize that true truck drivers use the mile markers all the time have the mile markers come by as the map travels and when you get to an intersection pan back so the entire intersection visible for about a mile back that drivers know what kind of intersection and how they can use straight through or take Cloverleaf to get another Street or maybe just an off and back on ramp that they can use also stated speed limit sign should be floating along with the highway numbers
Since the latest update, it truly won't work at all. If you plug in a address or a location, it will just show "no results found" even my home location, (which BTW, ONLY SHOWS THE OFFICE ADDRESS DIRECTIONS when it is working! no matter how many times you plug in the truck entrance for a major distribution center)
Getting better. Found the feedback section to alert you of unidentified locations. Also, upon arrival, the give feedback function doesn't work.
This AP has put me in some bad situations. It seems like it confuses itself, it will tell you 3 different directions to go to I'm a few seconds it doesn't fully co.plete the description the second te around that it tells you where to go. For example it might tell me go to I 64 east in 50 miles. When I get their. Instead of repeating I 64 east it will just say take J 64. Even if their is a fork where theirs a west and a east so you better n ot forget that east the first time they say it.
Very intuitive and add free. And you can find loads🤯! Let me check this out and come back to update. (5/18/22)
How inaccurate is this app? So, from my house to my destination, the map is trying to send me 30 miles out of my way in the complete opposite direction, take 3 different highways to get on the proper highway. When all I have to do, is go 3 miles down the road (which is a truck route) and get on the highway and straight to my destination.
Lane changes really need to be sooner then there announced on app for a semi to successful be in the lane they need to ...would like updates on road and traffic conditions too.
Nice and easy to use, very informative for commercial opporator. So far free to use.
Great when it decides to work. Cant just copy and paste any address though. trying to get to work today I had to stop, and play with the address just for it to find it. In the end I had to enter an address about 10mins away just to get into the general area and figure it out from there... Not to mention it's a common truck route
Downloaded the app to help navigate through heavily residential areas with alot of "No Truck Roads". Every destination I entered directed me onto "No Truck" roads. There doesn't appear to be any difference between this app and Google Maps. Extremely disappointed.
Giving a 3 star because out of all the gps I have tried, this one drains my battery even when plugged in. I liked using the GPS because of the option to choose truck entrance and no other GPS does that, but I can't use it all day as it drains my battery when plugged in. Bring my review down to 2 star since no response from the developer on battery draining issue. I'm not the only one who has complained about this.
Has taken me down residential route quite a few times. Also gives me bad routes for example it'll tell me to turn off of the road I'm on to turn right then go left over a bridge go left go left go left go back over the bridge come back underneath to be back on the same road I was already taking.. It gives you terrible directions. A few times hasn't told me to turn until after I passed my street. It can't rewrote when you know the street it wants you to turn on it's not a truck route
Great details on my routes. Better than my company ELD & Rand McNally GPS's. And I'll consider purchasing it if I can find the options within it.
Doing better than original, still has a few issues like extreme number of turn info pulling out of a shipper and missed turns/announcements coming off exits (few).
App worked fine for 12.5 hour workday no issues except some glitches in the tunnels and then an update has left it unusable, loss of a star for the crash, but otherwise when fully functional, definitely recommend
It doesn't remember addresses you type in. If you try to explore, you can't go back. It erases everything you just typed in soooo you have to start over. 😵 Good map details...
This navigation gps range around in circles in Birmingham, Al for about an hour. Finally I put the information to the receiver into Google maps to get to my destination. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
Love this app. Use it as a back up for my dedicated truck gps (Garment Dezel 785). Hasn't steered me wrong yet.
Great app it will not take u down roads that's Truck prohibited. Even works with low bridges to overall great app
Seriously needs updating, you can't choose a different route. Constantly crashes and stops working, but dosen't close when that happens so you miss your exit by miles if you're not paying attention to the app. Literally the worse map app I've ever used. Also forces you to use Bluetooth audio output if it is connected. The programing for this app is horrible i would rather use a 2 inch tom tom from the 90's
