TrueMotion Family Safe Driving
With TrueMotion Family you can:
• See where your teen driver is.
• See how they got there.
• See if your teen is driving responsibly (and if they’re texting or using the phone while driving).
• Engage your entire family by inviting them to your app Family. Friends are welcome too!
• And, see how your teen ranks compared to the rest of your Family.
The app engages the whole family to become safe and responsible drivers by tracking behaviors, scoring and ranking each driver and sharing the results to the whole family (or other group). In addition to showing driving behavior, TrueMotion Family also shares family members’ locations so you can see where everyone in your family is and how they got there.
If you don’t want to share the details of your location with the group, you can easily turn off your location details in settings to keep your location private.
Car trips are graded using a simple 100 point scale (where 100 is the best score). Teen drivers and their families can use their driving score to gain insights into responsible driving, identify risky behavior, and monitor improvement over time. Other driving behaviors indicative of risk like Aggressive Driving and High Speeds are called out within the app and factored into your score.
With a quick glance, you can see where your family is and how they’re driving, and how their driving compares to yours. Zoom in on individual family members with a tap to see scoring details and their trip history.

This app is pretty awesome. Really met my expectations for tracking speeding and distracted driving. After reviewing my driving, I concluded that it was pretty accurate. I could debate the "hard stopping" calibration, but overall I think the app nails it. I use it to track the newest driver in the family, so I can coach him a bit. Knowing that he is driving well helps me sleep at night !
It stopped working after a few days of having it. It would be nice if it actually tracked your routes in real time. It did but it just stopped. We checked all settings on everyone's phone. My phone only showed my stats but not my son's. My son's showed my and his stats. Then it won't intermittently show mine on my device.
Completely inaccurate. We went on a family drive to the waterfront today and our daughter drove there and got a speeding ding, which I am not disputing. What I am disputing is when she drove back home, the app had marked me as driving and dinged me for distracted driving for being on my phone and for hard braking....all while I was sitting in the back seat. And then later our daughter and husband both went to a restaurant to pick up dinner, and the app showed them in different places. 😏 buggy
This app seemed so cool, but the location is completely unreliable on our son's Apple phone. It won't reccognise when he is driving and it usually fails to recognize his location. Trying to make it work.
I work 3rd shift. 0000 to 0800. After only a week I was down below 70 because of how often I drive in the hours this so considered dangerous. But there was no way to set the app so it factors I'm 100% well rested and heading to work. So unfortunately I'm going to delete the app
When you invite people to join your family group it sends them to a picture on their website of a family.... Nothing else.... When you try to contact them on their website they want a business email. When you try to contact them on the app they want you to shake the phone.... Which does nothing but turn my flashlight on. After this you can mash the contact button all day on the app but nothing will happen.
Times and places are sometimes inaccurate, and sometimes does not record trips, but for a free app, it works really well
App is good other than the fact that I CANNOT change whether I'm a driver or a passenger in the car.. The app will crash when I press the buttons
Love the app and everything about it EXCEPT on my version it crashes and shuts down everytime I click to change to passenger after the trip.
Good app although it doesn't seem to work as well on my wife's phone which is the only reason I have not given it 5 stars. My wife only gets an update from my phone on my location every few days and we can't figure out why
This app has Terrible location accuracy. Even if someone is on the other side of town it says that the person is at home. Deleting this app. I guess you get what you pay for.
Doesn't always record. Sometimes starts in the middle of route or shows backtracking on route when it did not happen.
Considering this is free, this app is amazing. Great tracking, driving info. A true blessing. Thank you!
Can't add family members. The help screenshot showing the icon in the upper right does not show up.
horrible. app did not WORK at all it prompts u to enter a code the app never sends. waste of time.
The app wont upload my photo on my note 9, the location is very off and hasn't recorded my child driving for 10 days

This app is making me pay closer attention to how well I drive. I think everyone could benefit from using an app like this.

Lots of bugs!!!! Will be great if they fix. Can't change a drive to passenger. Info icon useless. Both crash the APP. Speed limits are wrong and you get docked for speeding when you are not. PLEASE FIX.

It would be nice, and I would pay to have this app, if the kids were not able to easily make their location unseen. I would like to have it locked on my kids phone so they couldn't mess with it and I would like the option for them not to be able to track me.
I removed this because of their data collection policies, and their ability to send your driving data to anyone (TOS and Privacy Policy).
Great way to keep track of my teenager drivers.
Could be great if the "transit mode" option worked. The app constantly misclassifies my teen son as a car passenger when he's in fact driving the car, so it reports back no important information. No speeding, no phone use etc. The FAQ claims there's an option to reclassify each trip, but the feature doesn't work, and the icons it refers to are non-existent. Potentially dangerous. We'll keep looking for a more reliable solution.
