App is flawed and needs to be fixed. 1. It says I was speeding when I had my cruise control on and it was 10 mph less than the app says I was doing. If you are going to count for speeding, why only do it for the higher speeds; why not do it for the lower speeds? That's where most of the incidents happen. I do know of a few instances where I caught myself speeding in a 35 and 45 but it was not noted at all in the app. 2. Says I was distracted when my phone was in my purse but my purse laid down on the seat. My phone stays in my purse the whole time I am driving. 3. Calls using hands free blue tooth in car a distraction; even if you did not call from your phone. 4. When I initially installed the app; I had it working in the background and then received email that it was not working and I would lose the discount. Had to uninstall and reinstall again. 5. When I pulled over to check phone for the correct directions and then pulled back out; was called a distraction. and 6. I travel the same route every morning and every evening. I start and stop at the same locations; however, the addresses are different each time. You would think the GPS locator would be better than this since its trying to use your driving as an incentive for discount. As I said, app needs work is very flawed. Not sure I will use it for the 180 days because it gives me more stress than the discount is worth to know its not logging things correctly. I get enough stress in the every day world; I do not need to invite more into my life. Fix the flaws and we will see.

Two times now this app has gone a month without recording any trips and both times we've gotten emails saying we're in danger of losing our discount because they're not recieving any driving data. We have all the permissions enabled that the app asks for. Their tech support said there was nothing they could do and to just reinstall the app despite that only fixing it for a single day this past time. Also if we try and view all our trips in the app, it freezes our phones entirely. Really bad app.

Several bugs that need fixing. I used this app for 180 days. There were several errors with the app. When I called customer service, people who don't speak English well would answer and not understand my issue. The first 2 weeks, the app did not work at all. My discount continued to decrease even though my drives were not recording. When the app started working, it continually recorded braking faults. When I first installed this app I would consult it to see how I was doing. Time and time again it would say that I parked a block over when I was really parked at home. It made such sloppy mistakes on the basics, but had no problem monitoring my mental state to determine that I was distracted. It didn't take long before I just ignored it completely. This is why it was such a surprise when I "graduated" at the highest level. But when the time came to renew, they screwed me over and I got nothing

The app only works part of the time and also every time somebody decides to stop in the middle of the road with no warning and you have to touch your brakes a little bit hard it's giving you a violation. Frankly the app completely sucks and really is not worth the 10% discount. I guess Hartford would prefer you to run into somebody and have an insurance claim opposed to using your brakes to avoid an accident.🤷‍♂️

Using this app gives me a discount. However, it seems to record one trip and then stops recording any more. I got help from the developer, but it's still not working. Per developer advice, I turned on permissions in settings so the app had access to my location, etc. When I go into the app itself, I am unable to set its permissions. I am frustrated that I may be penalized for an insurance-required app that won't work as advertised.

This app works well some of the time and not at all the rest of the time. It usually records only part of my trips. Like yesterday it recorded the trip from my home to my work but not the return trip. It doesn't shut off like many people complain about but does miss trips. Can't touch the phone at any time during the trip because it will record the touch as a distraction, even if I pull off the road and stop. It has no way to change the vehicle I am driving, I have 3 vehicles. Needs improvement

Same experience as everyone else here - I'm an excellent driver and wanted to save a little on my insurance. I've had the app for 3 months - so, yes, Hartford reps, I have the latest version - and have had to reinstall it 3 times. All my settings are correct but I keep getting emails that it's inactive and not logging my driving. What's the point? Fix the app and I'll start using it again.

Absolutely terrible app. Whatever criteria the program uses to determine driving issues are set so high that I find it hard to believe anyone driving in normal driving conditions could obtain any discount. As a person that has never received a ticket or been in an accident that was my fault in 50 years of driving, I consider myself a resonably safe driver. The braking deceleration settings are at least twice as sensitive as realistic. It encourages you to run yellow lights. Many other issues.

I could go on and on about all of the things I hate about this particular app. But to save time, I'll just say it is an ancient program. Zero accuracy. Constantly having to reinstall for it to run in the background. They truly need to invest in a better program. One minute it states I live on the street that's unknown. Then it state that my address is different than what it is. It'll calculate me returning but not going. Mileage is constantly inaccurate. Tons of defectives.

Must use this app to maintain a discount on auto insurance. The app is unreliable. It shows it is running in the background, but it us not logging you trips. This inability to accurately log your driving can effect your discount. If it is using information from Google maps, I noticed that Google maps had inaccurate speed limit information. It may be recording that you are speeding when you are actually driving the speed limit. If you brake hard because you were cut off, it counts against you.

My wife and I recently downloaded and installed the True Lane app (Android). We discovered immediately that the app was a battery hog! The very first day of use we both had to recharge our phones by mid-morning. Generally, we do not recharge all day. Every day we have had to recharge both mid-morning and as soon as we get home. Data usage is roughly 35 MB each way during commute. Support from The Hartford was zero. Their attitude was, basically, "it is what it is." They suggested I turn it off when not in use (force stop? - there is no "turning it off"), and turn it on when driving (after confirming it automatically runs in the background 24/7). I notified AARP of my concerns. Based on the very insignificant discounts I read about online, I am guessing this app is not a reason to switch to the Hartford.

This app needs some serious work. The other day it recorded 2 events when I was simply moving the car to a better parking space. Today it recorded a braking event when I was coming from a state highway to a stoplight with very slow braking. If you are going to base discounts on faulty data, what's the use of collecting it. You have to be able to do better than this!

I don't know how The Hartford can use this app to rate anybody's driving. I just installed it 3 days ago and it is the most frustrating app I( have ever used. It crashes all the time. My phone is constantly complaining about an app that is slowing it down and it wants to close it. It only records about 20% of the trips I make. I have been a software developer for 440 years and I would be ashamed to put my name on this. By the way I am running V1.1.1, so don't tell me to upgrade it to fix the issues.

It worked ok for a while but it stopped and nothing I do helps. Uninstall, reinstall, log out, log back in. No trips are recorded .Yet, it shows at the top of my phone as running. Breaking showed up as negative when a car pulled suddenly in front of me. Was I supposed to hit the car? Would it be a positive? Very often says it can't connect to server. It's a bad app.

This is the most God awful, useless, worthless app ever. I've had to install and reinstall 3x today and it just won't work properly. I have used it 63 days and have had perfect scores for weeks. When I'm on the phone but stopped it takes points off, therefore lowering my discount. Customer service gets pissed off when I call about this. I feel like giving up on this discount. It doesn't record all trips. It shows "active" when it feels like it. It doesn't record proper "start and end" addresses

Freezes up a lot! Also it won't update your trips for a long time and eventually you are assigned the trip as though you were driving even if you weren't. Then once it's assigned you can't change it. It doesn't take into account speed limits in other states. It freezes up on your trips many times. Sometimes on a 50 mile trip if the phone coverage isn't the best, you might have 30 or more short trips even though you were on the interstate for most of it.Did I mention that it freezes up a lot?!!

Doesn't work! App doesn't know where I am. Seems to report partial trips on a regular basis! I took a 20 mile round trip, and it recorded 1 mile, in the middle of trip. I have a 2 story home and the app will turn on when I go from upstairs to downstairs, stating it's active and I'm traveling. I was stuck in traffic, going 25 mph on freeway, app recorded that I was traveling 89 mph. THIS APP DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!! Whoever created it needs to do some more work!!!

This app poorly written. It doesn't recognize most of the time. It finally recognizes and will say I was distracted by my device. I use my phone to navigate, pay through the drive through, and have it plugged in charging. I don't believe this is very accurate. It crashes and will not open for days at a time. I get rude emails that I will lose insurance discounts because the app is not activated.

Worst. App. Ever. Unless you drive only two doors down to visit the neighbor, it's nearly impossible to not get at least one hard breaking event. The tracking of speeding events needs some serious revisions as well. If you live in a pancake state you might be okay, otherwise cruise control does not maintain a steady speed, but varies slightly above and below where you set it. The app recorded 252 speeding events in one 3 hour trip.

Junk. It claims you can tag drives as you were not driving. It does not work. Went off road biking. It declared 4 'events'. When I try to look at them, it shows me a blank page. I can't mark them as NOT IN A CAR. Yet it tags them as 'events'. A few days ago I was a passenger in a car. It tagged 3 events. When I tried to mark them as "NO" when it asked if I was the driver. It popped up a MAP of the area. It still tagged them as my driving errors. Tried several times. Often crashes with "this app has crashed", I press the report button and press send.

App is just not working right. Half the time it doesn't even record the trips at all and then it records distractions where there aren't any , for example I had the phone in my pocket for a trip and it recorded a distraction, and on top of that when I break from 17 to 7 miles an hour in one second it flags it as an incident which is ridiculous. It also beeps when first starting but has no messages listed. Very annoying

This app is not reliable or accurate. It is hit and miss recording my trips and has to be reinstalled at least once a month. I had 1 "event" for the first two months then took a trip to Ft Collins where the speed limit for a good portion of the trip is 75 miles an hour. I got home and had 77 events! Seems this app registered me as speeding continually when my speed was 70 or higher. Totally reduculous. I would not trust or recommend this to anyone.

Terrible app. Only captures SOME of my trips. I also keep getting emails that Hartford hasn't received any data from me for one month, so I may lose my discount. I go to check my app and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My location feature is always on, so that's not it. I am signed in, so that's not it. I don't think it's me; I think it's the app. PLS FIGURE IT OUT AND FIX IT!

While I thought this might an interesting and useful app, after 3 months I have learned that it is not. I get "severe distractions" when I go inside the post office or check my mail box at home. Backing into a parking space is a no no. Do not slow down when a car pulls out in front of you. If a stop light changes you are supposed to speed up. If you slow down too quickly, it is severe distraction. It has clocked me at 89 mpg on entrance ramps and curves that would flip my car. Needs work.

Most definitely a pain in the butt. I take pride in my good driving but this app makes me look bad. Didn't even touch the phone and it recorded many distraction events. Braking events that are normal stops. Only one instance where I had to break a little heaver but still in good stopping distance, however it docked points. I think this app needs work.

App fluctuates on display, jumps up and down on screen. (Samsung S8). Confirm screen does not always take input. Also adjusted my distraction index, up til now I have only been a passenger. Have only had it a few days, but appears to impact battery time fairly substantially. Also often unable to access server, which means that you may be categorized as a driver even if you werent, because you cannot tell the server you were a passenger or had other transportation.

Pretty unreliable. Installed last September when switched insurance. Stopped working completely in January. I've called numerous times and no one has been able to provide a way to fix it. DTPA at this point. And if someone cuts you off on the highway or slides in when not enough space you get dinged for braking. Happens quite a bit in Dallas, Tx. I'm only giving it 2 stars b/c it at least recorded my trips for about 4 months

I would not recommend this app, even to someone I didn't care for. It keeps closing, does not properly record trips (if working), shows my address as those of neighbors, necessitates numerous phone calls to Customer Service - which takes much time, and is a total annoyance. I have not braked hard since installing the app - March 12, 2019, but it shows one. How can an app be so unreliable?

I am having a lot of trouble with this app. I pulled off the road in a parking lot to look for directions and it registered as a high distraction for almost 1 minute affecting my discount. It constantly registers 1 second low distractions when there are none. It is draining my phone battery. I rarely drive compared to being a passenger and it is very difficult to keep up. HELP!
